Tulsa, Oklahoma, 1999.

Born on the day after the moon landing to a father with his head in the stars, Neil "Apollo" Armstrong has never felt that he could reach as high as his father's dreams. He got as far as Tulsa, and there, with the Brazen Bulls MC, he found a way to fly on wheels. But he's worried now that the club has lost its way.

The Bulls are reeling from a bloody, blazing street war that tore through the heart of the club. Their brotherhood has been badly damaged, and the trust among them is fragile.

Jacinda Durham doesn't have a lot of trust to give. With a painful past still weighing on her present, she keeps people at a distance, preferring inconsequential encounters, to guard against the chance of being hurt. The career she's chosen is another piece of her armor; she makes a living of suspicion.

After a blistering-hot night together, Apollo and Jacinda go their separate ways, despite a mutual sense that their attraction is deeper than skin. Then a fateful coincidence throws them violently back together, and Apollo finds himself standing between his club and a woman he barely knows, each a possible threat to the other. Where his loyalty lies should be clear, but his trust in the Bulls is shaken, and he can't allow another innocent to be hurt.

It's more than a question of loyalty. It's love as well, a deeply rooted love for his club, and a powerful new love growing between him and this tough, beautiful woman who's offered him her precious trust.

To save all he loves, Apollo must put everything on the line-his honor, his love, his life. He will have to pay the price that settles all their debts.

Note: explicit sex and violence.

I was born and raised in the Midwest, but I was transplanted into the dusty soil of Northern California and have apparently taken root there. An inveterate geek and gamer, I am a fan of many things considered pop culture and maybe even lowbrow.

As a reader, my favorite genres are science fiction and fantasy, but as a writer, I've found my home in romance--or perhaps it's better to say simply "love stories." I have a yen to try other genres, too, at some point, but for now my muse wants to tell stories about lovers and families.

I write for the joy of it, and I write stories that I want to read. If others like them, too, that's just the cherry on top. I’m not interested in rules and formulae. I follow my muse and my characters and let them take me where they want to go, wherever that might be. I like big emotions, dark and light.

I like complicated characters with flaws and weaknesses as well as strengths, and I like each character’s strengths and weaknesses to be different from those of other characters. I’m much more concerned that my characters be interesting and diverse than that they be widely considered to be likable. I try to create people, not types.

Likewise, I want my stories each to be distinct from the others. Once I’ve told a story, I don’t want to tell it again. So even within a series, one of my books might be very different from the next. Some might be very dark, others equally mild.

That isn’t to say there aren’t trends and recurrences in my work. I’m drawn to certain themes and settings, and my muse has her favorite toys and tools. But I guard against those tendencies becoming a formula.

Meet Apollo

description

Apollo is one sexy beast of a man. His sheer size appealed to me because he never used his size to try and control a situation with his love interest, Jacinda. He did, however, use his good looks to manipulate women prior to meeting his match with Jacinda.

Lola has a strong presence in this book. For Ms. Fanetti fans you'll know who I'm talking about when I mention Lola. She's Ms. Fanetti's muse who loves to put the hurt on her favorite characters. Apollo and Jacinda were no stranger to having the hurt put on them. I had a couple moments while reading this book, where I thought I might possibly have a heart attack because of the stress Lola was putting me through. Well, not just me but on Apollo and Jacinda too. *lol*

I have to laugh when I think back to when Ms. Fanetti shared a pre-release teaser for the book. I remember thinking the title actually read - Horror not Honor. Maybe my brain knew Lola was going to love these characters so much that they weren't going have an easy time finding their HEA (happily ever after).

Apollo's dad summed up the essence of this book:

"Then I'm not disappointed in you. I know you're a good man. I trust in that. And I know that sometimes doing the thing that's supposed to be right sits wrong on a man's heart. I also know that too many people follow the rules and still treat the world like a garbage heap. I don't care about rules. I care about honor. That's how you'd let me down, son. If you acted without honor. Even if you were following the rules."

HONOR is the fifth book in Brazen Bulls MC series. You can read this series without having read any of the other MC series Ms. Fanetti has written, so far. This series is set back, in time, before her other series … in the 90’s. If you love the thrill of intense scenes mixed with strong characters than this series is for you! ACTUALLY, ALL of Ms. Fanetti's books are for you. There's no sugarcoating happening in these books. The characters are strong and battle through each situation to come out a better version of themselves.

PICK UP THIS SERIES AND READ IT!

