He was the Chief Inspector of Ancient Monuments at Historic Scotland and responsible for the nomination of the Antonine Wall as a World Heritage Site.

Typically dense, but concise, Shire Archaeology review: this one being an essay on the development of forts in Roman Britain. It seems they weren't as standard as historians would have us believe.
