This volume, the first in the series, explores the high-functioning group of people within the spectrum of autism disorders. It is the culmination of over a decade of clinical work and research, including the most current information available about this group. Written in a style that is accessible to both seasoned clinicians and concerned lay persons, this volume is a unique resource.
A good introduction to AS/HFA. However, I found that there is too much time spent on analyzing various testing methods that are interesting only for confirming the diagnosis of Autism.
Dealing with late diagnosis of AS/HFA is not dealt with at all.
This was published in 2001 so it makes sense that the information is out-of-date. Since 2013, in DSM-5, AS has been merged under Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), no longer a separate disorder. I wonder whether there's still a need for AS/HFA differentiation though.
