Rook is the third book in the Devil's Nightmare MC by Lena Bourne. It is a full-length, standalone book. No Cheating, No Cliffhanger, HEA Guaranteed!

Rook

I only ever loved one woman. I still love her, even though she left to get us breakfast one morning ten years ago and disappeared. I searched for her for months, but she was just gone. Most days it's all a distant memory of what could've been, but I do think of her whenever I wake up next to a strange woman and wish it was her.

Then I see her on the sunny Mexico City street one random afternoon, and it's like no time has passed at all. I still want to grab her and take her to my room, not let her dress for days. Just like it was back when we fell in love.

But she belongs to the cartel boss now. She's out of my reach. Technically. I'm a calm man, nothing much gets me going. But Ines, she wakes the fire inside me, makes my blood run hot and has done since the day we met.

Now that I've finally found her, nothing and no one will keep me away from her ever again. Not even all of the Mexican cartel.

Rook: Devil's Nightmare MC is biker romance novel, which contains steamy sex scenes and deals with disturbing themes that may be uncomfortable for some readers. Intended for 18+ audiences.

A second chance at love for Rook, the sergeant in arms for his MC, and the woman, Ines, who left him 10 years ago in Mexico. Even to this day Rook still thinks about her, the only woman he has ever loved and now in Mexico to do a job he spots her. Ines didn’t want to leave Rook all those years ago, she was taken and held prisoner by a Mexican cartel boss aka The Gentleman, who held her father’s life in his hands. She has also never forgotten about Rook, thinking about him and his love saved her many times while in the evil clutches of the gentleman. She can’t escape and can’t leave her father so when Rook wants her to leave, she makes some bad choices but Rook won’t back down...can he save her?
What an emotional coaster of a ride between these two, they’re strangers now but remeber their love and who they were before, as Rook helps Ines get back to the woman she once was. Her tale of being a prisoner, her torture, her coping ways while with him, was heartbreaking. Their escape and plans for freedom....heart pounding.
Rook is hard on the outside but has a heart when it comes to Ines, we get to see his teddy bear side with her but also his vulnerability and doubts that surface when it comes to her loyalty and wanting to be with him. Ines is a strong woman for enduring all those years of torture but she will still do anything to keep Rook and his MC safe, making her selfless and compassionate.
An amazing read with action, some suspense, steamy scenes and two people who finally get their chance at love. I loved these two and how the story was about them, reconnecting after many years apart and the hurdles they face together.

Rook was the third book in the Devil’s Nightmare MC series by Lena Bourne. It was my first book of the series, but not my first by the author.

Rook and Ines were young and totally in love until one day she walked out of the apartment for breakfast and never returned. Rook was devastated and finally gave up ever finding her again. Fast forward ten years and the story began.

I struggle with this type of scenario when it’s in the present versus the past, so I struggled some with this plot. No spoilers so no elaboration, but it may set off some triggers for some. But as promised, Bourne provided an HEA in the end. To get there, she took us through a quick but suspenseful and action packed plot. It can be read as a stand-alone but I plan to back track and get the history of the MC through the previous books. Then I look forward to continuing onward and I totally can’t wait to for Ice’s story.

Note: As I was posting this review I realized that the Devil’s Nightmare MC was a spinoff from Bourne’s Viper’s Bite MC series, which I loved. I hadn’t had a chance to start the Devil’s Nightmare MC series at the time but I definitely will have to go back to book one now. 😄

Sweet Jesus, at this pace I'll read way more books that I did last year. They keep coming and I keep wanting more each day, it's insanely good, crazy but good.
Everyone knows that I have a soft spot for MC books, but don't let the soft spot fool you because the kinkier the better. Just saying. And coming from this author I just need to have them. Her covers are to drool all over.
Lena Bourne is the one to blame. Her books are wild, forbidden, with a simple yet intricate writing that will make you blush and so much more.
Rook is her latest release and tells the stories of Rook and Ines and all book is switched between their points of views.
But before I tell you a little bit more about this story I need to tell you something. Despite all books are standalones you should read Devil's Nightmare MC series, namely Cross and Tank. By doing so you will understand the dynamic between all characters. Trust me.
Rook had lost a part of his heart the day the woman he loved walked away without of so much of an explanation. After that he couldn't commit so he opted for one night stands but her face keep haunting him. One day he sees her again but things aren't the same.
Ines had it all until one day she didn't. She was madly in love with Rook, and he with her, but then she had to disappear but things aren't what they seem.
How can these two get back together after 10 years apart? Start from scratch or pick up were they left off?
Jesus... I knew that I would encounter a steamy and breathtaking story but what I found was so much more.
The plot is superb, super engaging and the unknown factor is always there. The interation between the characters is beautiful, raw, complicated and...
Let's just say that I really enjoyed this book and I'm on cloud nine because of it.
We are presented with love, loyalty, friendship, family, as well as madness, punishment, terror and one crazy motherf*****. Jesus... There were parts of the story that I was super anxious and nervous because I saw on my mid what was about to happen... And guess what? It was worst...
I was hooked from the beginning and I couldn't read it fast enough but at the same time I didn't wanted it to end. Let's talk about mixed feelings...
Ahem...Warning...This book has some steamy stuff to...
This is one series that I want to keep having more books because not only we are presented with new characters but also we have glimpses from the other ones.
Lena you rock woman... I hope that you're aware that you're creating a greedy monster... Yep... That's right... Me... Lol
Can't wait for the next book. Anxiously waiting but I'll wait...
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

