Dr. Marissa Frasier is an ER doctor who wakes up morning with her ex-husband William in bed next to her - dead! They didn't have a very good marriage, and William went to prison for assaulting her. Before dying, William had threatened Marissa, so she hired the Colby Agency to protect her, and Lacon Taylor is assigned the job. Marissa becomes a top suspect in William's murder. She learns that William became a mob doctor after he got out of jail, and now that mobster, Vito Anastasia, is obsessed with her, and wants Marissa to take on William's old job!
Now that Debra Webb has dropped Regan Black as a co-author, her work just goes from strength to strength! Although the plot doesn't bear such close scrutiny, and could have done with a few more complications, I decided to boost this from 3.5 to 4 stars. It's suspenseful from start to finish, with Marissa trying to find a way out of the nightmare Vito has forced her into. Indeed, Marissa is one of the big pluses in this book. She's a very strong, likable character who can think on her feet and stand up for herself! After reading about so many wishy-washy delicate bores, she was a breath of fresh air! Lacon wasn't as well developed, but likable enough as well. The romance was a bit subdued, as the focus was on the suspense.
But at least the suspense worked. I cared about what happened to Marissa, particularly because she was so brave and strong. The climax was memorable and exciting. If you like your romantic suspense with the accent on the suspense, you should definitely enjoy this one. I did.

Not only was Dr. Marissa Frasier shocked to wake up one morning to find her ex-husband next to her in bed, but he was dead! After sending him to prison for assault, they didn't have a good relationship and rarely saw each other. So why was he in her bed at all, let alone dead? She was the top suspect in his murder so the Colby Agency sent Lacon Taylor to protect her. Marissa learned that her ex had become a doctor for some unsavoury people when he got out of prison. One of which was mob boss, Vito Anastasia, who now wanted Marissa to take over the job! She was forced into taking it even though it went against everything she believed in.
Marissa is a strong, dedicated woman who you will want to cheer for and strangle both at the same time. Lacon was a hardworking, hunky, caring man we all want to read about. The suspense started on page one and kept on going to the end. Why was her ex in her bed and who killed him? Will she be next? She worked on getting out from under Vito's control so that wouldn't happen.

Debra Webb writes intriguing Romantic Suspense and although the suspense ratchets up as the book progresses I found it a bit cliche that the protector Lacon from the Colby Agency and the client Dr. Marissa Frasier become lovers. Seems to be a pattern in this series.

I absolutely love Debra Webb's writing, the stories have such effortlessly smooth flow that makes them impossible to put down. The tension sneaks up on you and keeps you on the edge, and while the protagonists have depth and likable personalities the villains are eerily frightening and sinister.
Doctor Marissa Frasier is a strong, capable and able heroine, who is not afraid to face the threats if it means saving people's lives. She is dedicated and caring, she is passionate and loving, and she can kick ass when required. She is smart, mature, and beautiful inside and out. She knows what she wants and is willing to admit it. I admired her, liked her, and was cheering for her while afraid for her.
And Colby Agency investigator Lacon Traynor from Texas couldn't have been more perfect for the sophisticated doctor. Lacon has that southern charm and smoothness, but do not let it fool you, he is more than capable to fight for you and protect you with his life. A man with sharp instincts, sense of humor, who is intelligent, competent, loves his family, helps people in need, and can cook definitely gets me swooning over him!
From the very first meeting, Marissa and Lacon are drawn to each other. The chemistry is there, their minds connect and their temperaments are alike, they recognize each other's as equals and admire each other's capabilities. With the sizzling attraction, they are just the perfect match, if they can stay alive to explore the possibilities.
The mobster boss and his army of men, their constant surveillance, threats, violence, and the deaths that seemed to surround them, and his obsession with Marissa, brought the kind of severe intensity into the tale that put me on the edge. The powerful reach of the mob, the fact that they seemed to enjoy the killings and torture, and their ears and eyes all over the town gave the tale daunting, fearsome, horrid feels.
Harsh, violent, nail-biting suspense and action mixed with sensual, delightfully charming romance that had me swooning and smiling deliver just the perfect kind of must-read romantic suspense that will keep me up at night, an unputdownable story, indeed!

This book gets your attention from the first page. I couldn’t put it down. It is full of danger and suspense along with romance. This book is part of the Colby Agency series but it could stand alone.

This book was very good and had a lot of romance and suspense in it. I enjoyed the pairing of Marissa and Lacon in this book because they complemented each other very well.
I really enjoyed Marissa as a character because she had so much spunk. I loved how she stood up to the mob boss and was not afraid to tell him how she wanted things to go. This book fit really well in the Colby Agency: Sexi-ER series.
I am giving Body of Evidence five out of five stars.

"Body of Evidence" follows Dr. Marissa (Issy) Frasier as she is first confronted by her abusive ex-husband and then framed for his murder- and targeted by the mob. Luckily, she knows someone at the hospital who has enlisted the help of the Colby Agency for her. Lacon Traynor swoops in to help her after she discovers the body of her ex-husband in her bed and sticks by her side from then forward.
Marissa is pulled into even bigger plots than she could have imagined, by the head of organized crime- Vito Anastasia. He has decided Marissa is the woman he wants to work for him as a lover and a physician. As Anastasia controls people in powerful places, Marissa is left able to trust only one person- Lacon- and luckily, he will not let her out of his sight. Together, they try to work with the police and stay alive, even when everything seems to be conspiring against them.
Overall, it's a solid romantic suspense. I felt like I didn't really get into the mindset of the major characters, particularly Lacon and Anastasia. The motives didn't always feel readily apparent and so I had a hard time getting into the thriller aspects of the book. In terms of the romance, it takes a backseat to the main plot, but when it is brought to the forefront, it's done pretty well. The flow of the book is great, and it's a pretty fast read- I read it in an afternoon easily! I never felt lost in the plot, though I did wish I had more insight into Lacon and Anastasia to really get into it more.

