I'm not a big fan of the elf on the shelf which encourages children to focus on avoiding being naughty. But I am a fan of this concept which encourages children to be 'North Pole ninjas' and sneak around doing good deeds. The package even includes ideas for good deeds that can be done, and an adorable sensei.

My Review: I picked this up on a whim for Munchkin from the Scholastic book order and it turned out the be one of the best purchases I have made in a while! We have recently been struggling with the "give me" and "I wants" thanks to the holiday season and commercials, so I have been looking for a way to incorporate random acts of kindness, but he hasn't shown any interest. Luckily, we have the North Pole Ninjas to the rescue, these secretive elves give kids secret missions of kindness to perform during the holiday season (and year round). With that fun element, Munchkin has been all about helping others. This kit comes with the book, a sensei elf doll, and a folder with an agreement for the kids to fill out and a bunch of missions to complete. The missions include things like: Take a bag of groceries to your local food bank, bring homemade goods to someone who needs a pick me up, hold the door for someone. They all seem relatively easy for young kids and families and gets the message across what the holidays are really about in a fun way for everyone. I highly recommend this one and get it early so kids have time to finish some missions!

f you are looking for a book to inspire good deeds this holiday season, North Pole Ninjas Mission: Christmas may just be the book for you. Tyler Gregson and Sarah Linden have developed a cute story based on Santa and his elves. The North Pole Ninjas are secret elves who spend their Christmas giving. They use their Christmas spirit to care for the needs of others. I love the concept behind the book and think it could be used to spur children to think about giving rather than getting this holiday season.

Piper Thibodeau chose bold colors for her illustrations in North Pole Ninjas. They have a Christmas feel to them. Her background with Dreamworks Studios has influenced her style of art. I think kids will enjoy looking at the pictures as well as hearing the story.

The book includes 30 cards of ideas for things children can do for others during the holiday season.

I want to thank Penguin Workshop and Penguin Publishers for the review copy of this book. I was not required to give a positive review. I am grateful for the opportunity to participate in this holiday blog tour.

A beautiful little christmas picture book that even includes little christmas missions for kids to pursue in order to make their little world a better place for everyone. I loved the idea and the execution, the pictures are beautiful and the reader immediately feels the love that has gone into this project.

What impressed me most was the fact that the kids are asked to do their good deeds in private, without announcing them to the world. In a time when everyone is on social media and has to broadcast every little good thing they do to make sure as many people as possible see it, I think this idea of doing good deeds in private without boasting about them is something this world needs and that more people should adhere to.

Special forces elves are recruited to help to do good deeds in the community. Santa needs the help of all good children and the North Pole Ninjas. The artwork is really adorable and the message is heartwarming. Enjoy