We get to visit Devil's Nightmare again. I love these stories by Lena Bourne and this one is no different. Although this is a second chance story (which I am not a big fan of) I did enjoy this story. Rook is a wonderful alpha biker that has been searching for his long lost love for the past 10 years. And although he is pretty sure he is never going to see her again, he is damn surprised when he sees her across the street in Mexico City.

Ines fell in love with Rook 10 years ago. She had run away from "The Gentleman" a Mexican cartel boss. He found Ines and takes her from Rook. For 10 years he abuses and holds her prisoner. So when Ines sees Rook, it is like a dream come true. But Ines has been held captive for so long that she is afraid to leave. Sometimes it is better to let people hurt you than the ones you love.

This is a great MC and love story. I really did enjoy it. I voluntarily read an advance reader copy for my honest review.

Kind of a hurried read. Everything happened quick without flourish or games. It was very matter of fact for sure. Say it do it done.

Lots of sex and some of it was really not needed, they are running from trouble but yet we have time to get it on no matter what. Don’t get me wrong I like a down and dirty book, but this just didn’t make logical sense at times.

Ok read.

Rook and Ines had a passionate relationship that lasted six-months, ten years ago. They were practically engaged to be married when one day Ines left to get breakfast and never returned. After days, weeks, months of searching the streets of Mexico City for Ines, Rook finally gave up and returned to the US, convinced she had left him for something better. So when Rook returns to Mexico on some MC business and finally spots Ines looking quite rich and comfortable, he’s quite surprised. And he demands an explanation.

I just couldn’t get into this book. The plot was slow and often uneventful. The conflicts weren’t very climactic and ended pretty fast. It took me three days to finish because I kept wanting to put it down.

I didn’t feel their connection or love for each other. They were together for six months, ten years ago. The author only provides one scene from that time and it happens to be the scene where Ines disappears. The rest of the book is spent with Ines and Rook alternating back and forth that they were so in love with each other and meant to be, etc. I wanted to be shown why they felt that way, not told.

My biggest peeve with this book was Rook. His love-hate for Ines and her acceptance of it like she deserved his wrath got old, fast. Yes, he was under the impression for ten years that she willingly left him and his resentment just grew and grew, but she needed to stop babying him every time he got irrationally mad at her and let him grow up. She was consistently abused and tortured by some psychopath for ten years while Rook slept with any woman he saw, but oh, he told many of them his sob story of the woman who left him. They both needed to step back and take a look at the situation and re-evaluate their feelings and relationship, because neither of them behaved rationally. It drove me nuts.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I don’t know how I feel about this book. I continued reading just to see if there will be some kind of revelation in the characters but it was just sad.

I feel like Ines genuinely needs to seek therapy after all the abuse she’s endured over the last 10years. I got the sense that she had no choice but to cling to Rook cause she saw him as her only escape route. She continuously made the worst decisions which led me to believe she might have Stockholm syndrome a bit.

Rook is not caring what’s so ever she moved from one obsessed man to another. He literally would get upset and try to force himself on her when she didn’t want to have rough sex due to her ptsd from her abuser and he didn’t really care. To me he was more focused on getting what he wants instead of taking care of her needs and taking his time. She would cry and he would talk about how he was annoyed by it and gas lighting her.

Ines is still a victim and her only way to get the help she wanted was to suck it up let Rook do what he wanted. He never took the time to acknowledge that she’s not the same woman she was 10 years ago and she’s been through something traumatic.

I feel bad for Ines, I believe she’s convinced herself that she’s happier with Rook given her situation that she has no family, friends, money, or a place to go so like most people she had to settle with the hand she’s been dealt.

A suspenseful, raw, emotional and intense ride to go on with Rook and Ines. Sorry to say this but I felt like Ines was an idiot at times. She had opportunities to run but chose not to. Poor Rook, holding on to the woman he loves and finally deciding to let go, then running into her again. Ugh, I felt all of this was a little frustrating, but let me tell you that is what made this book so good. I enjoyed this story.

Review: was a little better then tank. What most I appreciate about Rook is that there was more MC crime life in it than Tank. There was more meaning into this book then the last 2 book.
Rook really fought for Maria even when he was ready to give up on her when she was willing to give herself back to the gentleman. This book was about surviving SA, PA, and most of all it was about fight for what you love or shouldn’t say who you love.