June 2020 - This one takes on a level of trust and loyalty like no other and puts those traits to the ultimate test. Apollo and Jacinda surprised me even the second time around and reminded me of the way we come to accept family and friendship and love.

5+ "...and to do it with fire." Stars

Susan Fanetti boldly continues the fascinating chronicles of her Brazen Bulls MC with Honor, book five. Showcasing once again Fanetti's immense depth for her beloved characters and her brilliant penchant to take readers on dark, twisted journeys, Honor takes big steps forward in the life and family of the Bulls.

I always highlight the strength of the Fanetti female lead with each new story released. Jacinda is no exception here. Her background, job, and family are interesting facets to the kind of woman she is and her quest for rightness in the world. When she's turned upside down and inside out after meeting Apollo readers are thrust into the breadth of her morals, passion, and deep seeded love for those things she values most. There's a certain stability to this character that makes you instantly comfortable with who she is, a true testament to the precise development and care Susan Fanetti takes with her characters.

With another strong female lead possessing those poignant and stunning traits of a Fanetti heroine in check, we get to know and experience Neil "Apollo" Armstrong intimately. Resident play boy of the Bulls, built like a Greek God and not shy about it, Apollo turns readers inside out with his rooted loyalty, strong moral compass, and protective nature. I didn't know what to expect from this character going into Honor and what I got from Apollo will never be forgotten. He's the hero of this entire series thus far in the saga. His willingness to accept his family as they come, to make certain their strong and whole comes at a price only the strongest would be willing to pay. These heavy characteristics carry over into his blossoming relationship with Jacinda making it hard to resist his innate charm. This character astounded me. He has a glue about him that holds things together in a way you'll find unexpected and yet completely at ease with who he really is when he lets someone see the real him.

Vulnerable yet strong.
Curious yet loyal.
Unassuming yet brilliant.
Dark yet so, so bright.
The fearless characters. The developed, on-going, engaging plot. The exquisite, mindful writing.

I'm always in awe of Susan Fanetti's keen gift of story telling. It's as solid and brilliant as ever in Honor and her important voice comes through loud and clear. This book is an experience meant to be felt. It's about the choices we make as humans. About the love we give and loyalty in which we have to strive for in our lives. It's about the importance of self-identity and strong personal character. If you haven't yet met the Brazen Bulls of Tulsa, Oklahoma you're missing out on the thrills and chills of an epic MC series.

This author never fails. I’ve read practically all her books and the last two other MC series included and the storyline is always intense! Full of gut wrenching intrigue and drama…. girl don’t even get me started, cause I’ve cried my own river.

But out of all the bikers and mind you I’ve loved them all. My all time favorites have been Havoc, Nolan and now I’m proudly adding Apollo.
description
Their phenomenal stories are heartbreakingly tragic! There’s nothing these men wouldn’t do for their club…absolutely nothing but sometimes danger doesn’t always come from the outside. Ahhhhh drives me insane cause its already over!

If you’re into MC’s and want a realistic comradery brotherhood and a taste of the life, then this is the perfect five star read for you! Happy reading, enjoy!

Pretty good.

Not bad read, although I kind of expected more from Susan Fanetti.
It was a pretty typical read, especially if you're used to MC books and if you've read this series before. It's not the best book out of these but it's not the worst either. So, just a decent read, nothing special but worth reading, I guess.

I'm trying to find things to say about this one but I'm kind of out of ideas, so here's a cup of coffee (nothing's better than a cup of coffee).

The way Apollo had to earn his loyalty back was complete bullshit! Absolute fucking bullshit!! And no one is pissed? Everyone’s all one big happy family?? For a club that keeps saying they don’t hurt innocents, I can name quite a few off the top of my head immediately. But nothing happens to the president. He doesn’t have to justify shit. But Apollo??

If this is the sort of bullshit Fanetti is writing these days, I’m out.

ETA (because I’m still fucking pissed!!): he should’ve walked away. I could have understood had I felt the club had really been there for him and given him a sense of belonging and home. But no. He had loving parents, a good home life. It was HIM bending over backwards and doing everything he could for the club, NOT the other way around. I wish he’d told them to fuck off, grabbed Jacinda and just left. Because the club didn’t deserve his loyalty when they never did anything for him. The ending killed this book for me in such a huge way that I very much doubt I’ll read this author again.

Whenever I start a Susan Fanetti book, I know three things. One, I'll love the bold and SMART heroine, two, the story will be a compelling page turner and three, I'll fall for the hot as fu** alpha biker who would go through fire (literally in this case) for the woman he loves.

