Carole Marsh's "The Puppy Rescue Girl Scout Mystery" will appeal to readers of: dog stories, tween-age mysteries, and stories about Girl Scouts. My daughter, a Brownie, loved this book. We took turns reading a chapter or two every night, and, unlike some chapter books in which she kind of got bored four or five chapters in, she wanted to read this one to the end. I'm pretty sure it was the pictures of the puppies scattered throughout the book that did it, although she was enthralled by the story, too.
Marsh has written several Girl Scout Mystery books, each featuring her mystery-solving duo of sisters Ella and Avery, both of whom are Girl Scouts. They live by the Girl Scout promise of always trying to help others and making the world a better place.
I'm already on the lookout for more books in this series.
