Weird obsessive love with hot ass smut.

That's basically the best description for this book ever. Dirty Obsession was so weird at some points. It had a dash of cringing and a teaspoon of swoon-worthy smut.

In this book, you meet Nina and Arlo. They both have this weird obsessive long thing for another but of course there's also some weird ass mafia game in play. At first, I didn't even like Nina. She gave me the creeps but hey if they both love each other with the same weird reasons - then hey, that's good for them. Of course every one in this book tries to mindfuck the other person. It also got super annoying as well. At one point, if I'm being completely honest, I didn't think she was going to choose either of these assholes - just so she could get out of this weird mafia game thing.

Arlo was hot as fuck. I did end up shipping them together, but once a twin brother was thrown into the mix as a love triangle interest - well I definitely lost interest. I hate love triangles and having sex with both brothers numerous times made me cringe so hard. It was definitely a turn off and I wanted to rush through those scenes so badly.

Now I love smut like any other person.. but sometimes the smut is way too fucking weird for me to enjoy reading. Again, it makes me cringe so hard that I don't even want to read anymore of that said book. The ending was a bit predictable and I have no idea if I want to dive into that book right now. I'll have to wait and see what the twin thinks of this book..

Gonna tell it like it is... This book is fucked up. Like straight fucked up. I had to talk myself into finishing this book on more than one occasion. More than twice. Even more than three times. I have never read anything so fucked up in my life. I don’t even want to go into any specifics of this book. That’s how fucked it is. And I just can’t.

Three stars is probably generous but whatevs. The guys kinda redeem themselves? I don’t know. Just glad I finished it. And I will not be continuing. Mostly because Nope. Just nope.

Dirty Obsession is a raw, powerful and gritty romance. This book is very dark and intense. It will not appeal to all and if you are sensitive to dark subject matter you might want to pass on this book. If you embrace the dark grab a copy because this book will grab you and keep hold until you reach the end. I'm posting a voluntary review after reading an advance copy of this book.

Wow, what the hell did I just read?!

Nina was a pathetic little girl playing with fire in the prequel, Dirty Beginning. Here in Dirty Obsession, she's still crazy, but she's grown up a little. She still has obsessive tendencies, but she's curbed them a tad. But then she's brought back into Arlo's twisted world and all bets are off. Will she survive what he and his family have in store for her? Does he actually have feelings for her or is she the only one who was obsessed?

I can't say that I ever liked Nina or Arlo, or anyone else in this story except Heath and Eden, but I will say that their story is entertaining and twistedly absurd. It's not as dark as a lot of stuff I've read, but it's not all flowers and sunshine, either. So beware, this is not really Ella Miles' usual kind of story. It's really twisted and there's lots of stuff happening in the grey and black areas of life. The ending is cliffy-ish, so I'm going to assume another installment is coming. I hope so!

I received an ARC for an honest review.

The first thing that came to mind when I finished this book was WTF did I just finish?

🎆🎆 This book will give you a book hangover🎆🎆

I read Dirty Beginnings, but if you haven't that's okay. This one starts there. This is a messed up book, don't expect a sweet and cuddly romance here! This is a down and dirty, nasty, and a messed up book that is freaking awesome!

I loved Arlo in the first book and we knew Nina was a mess with her problems. But this book picks up 7 years later. Nina has worked on her issues and is preparing herself for when Arlo comes for her.

Arlo knows where she has been all this time. He knows her life is not going to be easy, hell she might not live through it. But he has no choice but to get her.

This book has rape, MF, MFM, depression, beatings and an HEA somewhat. Like I said it is a messed up wonderfully written story.

I voluntarily read an advance reader copy for my honest review.

Stopped at 24% as not happy with the storyline and the main heroes. Nina in particular did not win me over. I found her obsession with Arlo bit ... what shall I say... stupid(?), immature(?) can’t continue reading it, since I have more exciting books on my to read list. Plus I suspect Mateo the identical twin brother is going to mingle creating love/sex triangle, which I’m not interested in.

This is another one of those dark romances. I'm trying to get used to them but it is hard. The only thing that makes these types of books okay is they end up together. The bad guy usually changes too. In this we have Nina and Arlo. They go through hell. Sadly, it's not over for them. I've already read the book involving his brother Matteo.

