I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

On this second volume of the series, Kamo continues hunting down spirits in order to capture them and regain his health. Along with Crimson, the spirit he has a pact with, he now has the company and support of Shokola, a clairvoyant young woman who helps him along the way. But when a strong spirit starts turning children into stone, Shokola's young sister is in danger. Kamo will have to use all the power he can get his hands to in order to save her.

The story continues to built up in a very interesting way. The characters Kamo meets along his adventure are interesting, and there are also some heart-breaking parts about his past. A very good Book 2 in the series, recommended to fans of mangas and fantasy.

Kamo and Shokola are once again helping demon Crimson in Kamo: Pact with the Spirit World Vol 2.

Kamo makes a deal with demon Crimson. To be permanently cured of his deadly heart condition, he must capture twelve spirits to allow Crimson to become human again. In volume 1, Kamo captures four. In this volume, Shokola leads a seance with Kamo that goes horribly wrong.

Kamo: Pact with the Spirit World Vol 2 relies on strong character development of both Crimson and Shokola. The seance aftermath sends shock waves through Shokola’s family. Kamo ups his demon fighting technique. Some new inventive spirits are found. There is a shocking twist at the end that should not be missed. 4 stars!

Thanks to the publisher, Toykopop, and Edelweiss+ for an advanced copy.

I received an ARC copy of this book from NetGalley

This is definitely more of a 2.5 but I decided to round up. A nice continuation from the first book, but it's pretty formulaic so it doesn't necessarily make me that excited to read more. I like the characters and the designs in general, but the ARC copy that I got was so small and almost impossible to read that I probably won't continue with the series . Still, if you really love manga and you have a physical copy instead of an ARC I can see this being a much more enjoyable read.

I ship it!

This manga was an adventure in every sense of the word. Kamo learns much more about his powers, the pact with Crimson, and the spirit world. The world grows a lot and I loved the development. I wanted to take a little more time with this volume to enjoy it more, but I could easily have finished it in one sitting like with the first, hehe.

Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from the publisher through the NetGalley book review bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255 : “Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising.”

I'm in a conflicting view with this one, I would not recommend reading this book. Honestly, I lost interest in the first 25 pages. I really just didn't understand what exactly was going on. The cover is nicely designed, but that's about all that is good about this book.

I tried. I just shut the book and stopped reading.

It had the pieces to be so cool! Just... there too many... "huh?", "How the.. that doesn't" moments.

I hate Crimson's name. I hate the lvl 99 flute, I hate the battle styles, I hate the scene pacing, I hat
