This was absolutely one of the best travel books I've read. It was full of great images and information that even most native Kentuckians might not know. The authors' enthusiasm for bourbon and our Uncommonwealth is front and center. I loved it! Made me want to drink my favorite bourbons slower so I can better savor the love and pride that is so much a part of them.
Loved the history of the state as much as the bourbon history. My father and grandfather both worked for Bernheim Distillery and only now I'm beginning to understand and appreciate what they were part of.
Good ideas for some day trips in and around Lexington. Could have used a little more explanation on how bourbon is made, but not bad. A good introduction.
I was really looking forward to reading this, when I finally did I was disappointed. The information is out of date and the writing is a bit dry....too bad because the photographs are lovely!