Another great installment of the Brazen Bulls!

Decent story but some parts annoyed me (I felt the mistrust from the club was a bit much as was what they did to Apollo)

Honor is another fabulous addition to the Brazen Bulls series. The heroine Jacinda is my kind of heroine. She’s overcome a difficult trauma from her past. Doesn’t let it define her, it only makes her stronger but it has broken something within her. Her ability to trust men and their intentions. Apollo is such a great man who uses his charms and good looks to get intel on behalf of his club. Doesn’t have any problems with sexual favors cause he’s never been in love or in relationship. His club is his life.
When he meets Jacinda and vice versa it changes everything for the both of them. The only issue is Jacinda’s occupation which cause problems between her and Apollo and between him and the club.
The title of the book says it all. Honor! That’s what’s Apollo is all about. The sacrifice he makes for his club and the woman he loves is insane. It’s barbaric but it captures the MC world and environment perfectly. It’s also the reason why I enjoy this series so much.

I really think, in a lot of ways, this series is as good as Signal Bend. The early Night Horde MC makes a cameo in this story about the tech guy for the Brazen Bulls, Apollo. Ms Fanetti seems to feel at home when writing about the Midwest. I like it when authors write what they know.

This story is just wonderful, although there was a place I just had to stop reading and walk off for a while it was just...

Highly recommended series. Start from the beginning.

One of undisputed Queens of OMC fiction Honor is the latest instalment in her Brazen Bulls series set in the 1990's. Once again Ms Fanetti draws the reader into this strange world of biker culture where violence and misogyny rule but these men who refuse to live by the rules of society do have their own code of morals. And this is what she explores in this instalment. Certainly out there by everyday standards it is her skill of portraying the emotions of these men, the reasons for what they do and how they impact on those they love that makes a Fanetti novel such a great reading experience.

Again Susan Fanetti has written a story about love within and outside the family as well as honor and integrity. All I can say about Neil "Apollo" Armstrong is that I'm over the moon about him. He's definitely one of my favorite heroes now. Jacinda is a strong heroine and they make a perfect match. At thirty years old they find their soul mates and even though they go through some real hard knocks they both realize their love is strong enough to see them through. The Bulls come off, at first, as real asses but in the end you feel the love of the brotherhood and the sense of family between them all. Not only did I love the relationship between Apollo and Jacinda, I truly loved his feelings for his parents. A great book that in usual Fanetti style has a lot of grit but oh so much more feeling. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

I really enjoyed this book. Susan has a way of captivating me from the first page and keeping me hooked. I adored Apollo. I loved his name, his parents, his background, everything. I loved that Jacinda was a PI and a tough heroine. She’s had a lot to overcome and Apollo was able to help her. She in turn was there to help him when he needed it as well. I admit that I’m still mulling over Apollo’s test of loyalty. It saddened me, angered me and left me feeling unsettled. I didn’t like Apollo being the scapegoat and I did my best to understand it from a Bulls perspective.

this one was okay and certainly worth reading if you’ve liked the Brazen Bulls story so far. I think my problem with this one is I didn’t really feel the connection between Jacinda and Apollo, they seemed to fall in love very quickly, would have liked more of a build up. Storyline was just okay but nothing special for me. Favourite book in the series for me so far is Gunner’s.

I didn’t love this one. I liked it to a certain point and my understanding could only go so far.

This was the first time I did not like the club and their decisions. Their actions should have had some consequences but they took everything out on one person. The club is paranoid and justifying their actions this time did not work for me.

I know love makes you blind but it can’t wipe out all reason..can it? It seemed to. This is the first book by this author I couldn’t say I loved. It won’t stop me from reading more, but I was so not on board this time.

As always I'm left fully happy, and in love with another Bull.

Apollo was not what I was expecting. I'm not sure what I was expecting to be honest, but I know I'd love him exactly like Jacinda does. And he really, REALLY deserved to have someone special. And Jacinda is indeed special. She was dealt things no one should have to EVER deal with. It broke my heart. But how she came back, strong and resilient. She was amazing and she was definitely the right choice for Apollo.

It's nice to pick up a book and to feel connected to the characters, such a big, tough family. I can't believe it's book 5!.

As always, I'll wait patiently for the next installment. And I'm sure I will learn another word or so. It's like an English lesson.

SF does MC perfectly.