To describe this book, the idea of a haunted hause at a carnival fair comes to mind. If you like it, you may get a nice thrill, but it's all fake and exaggerated. In the beginning of the book Arlo tells Nina she's just a spoiled rich airhead girl that cannot stand it if she doesn't get her way. That covers the way I feel about her at the end of the book. The story tells of Arlo being shot at several separate instances, even in the stomach. He is often bleeding a lot, but apparently suffers no real trauma. Nina is supposedly brutalised and raped by Enrico, but that part of the story is more or less glossed over, because things might become too real. Six women have been killed by Arlo's family between the beginning and the end of the story, but why would Nina care when both Arlo and his brother are in her bed, roughly fucking her ass when she is still faint and weak from her wounds. If you would enjoy that, you may also enjoy this book.

While there was some great writing on every page, I could not connect with the heroine or quite get a handle on where we were going in the story.

I'm def going to try more Ella Miles. She pushed the boundary limits for storytelling and went a bit further than most would go. But I just could not like the hero or heroine. I didn't get why they acted the way they did. She was more obsessed than I like. And once the orgy and dungeon scenes happened, I'd lost interest in the hero.

Regardless, I will check out more Ella Miles because like I said, there was some excellent writing on each page, I just couldn't connect with the story.

**I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest voluntary review. All opinions are my own and not influenced by my source.**

Ella Miles never fails to disappoint me when it comes to her books. I always think I'm going to get one story but I end up with another--one that never fails to entertain and surprise me. This one is no exception.

This is probably one of the darkest romances I've ever read. It's deliciously dark and twisted which means it isn't for the faint of heart. If you don't enjoy dark erotic romances, don't pick this up! But if you do, you are in for a treat!

This story did keep me on my toes. You always get the sense that there is more lurking underneath with all the characters involved and I loved the tension that brought to the story. I became a little obsessed (pun intended) trying to figure out what was happening and why. And the twists when everything is revealed (and how it ties back to the novella, Dirty Beginning): awesome.

That being said, I do wish the "game" was allude to more than it was throughout the novel. Just some little hints along the way would have been great. Even though the game is always afoot, I felt like we got a little too wrapped up in the sex scenes at times and I wanted a little more insight into the "why" of it all.

I can't wait to see what happens next!

Oh wow, just wow, yup this the kind of book that totally messed up with my head in a good way and I love it.
This book is full of surprises and twists, there's always something that I don't expect in every turn. It's not as dark as I expect it to be, but still I can't put it down, it keeps me on my toes wondering will they survive this twisted story and that ending..again..wow, didn't see that coming.
I really enjoy the dark path that Nina and Arlo went through, I love their banter, the hotness they're bring and then there's Matteo and Enrico, oh yeah you have to read this one to know who are these guys.

If you love dark twisted romance, even if you don't, this one definitely a MUST-READ one.

Although I thought this book was amazing and it was deliciously dark and kind of disturbing and super hot I had to take a star away because I hate I repeat I absolutely hate love triangles it just makes me so mad! Not sure if there's a book 3 I will read it. I say this because I don't want to see two brothers pining for the same woman again and to be honest she wasn't that spectacular anyway so I don't see the thrill of her so if this is a continuation of a love triangle I may not be reading the 3rd book.

Not gonna lie - there are definitely triggers inside these pages. This is another dark series from Ella - fantastically written but seriously dark and twisted. You've been warned.

This is undoubtedly dirty (with actual dirt as well as the things that your dirty mind immediately circled to) with several obsessive characters. The relationships that make up Nina's life range from simple and loving to destructive to severely complicated. Oh, and the multiple partners scenes are hot!

Dirty Obsession (ARC) by Ella Miles: **** Good but dark, twisted
This is a dark story with both consensual relations (this heroine unabashedly enjoys lots of s3x) and non consensual/brutal, twisted (but not overly graphic). It kept me reading to the very end - with kinda a HFN, but more darkness looms reaching into the next book.

Nina ends up a slave to the Carini family, forced to sign a document where she is theirs to do with as they please for 7 years. A game is being played and it seems Nina is one of the pieces. Will she make it out of this alive? Fast-paced intense read with loads of drama and suspense. I was hooked from beginning to end. I loved it!