When Dr. Marissa (Issy) Frasier's abusive ex-husband comes to her work, her friend and co-worker suggest Issy call the Colby Agency for protection. The morning of her appointment with the Colby Agency, she wakes up groggy and in bed with her ex-husband.... her dead ex-husband. She calls the police who immediately suspect her. The Colby Agency sends sexy rugged Lacon Traynor to protect to her from whoever killed her ex husband and from the police. As she and Lacon try to uncover the truth as to who set her up, they find out that her ex was dealing with some very bad people and now they want her to pick up the work that her ex husband was doing. The police also wants Issy to work with them to catch the gang leader who they suspect might be setting her up. Lacon Traynor's job is to keep Issy safe not to fall for her. The sexual tension rises as Issy and Lacon live together at the safe house and as they are put in many life and death situations.
This is a very good suspense/thriller with romance and some hot steamy sex scenes. The sex is not overly abundant but just the right amount to make it believable. If you are looking for a sexy thriller, look no further.

This book is full of suspense and romance. The intensity of the suspense will leave you sitting on the edge wanting to know what is going to happen next. This second book by this author I have read and I look forward to reading many more. She knows how to draw her readers in and keep their attention on the story. I hated putting this story down and I want to go back and read the other books in this series as this is the first one I have read.
Marissa and Lacon are great characters. Marissa is spunky and I loved the fact that she wasn't afraid to stand up for herself even to the mob boss who is making her life hell. The chemistry between Marissa was off the charts. I hope to get more of these characters down the road, as I wanted to see some of how Lacon is with his family. There is some of this in the story as told by him but I want to have interaction between them. Hopefully we will get some of that sometime in another story.

Debra Webb offers another great book in the Colby Agency series, and it was one of my favorites. In this romantic suspense novel, Lacon Traynor of the Colby Agency has to protect Dr. Marissa Frazier from an organized crime boss. I loved that the bodies kept piling up and you never knew who was going to die next. It was an excellent addition to the Colby Agency series, and the ending sets the stage for a whole new series featuring Jamie, the granddaughter of Victoria, the founder of the Colby Agency. Readers will enjoy the fast-paced action and the steamy romance. If you enjoy romantic suspense with sizzle and danger, you will definitely enjoy this new book by the prolific Debra Webb.

Marissa is a strong character in her own right while Lacon was surprisingly tender. It's so rare to see the man in a standard romance as having softness. Yet he is soft except when he needs to be on the job.

Body of Evidence is the third in Debra Webb’s Colby Agency: SEXI-ER trilogy. We’ve previously met both Marissa Frasier and Lacon Traynor so it is fun to see them both get their HEA; though you don’t have to read the other two to fully enjoy this one. This one is less sexy and more diabolical than the other two; the villain falls way on the creepy side. Long time Webb readers will recognize her signature style. New readers will want to start glomming everything she’s ever written.

This is the 3rd book in the Colby Agency: Sexi-ER series. When Dr. Marissa Frasier wakes up next to her ex husband's dead body, she needs someone to help her figure out what happened. The Colby Agency assigns, Lacon Traynor to provide protection and to help solve the mystery. As they discover her ex was involved in crimes relating to the mob, and they want her to take his place. This is a very fast paced sexy thriller. I can't wait to read more in this series.

When Dr. Marissa Frazier wakes up next to her husband and he’s dead, she knows she needs help now. She calls the Colby Agency and they send Lacon Traynor. Between the two, they are determined to take down the killer. However the killer is willing to take down anyone in his way.
This is a great Romantic Suspense that Debra Webb is known for. Her books always are a good, fun read and I am never let down.

This was a great end to the E.R. series. I have enjoyed the Colby Agency Series ever since the start and they are all great. This was no exception. The characters hole strong positions in the community, and at their workplace. In this the end of the series the doctor finally realizes that she does need help, and that help comes in the form of a Colby agent, with certain ides of how to protect her. but is always open fr ideas. Cant wait for the next series.

This was a decent quick read. The main character was a doctor but sometimes there was too much medical jargon. The suspense was good but the ending felt anticlimactic. While being a part of a series you do not have to read the previous books to know what is going on in this one. If you are looking for a quick romantic suspense this is for you!

Marissa is threatened by her ex husband and later on that night he is found dead beside her...She is accused..Thanks to the Colby Agency and Lacon she is protected but the bad guy that killed her hubby is after her to work with him..This book is a roller coaster of a ride..I held my breath several times through the book afraid for Issy and Lacon..This is a must read book!

Another five-star book from Debra Webb! Riveting suspense as someone tries to involve Dr Frazier in the murder of her ex-husband. Colby investigator Lacon Traynor loses his heart as he finds the truth and his true love at the same time! I highly recommend this book!!

This book was fairly good. I can always appreciate a steamy read. But I found the overall "mystery" or "crime" side of this book to be fairly lacking. There was little to no actual police interaction, it's known who the perpetrator is from the first couple of chapters, and most of the book focuses on the relationship between the two main characters. I need my books to have a little more surprise in them if I'm going to classify them as an "intrigue", "mystery", or even a "crime" novel. When they're this predictable, it's somewhat boring to read. These books typically take me a day or two to finish, but this one I couldn't quite seem to get into enough to finish it quickly. I'll likely read it again if I need another hot yet stereotypical read, but I would not classify it under mystery or intrigue.