It was a great love story and a safe one.
As safe as can be considering it's SF's book, right? Because no one was killed but it had LOT of bloody violence nonetheless.

And because,

Another fantastic book from Ms. Fanetti! Apollo and Jacinda meet in a bar and have a one night stand. Of course, they meet up again and are in a situation that the Bulls have gotten involved. There are quite a few "hold my breath" times in this book. I loved this couple. Can't wait for her next one!

I’ve felt throughout this series, and Honour is no different, that there’s something lacking. There’s no heart in this club, no glue, I don’t understand the characters or their actions.

It’s a well worn story line but I knew that before I started reading. I want the extras, the fluff, the love, the romance but I think the author’s skipped that in favour of formula and getting to a particular “point” in the series.

I feel disconnected.

Loving this series!

Honor, the fifth book in the Brazen Bull series is a daunting reflection on the choices made in life by Apollo. Neil Apollo Armstrong is a strong, determined and reliable man who discovers the harsh realities of what it entails to be an honorable man. A chance decision to buy Jacinda Durham a drink leads to a lot more than either of them imagined.

Jacinda leaves Apollo in no doubt of her boundaries and is adamant she is only up for a one night stand. Apollo is used to calling the shots and gets a dose of his own medicine when Jacinda dictates their unplanned dalliance. The entertaining banter between drinks to good morning was a brilliant set up to the story. Details were withheld by both which came through as a tactic they each discovered didn’t bide well in practice.

Sharing all is a gutsy move bound to leave a person vulnerable. Holding back information with the hindsight of time can prove a fateful error. Finding the right moment to open up to others is never an easy call. A lesson both Apollo and Jacinda learn the hard way.

Loving and caring moments feature prominently throughout the story. Being a couple who had just hit 30, they provide a laid back, no nonsense approach to life. Serendipity or fate accelerates the romance a lot faster than expected. Jacinda is torn between her heart and memories of a past relationship that cost her dearly. Apollo is determined not to bring more heartbreak into her world but his ability to protect her is beyond his control. A hard pill to swallow for a man who has chosen a life etched clearly on honor, loyalty and trust.

There was a major call that ripped my heart into shreds. I struggled to comprehend how and why it was accepted. It was barbaric and I was sure it would taint my overall reading experience. While I haven’t forgotten, I did move on because the story did, but getting through the last few chapters took me longer than I thought it would. I loved the ending and the way the story came together.

The section of the story that unsettled me took up a relatively small portion of the book. What is important to reiterate was the witty lines and candid conversations took me to my happy book space. Honor was a love story between two people in the prime of their life who together found their way to contentment. Hoping there will be more tales from the Brazen Bull MC soon!

What I struggled with:
-Jacinda’s parents at times
-Rules and consequences

What I loved:
-Apollo’s parents
-The steamy action
-Jacinda’s down to earth personality
-Apollo’s patience

My issue with this book lies entirely on the fact that the so called club family and club politics abhorred me.

Did I like the couple in this book? Yes
Did I like their story separate from the club issues? Yes
Do I like the individual MCs? Yes and No (the No is again because of their acceptance of the club politics)

This book dealt very much with the way the club was run and how loyalty and honour and brotherhood was used as a reason to assert dominance and be ruthless and cruel despite being a hypocrite (I’m talking about the president of the club but also about all the members who were cowardly enough to not question and just follow a deranged man like blind sheep)

After this book, my reading experience of the rest of them will not be the same, it simply cannot be the same. I don’t wanna read of Delaney (the prez) ever again. I don’t to read about him or dialogue involving him and I can’t believe that Apollo and the heroine treat him like a father still. If I was the heroine and someone did what they did to the man I love, I would never - NEVER be able to look at them let alone speak with them without spitting in their face (as the least I could do).

The club seems to preach togetherness and loyalty when it serves them, there’s no equality and I wouldn’t raise my children to know those men and women and call them uncles and grandparents. Just no!

3.75 - 4.0 ***

I liked both Jacinda and Apollo. They made a great couple. Thankfully Apollo didn't sleep with other women after meeting Jacinda. That was a welcome relief in a motorcycle club story. I'm so tired of MC books containing public sex or the H cheating in front of the h. There was none of that in this story. I really did think the club went overboard in punishing Apollo. It seemed as though such an extreme scene was added to the book to provide some angst. It wasn't necessary IMO and detracted from the love story. I dropped my rating from a 4.5 because of the gruesomeness.
