Naked Heat
Andrew "Mac" McDaniel comes to Saddle Wells, Texas, and buys the rundown HanniganRanch. But he’s not just in town to get the place back to its former glory. He’s on a mission to find the drunk driver who killed his twin sister, and his latest lead has brought him here. Once he arrives in town, he gets more help than he thought he wanted from a group of locals who want him to feel welcome, led by the sexy realtor who sold him the place. When Nida Beloit hands over the keys to Mac’s new ranch, she can’t ignore whatever it is that sparks between them. But even as undeniable interest turns to hot nights together, Nida feels Mac’s obsession getting in the way of what could grow between them, and she’s not sure she can stand by and watch him destroy himself when his investigation sends him on a path toward a potentially disastrous act of revenge.

Slick's review posted at Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews
I'm just going to put it out there; I've enjoyed every one of the books in Desiree Holt's Naked Cowboy series. I love the town of Saddle Wells, I love it's intrusive but well meaning citizens, and I love that people come to this town and find their soul mates. Yes, I KNOW this is a fictional town but wouldn't it be awesome if it was a real one? A man whose life was ripped apart comes to Saddle Wells to heal and to find justice for his late sister but meeting the town's sexy real estate agent has him feeling things he hasn't felt since her death. Poignant yet every bit as sexy as we've come to expect in this series, Naked Heat proves you can't discount the healing powers of Saddle Wells, Texas.
Andrew "Mac" McDaniel is a little bit broken and a whole lot angry when his sister's killer, a drunk driver, has escaped justice due to some high powered influence. Knowing he lives in the county that surrounds Saddle Wells has him buying a run-down ranch to work out his frustrations during the day as he searches for the killer by night. What Mac doesn't expect is his reaction to Nida Beloit, his real estate agent or the matchmaking efforts of her friends and their spouses or the intense feelings she stirs up in his lost soul.
Nita Beloit has avoided men after her last relationship ended badly but she's finding it hard to resist Mac and his obvious despair and hurt. She has no intentions of falling for him but as he shares his story she can't help but offer to help and get her friends involved as well.
I really enjoyed these two from the start as it was obvious they both had some strong feelings towards one another that they tried to avoid. I appreciated that Nita reached out to Mac sensing his need not only for a friend and some comfort but for his mental well being. Mac was tough he didn't trust people given the way his sister's case had been handled but the group proved to him with their actions that they were behind him 100 percent.
What started out as comfort blossomed quite quickly into so much more while they had a miss-step or two along the way I liked that they handled their problems respectfully and as adults without a lot of blame and drama. I would have liked a bit more time watching these two as a couple before they got to the I Love You/proposal stage but none the less Naked Heat was an extremely enjoyable story.

Hotness Rating 3 out of 5
Naked Heat is the seventh book of the Naked Cowboys series by Desiree Holt. I liked this book, but didn't love it. I must admit that I haven't read any of the previous books of the series and maybe that was the problem, but I'm not positive. I just didn't feel any heat between the characters.
Andrew "Mac" McDaniel lost his twin sister to a drunk driver. A drunk driver that left the scene of the accident. At first the police seemed to investigate, but eventually lost interest or was told to lose interest in finding the guilty party. Mac, not being able to let it go has now narrowed his search to the small town of Saddle Wells. To help things along Mac buys a rundown ranch and decides to pose as a new resident so that he can get a closer look at the people of the small community. Mac has had one thing and one thing only on his mind since his sister's death and that is to bring the person who caused her death to justice. So, when the super sexy realtor shows him the available properties that fits his needs he has no business feeling the feelings he is.
Nida Beloit has no interest in romance. After years of bad choices she's given up on men and is focusing only on her career. But, when the handsome and visibly troubled Mac shows up to look at the properties she has found for him she can't trust her own instincts when it comes to the attraction she immediately feels.
I enjoyed the quirky characters in this town and felt for Mac on so many levels. I even like Nida and liked her as a character. I just never felt a true connection between the characters. The sizzle and heat seemed like written words more than true feeling.

