I requested this audio book from free audiobook codes. com. This review is my own and my honest thoughts on the book.

First off i would like to address the narrator, Sonya Anderson. I love accents and i'm super go with the flow but I wish she would limit it to Chloe's character only. A little goes a long way.
The story picks up right where book 1 ends. We see the aftermath of Chloe's transformation and what follows. This short story is super bloody! I would read the next in this series to see what and where she goes but i think i'd prefer to actually read it and not listen.

Chloe is a drug addict and a prostitute that while in the throes of withdrawal is bit by a creature like a vampire but much more sinister. She finds her addiction has been replaced by an intense hunger for human flesh, muscle and viscera, but she aspires to (mostly) only eat evil people. She quickly satisfies her hunger on one scumbag after the next and plans her new life and new identity. Unfortunately that is the extent of the story. It felt like everything happened too easily, not much happened at all, and it lacked development. The horror elements were good, the idea of the creatures was cool, and it was plenty gruesome, though not scary at all. I did feel like I was missing out by not reading the first book. I really couldn't get into the characters, they all had very little development. Only in the end did I start to enjoy Chloe's character as she got some satisfying revenge for many unknown victims. Be warned that this book is very graphic and may be a difficult read for many. If you like a idea of a sort of anti-hero vigilante cannibal eating people, and don't mind graphic content you might like this book. I would read more by the author, even if this one didn't totally hit the spot for me. I thought it was well written, overall creative and I see a lot of potential.

I was given a complimentary copy of this book for judgement in the Indie Horror Book Awards 2018. Full review to be posted at odbookreviews.com

Whereas the original Honger was a sad, violent tale, one with a solid backstory and a well-developed mythology, the sequel is more gleefully vindictive, with a thread of dark justice that moves it beyond the sorrow and regrets.

In Honger 2, Terry M. West passes the inhuman appetite to a new generation, a homeless junkie who turns out to be a pawn between the men of the first story.

Just as violent as the first story, this is a book that's full of bloodshed, cannibalism, and brutality. West never shies away from Chloe's hunger for human flesh, but deals with the entire experience of wanting, fearing, enjoying, and rationalizing the experience.

What makes this book even more engaging than the first is how her hunger brings her into contact with a pair of amateur snuff pornographers who see in her the perfect victim for their latest client's dark, perverse demands. It probably comes as no surprise that she doesn't play the victim well, and it make for a suitably glorious and grotesque finale.