An Engrossing Dark Read! Some Details Are Overly Simplified Or Skirted Altogether, Yet It Captures The Imagination.

Nina Young, twenty-two, is alone in the world save for her childhood best friend Eden, whom people often confuse as her sister. Eden sticks with Nina and supports her despite her numerous troubles with men. Nina's addictive personality began to manifest as an obsession with finding a cure for her ailing father years ago, then shifted to obsessions with the many men in her life. The latest left her with a restraining order and months of therapy.

Now graduate students studying art history, Nina and Eden attend a one-month study abroad program in Italy. When Nina sees the handsome man set to give her class a tour of a beautiful historic mansion, she is taken aback. He stares at her shamelessly with an emotionless intensity that sets her on fire in spite of herself. She knows that allowing herself to indulge in thoughts of this broody man will undo the progress she has made in therapy, but she cannot help herself.

Arlo Carini, an Oxford grad, runs a multi-billion dollar company. He is from a powerful and mysterious Italian family with a long and rich history. His family is feared and revered. Arlo has so many beautiful women that it surprises him to find that he is helplessly drawn to Nina Young. A relationship is impossible, but he cannot get her out of his mind. It excites him each time he sees her, but her obsession of him is a problem, and he turns her away repeatedly. But Nina is no ordinary woman. She saved him. And Arlo is determined to save her if only she will cooperate.

Nina and Arlo have incredible chemistry! They are truly a perfect match - Arlo's outrageously mixed signals are as radical as Nina's obsession is with him. They are quickly obsessed with one another, yet Arlo continues warn her away.

Nina manages to place herself in the center of a deadly Carini family game, pitting Arlo against his sweet but terrifying brother Matteo. But their father poses a threat as well. Without knowing the rules of the game, strong and defiant Nina must develop her own strategy if she hopes to survive the nightmare. And Arlo must deal with the self-loathing that holds him back.

There are several issues which may bother some readers. First, it never feels necessary for Nina to have been saved by Arlo's family. He could have easily intercepted Clive and Erick, calling bouncers, the police, and an ambulance if needed. It is later insinuated that Clive and Erick come from a dangerous but less powerful family, and again the need for such drastic action is not explained. The seven million dollar price is similarly not explained or justified. Next, early in the story Arlo warns that Matteo is horrible, yet later he says Matteo is a much better man than him. The reader never really does see Matteo's unique dark tendencies. Another mystery, the mansion is full of activity before Nina runs, but for the remainder of the book there is almost no activity. The women appear to be absent without an explanation. Additionally, given Nina's memory loss, seven years seems an unreasonabke amount of time for her to believe she is in danger. Rescuing her shouldn't logically have warranted all the aftermath. She might have considered the contact, if remembered, a scare tactic simply to cure her obsession of Arlo and get rid of her. Finally, there is too much contradiction when the men describe their feelings. They come across as wishy washy, not strong.

This is the first book in the series. It ends with a HFN followed by a cliffhanger. The next book follows Matteo and Eden. If you can stomach ignoring the cliffhanger, this book reads fine as a stand-alone.

This is an engrossing dark read that keeps you on the edge of your seat. It is well-written with only a few minor errors. The POV alternates between Nina, Arlo, and Matteo. The plot is complex. The mystery of the game and the players unfolds enticingly slowly. However, it lacks key details which are overly simplified or skirted altogether, asking the reader to just have faith. It doesn't all fit perfectly together. There are several loose ends which take time to wrap up at the end, and it unfortunately interferes with the flow. The characters are well-developed, but it would be an improvement if they were portrayed more consistently. That said, even with its limitations, this book captures the imagination and keeps your attention. I rate this book four stars.

After Nina has been on the run from her kidnappers for awhile she decides that it's time to stop running and settle down. She meets Heath while working in a bar, and 6 days later they tie the knot. She thinks that by getting married Arlo won't come after her, boy was she wrong. On her wedding day Arlo shows up, follows her to a nightclub and abducts her husband. He's willing to trade Heath for Nina, so of course that's what Nina does.

