Detective Damien Drake is from the old guard, and he doesn't have time for reading, let alone staring at a glowing screen. But when gets called in to help with a case, he suddenly finds himself thrust into the world of digital books.

And one particular story, about murdered women, their lips painted bright red with their own blood, captivates not only Damien, but the entire world.

Except these books aren't fiction, they're real. But unlike other true crime stories, not all of these murders have been committed... yet.

Download Murder: A Terrifying Psychological Murder Mystery is the third book in the Detective Damien Drake Series, which merges the grittiness of the movie Se7enand the psychological breadth of Hannibal to create truly original detective stories that will make you want to lock your doors and stay inside... and turn off your tablet, computer, and eReader.

True story: I used to cut up bodies. No, not for fun, you sickos–for work. After reaching the age of majority and fleeing the clutches of an overprotective mother, I went to university like a good boy.

More than a decade later and an alphabet soup of letters after my name, I found myself looking down the double-chamber of a microscope at an eyeball. Feeling ironically introspective, I decided that it was time for a change.

After seventy plus novels and more than a million copies sold, I’ve found my true calling, one that also includes a plethora of letters. Hopefully you see something in my catalog that you like, something to feast your eyes on.

I also have two spooky podcasts that are appropriate for ALL ages, so long as you like to be scared: P.T. Logan's Five Minutes of Terror and Camp Fear. Both are FREE and available on all podcast platforms. For MATURE audiences, I've created two fiction podcasts, Nightmare Residue and Bad Priest.

I enjoyed this book but Chase really got on my last nerve in this one. I think being promoted to Sgt. was a mistake. She belongs in the field and not having to deal with politics or handling of personnel. I found her to short on patience and quite rude. I also don't understand the dynamics in her marriage. You would never know she is married or the mother to an 8 year old boy. There's doing your job and then there's living your job and she does the latter. I guess I'll have to wait and read her series to find out more about her or perhaps she'll show up in future books in this series. Damien is Damien...he keeps making the same damn mistakes with the reporter. His relationship with Ken Smith is very dangerous and I have a feeling this will come to an explosive end. Moving on to the next one which sounds like its going to be great and difficult for Damien.

Download Murder

Ex Detective Drake is called in as a "Special Consultant" to NYPD to help solve yet another serial killer case. This time an e-book is sent to him that details the murders about to happen. All he needs to do is figure out who is next. This is the third book in the series and I found it to be as exciting and unnerving as the other two books. I'd would highly recommend you read this series.

Notes: Another awesome read !!! I totally cannot wait until the next installment. Drake and Chase have drawn me into their lives and I feel I am apart of them. I see, feel, hear, breath everything they do. There is always some endeavor, some twist, something that never seems to go right for Drake ... but in the end they get their killer; however, the one killer Drake's after is still out there. Will this next installment prove to drive Drake over the edge with Chase now going to the FBI and trying to find the Skeleton King?

I thought I knew, then !boom!, yes, of course, it made sense, but then it didn't...

Victims - young female readers.
Killer - the author of the thriller??!

Damien Drake was freaking frustrating in this book. Weak, he made some dumb mistakes, he totally lost me... And still, he made it at the end.

Clusterfuck.

Possible trigger for romance readers:

Can't stop reading this series.

Wow! Wowie! Wowza! Amazing! "Download Murder" was certainly an edge of your seat thriller! And there were several things going on at the same time which offered a reprieve from one situation only to be thrust into another situation!

Damian, Damian, wherefore art though, Damian? I mean, seriously, how much more can he take? And when are we going to give him a break, Logan? And as a mom and grandmother, I wonder how it's possible that Chase can just up and take off on a case and forget about her hubby and child. I guess that proves I would and could never do be a law enforcement officer. There are too many sacrifices to be made.

On that note, I will leave you. I'll just be waiting to see what happens with Damien and his cast of buddies! But don't break our hearts, Logan! Don't take away any of the characters...seriously!

I’m hooked!

I started reading this series after reading several of The Chase Adams’ books. I had to know Chase better and how she got to the FBI. I am now a Drake fan too!

Damien Drake’s life is crazy. Sometimes, he drinks too much, he flies by the seat of his pants, he has his own code but he gets the job done. He has his flaws but who doesn’t. His number one goal has always been to find the killer. He has a heart and he really does care.

This book really hooked me and Patrick Logan did an amazing job! I thought I knew how this was going to end….wrong!! Fantastic! I’m pretty sure I know where the money he got back went. That shows his heart and helping those that didn’t deserve the tragedy that came their way. I love the characters in this series….the good and the bad guys. Ken and Raul are definitely shady and pretty twisted! I can’t wait to read the next book!

Detective Damien Drake is back again in the 3rd of the series. His ex-partner is now a Sergeant at the police force and has hired Drake to be an advisor on the recent murder case. In this one, Drake is sent an ebook reader. The reader has a book (Part 1) on it describing a murder. The murder has actually happened and Chase is investigating, that is why she has called in Drake.

The FBI is also on the scene in this one and has a profile of the killer as he strikes again and again and sends the books to Drake to describe the next murder! Chase still has the hope that she will be able to get into the FBI as with the new agent on the scene, she just may have a chance.

Don't miss this one. They just keep getting better and better!!!

I can't get enough of this writer's stories!

So just another freaking fantastic novel! I am onto the next; and I am so looking forward to it! I also think it's awesome how Logan plugs others books when telling his own stories. Ambrose Ibsen's "Asylum" was mentioned, which is good, and another in the "about this book" area which I will be looking for by Gavin deBecker called The Gift of Fear. But, first, THE SKELETON KING!

Excellent Series. On to book 4 now! This series has kept me on the edge of my seat like nothing I have read in a long time. The characters are so engaging, and I can't wait to find out what they will be up to next. They keep me guessing that's for sure! I highly recommend this series to anyone who loves a good mystery/thriller/suspense novel.

Interesting

Got me reading the series. Don’t think I am too crazy about Sgt Adams but I will keep trying to like her cause she irritates the sh*t out of me. Lol Plus I like Drake. And if I don’t leave a review... well we know what might happen.

Patrick Logan does it again!

Can’t get enough of this cast of characters. Wish I would have started the books in order instead of reading the Chase Adams books first! This books makes some of the later writings make more sense. I can’t wait to read the rest of the books!!

This is one of the best thriller writers that I have ever read

Patrick Logan is a person that knows how to write. He is one of the greats. I would put him in the same class as Stephen King, Dean Koontz or Peter Straub. He know his stuff.

3'5 / 5

El caso me ha gustado bastante, pero los temas personales de los personajes me parece que sobran.

Que Drake se acueste con la mujer de su compañero muerto no me ha gustado demasiado, es cero necesario.
Además echo de menos al doctor Beckett.