Naked Cowboys and Desiree Holt continue to stoke the embers of sexiness and suave as she once again takes us on a visit to Saddle Wells for another hot and sizzling love story.
Andrew Mac McDaniel has only goal in life and that is to bring to justice the guy who was responsible for his twin sister’s death. His quest for justice brings him to Saddle Wells as his final destination to plot his kind of justice. And Saddle Wells and Nadia seem to grow on Mac and this may very well be the place to set roots.
As one of the top realtors for her area, Nadia has gone through some painful experience that brings her to Saddle Wells to sprout new roots. The citizens of Saddle Wells look out for each other and with a steady group of some amazing women, Nadia makes a life on her terms. Quiet and normal disappear the minute Mac walks in through her door.
With well meaning but matchmaking friends and their blessings, Nadia and Mac succumb to the sparks of attraction and very soon are burning down the walls around their hearts. Another intense, short and captivating read “Naked Heat” makes our hearts race with anticipation. Desiree Hold is damn good with writing novellas that seem to flow seamlessly page after page.
Another short and riveting love story “Naked Heat” has enough sizzle to heat up the sheets!

Love or revenge? That's the theme of Desiree Holt's latest book, Naked Heat. To be fair, it is, in fact, a dilemma to try to decide if you want to let go of your search for justice or revenge in favor of falling in love with someone and living your lives together. Actually, that shouldn't be a difficult choice, but if you've been driven toward revenge for too long, that's going to be difficult to let go.
I noticed that lately, Ms. Holt's books aren't that explicit as her previous books. I'm not saying it's a bad thing. I just noticed that she's now focusing more on the story than the sex. I think it's a good thing. The books are still hot and steamy, but they also have more substance now.
Anyway, I've definitely enjoyed this series. This newest installment is just another good, solid read that will surely entertain readers. If you're a fan, you will definitely love this book. If you are new, you don't have to read from the very first book. However, you may decide to do that anyway because this series is packed with good stories and steamy romance.

Electricity sizzles between Andrew “Mac” McDaniel and Nida Beloit but his obsession is tearing them apart in this sensational contemporary western romance.
Mac was alone hunting for the drunk driver who killed his twin sister but since arriving in Saddle Wells he has more help than he wanted or thought he needed and the reader is drawn into this emotionally gripping but smoldering hot romance as Nida takes a serious interest in helping him. The attraction is hot enough to burn even the emotionally distant Mac and the sex scenes are smoking hot but the relationship is hindered by Mac’s need for revenge. The characters are strong, compelling and capture the heart and the fast paced and smooth flowing plot captivates readers with suspense and romance while the people of Saddles Wells invite you to join their growing town.
A visit to Saddle Wells is never boring, that’s for sure, there’s always a friendly smile, a helping hand, a sense of community and hot and spicy passion to be found and I certainly enjoyed my visit with Mac and Nida, even if it was just a quickie.

Nida Beloit moved to Saddle Wells for a fresh start four years ago. She now runs a successful real estate and has mad lifelong friends with a group of women and their partners that live there.
Andrew “Mac” McDaniel lost his twin sister when a drunk driver ran her off the road. What made it worse was that the driver wasn’t caught not because the police didn’t know who it was but because of who he was!
Mac’s leads have led him to Saddle Wells so he has bought himself a beat up ranch where he can lay low and find who killed his sister. When Mac meets Nida it is the first time he has thought of something other than his sister since her death and he is instantly riddled with guilt. Can Mac realise what is in front of him and when he is offered help will he accept or will his anger be too much for him to let go.

Love this one!
Another great story in the Naked Cowboys series. Ms. Holt sure has a way with telling a story and this one is a dandy.
Troubled by his sister's death and the fact her death has been swept under the rug, Mac moves to Saddle Wells in an effort to find the guy responsible. The gang in Saddle Wells rally around Mac in an effort to help him find the hit and run driver that killed his sister. But in return Mac finds so much more!

While the story and its underling tragic circumstances make for emotional and interesting reading, I just never really connected to Mac’s character.
A good book, but not one of my personal favourites.