Nina works herself into the minds and hearts of her captors - both Arlo and his twin brother Mateo. Although she does her best to keep her head in 'the game' and get Arlo and Mateo on her side, she ends up falling for both of them for different reasons. While Mateo seems to be more open and affectionate, willing to 'play' things the way Nina wants to - Arlo is still the dark brooding type that she knows can make her body sing. Enrico is just evil all the way around and she knows it's best to avoid him at all costs.

Once she gets away from her captors (after one serious choice that she was forced to make) she goes back to her husband. Nina's best friend points out that neither her or Heath are happy and Nina convinces Heath to take a 30 day break. On the final day of their break Nina receives a letter and divorce papers from her husband, and shortly thereafter finds herself back with Arlo and on the run again.

While Arlo and Nina truly do love one another and want to be with each other, Nina receives a call from her best friend...only it isn't her friend on the line...it's Mateo! Mateo was calling to info Nina that he has Eden and has had her for the past year....cliffhanger!! Guess we'll just have to wait until the next book is released to see how that little turn of events plays out.

Mind blowing start to the Dirty series.

Nina has always had a problem with obsessions. When she loves, she does it all the way and it ends up becoming a problem when she gets obsessive. When she first sees Arlo she knows she wants him and she can tell by the way he looks at her he wants her too. But Arlo continually pushes her away and tells her to stay away from him because he doesn't want her in his or his family's debt. But Nina's obsessed and she will do everything she can to break down Arlo just to get a taste of him. After Arlo and his family end up saving Nina from another family, she ends up in their debt. But when she gets a little bit more information on what that means she runs. But they catch her and now she is thrust into a cruel game and she has no idea what the rules really are. She is in their debt and must be their slave for seven years. That means anyone in the immediate family can do whatever they want to her. This will be a fight for her life and Nina must figure out a way to win her freedom before she is killed. This is a great read, it does touch on some sensitive topics, but if you love a good dark romance then grab this book today and hang on for the ride of your life!!!

Very dark and with violence

I first discovered Ella Miles' writing when I started reading the Truth or Lies series and was blown away by her writing style and ability to weave together a complicated and dark story line with interesting and intriguing characters.

With Dirty Obsession Ella Miles has again started a series (let's call it the Dirty series) that has me hooked. This story is dark and twisted but oh so brilliant and fascinating. The Carini family is definitely something............what that something is will be up to the reader to decide. All I know is that I am all in for reading the rest of this series.

Now I am also going to warn that there are some really tough and possible trigger scenes in this book - rape and violence against women. So some things I had a hard time reading and had to put this book down more than a few times to go read something light and airy, to cleanse the palate so to say. But I kept coming back to this book to see what would happen next to Gia Carini. She really is a young woman who ends up going from the frying pan into the fire and back again a few times.

I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

If you have not had the pleasure of reading this author than I have to say you are missing out. I will warn you that this author writes in series where the series starts in book and ends in book six. BUT do not let this discourage you, I am not a huge fan of cliffhangers and whatnot but this author has totally pulled me in with whatever she writes. This book is no different. The story is so well worth the time and detail that it takes to tell the story. Just when you think you know what is going on and is going to happen, the most natural twist in the world comes at you that you never see coming. This book contains some trigger topics so be warned and it also takes on a darkness that is both terrifying and exhilarating. One thing I can promise, is that this book will captivate you and pull you in until you have devoured it. Truth be told, this happens with all this author's books, at least to me. All I can say is pick this one up, you will not put it down easily and you will left amazed by the twists and turns that the story will leave you trying to digest while anxiously anticipating more. Enjoy!

A dark and twisted read about a family that collects on debts from others, some may live when their debt is paid but many others don’t. The story centres around Nina, a woman who has obsessive tendencies and when she latches on, nothing deters her. Her latest “victim” is Arlo, he has a dark and twisted secret and when Nina latches onto him she becomes his “victim”. Will she escape and will Arlo come to her rescue ?
A great read with plenty of twists and turns that kept me engaged along with some very steamy scenes but also some scenes that are not for the faint at heart. The story flowed nicely but the “game” that was played was explained but not much in depth. There was also a hate/love relationship I had with the three main characters, the two men because of what they had done in the past was unforgiveable but I understood why and how obsessive Nina was at times it was very annoying. It ends in a bit of a cliffhanger after two of them find their HEA which doesn’t seem to last when one of their friends needs help.
