This is a logical next step if you have (like me) read all of Louis L'Amour's vast catalog. Rhodes has equivalent plots, more of a sense of humor and appreciation of local folkways (being an old-timer instead of just talking to them) but is less clear in his writing and sense of terrain, where L'Amour excels.

This wasn't bad, but I couldn't get into the characters. The language, and the story overall, was difficult to follow.

This is an old Western, writen back in the 1930's. Quite abit different then the usual Westerns with limited shootem up. Interesting dialog and fun story.