Good read

The issue of abuse both physical and emotional is always hard to read about and even harder to write about I imagine. The author did a good job of depicting it without it being too graphic. However, they were a few times were I could really have slapped Ines. I know more violence 😏 I guess after all this time she was afraid of her own shadow and suffering from Stockholm syndrome because to worry about the fate of her guards was just too much. Same thing, I understand why she didn’t run 10 years before because she was a child then but now it was frustrating to read how she still wanted to hang onto her father whilst as harsh as it sounds he actually died 10 years before. I suppose it was him who allowed her to bear the torture for so long so it was probably hard to let go. The author did a good job in describing how fear can paralyze you so much that you almost don’t save yourself. I guess that’s why at time it made it hard for Rook to believe her. Why Rook didn’t kill Silvio the first time was stupid. I understand wanting to avoid a war, but given who Silvio was and how obsessed he was, blowback was inevitable so he might has well have finished it. As for Ice, his recklessness (not disguising himself) almost cost them a lot. The nonsense about all of them wanting to protect Ice was just that though because let’s not forget he was a grown man who just killed a bunch of people in revenge. I didn’t give the 5 star because sometimes the book was a bit repetitive and contradictory. Also, I would have liked another chapter on how Ines overcame her issues (counseling..) settled into her new life, job etc. Also the subject of whether or not she could still have children was alluding too but sadly not discussed with Rook or followed up on.

I LOVE this series, but I adore the fact that they can be read as standalone books
This is Rook's story and OMG it was so good.
Rook first saw Ines barefoot on the beach trying to sell seashell necklaces that she made. They hit it off and sparks fly. They get a crappy apartment together and they spend the next six months living and loving eachother. On the morning that Rook is supposed to start his new job, Ines wakes him up, they have fantastic s*x and while Rook is showering Ines leaves to get him something for breakfast. When Rook gets out of the shower Ines is still not back. An hour later still nothing, thinking she got caught up talking with someone and lost track of time Rook goes to work. When he returns from work he finds that Ines still hasn't come back. He spends quite some time looking for her and never finds her. Ten years later Rook is the Sargent At Arms for the Devil's Nightmare MC and he still hasn't forgotten Ines. He ends up back in Mexico for a job and while there he can't believe his eyes because he sees Ines get out of a very nice vehicle, dressed to the nines and looking very much alive and well. Grab this book to find out what happens when Rook confronts Ines. Does he still love her and does she still love him? Why did she disappear all those years ago? Will she want Rook again or will Rook even be able to forgive her for leaving him without so much as a goodbye. This book has everything you would want in a good story, angst, love, lust, mystery, STEAMY scenes and one HOT as sin Alpha male!

This isn't your average, everyday, typical MC second chance romance story. This is the story of 2 people, a man and a young woman, who had limited time together but made promises for the future because they knew that what they found in each other was once in a lifetime. Memories, that's what Rook has of his Ines, the woman who stole his heart, made him believe in love and then disappeared without a trace, taking Rook's heart and soul with her. Ines, a young woman in an impossible situation because a crazy, rich and obsessed man saw her on the street and decided he wanted her and nothing would stop him from having the woman he wanted. 10 years of abuse, torture and scars have changed Ines but one thing remains and that's her love for Rook, her yearning to be with him again and her fear that if she does see him, the monster who captured her will kill him. No matter how many woman Rook is with, how much he drinks or how many battles he faces, Ines is always on his mind, in his heart and in his dreams. Why did she leave him? Where is she? Is she safe? Was everything between them a lie? Rook finally has his chance to get the answers to these questions and he doesn't like what he finds out! Do these 2 broken people get a second chance? Will Ines ever be free and safe from her captor? Will Rook be able to give Ines the freedom she's longed for and the future they dream of? This story packs an emotional punch and it's oh so good!

Carla's Five Star Review

Rook is the third book in the Devil's Nightmare MC series, and it is Rook and Ines' story.

Rook and Ines meet, and they fall madly in love with one another. Everything is great until the day Ines goes out for breakfast and never comes back. Rook was devastated and searched for her everywhere to no avail. He returned home, but he never stopped loving her. Fast forward several years, and it seems fate has brought them together again. They have both changed, but the love is still there. The problem is Ines is in a very dangerous situation. She wants to leave with Rook, but fears not only him getting hurt, but his MC brothers as well.

Can Rook convince Ines to leave with them? O--r will her fear keep her from having the one thing she has always wanted-love. I thoroughly enjoyed this story, and I look forward to reading the other books in this series! Hurry up and one click this one ! I promise you won't be disappointed!

Good read

Another good book in this series Rook is another of the brothers and is a typical Alpha male biker, years ago he fell in love with a pretty Mexican girl who disappeared on him he believed she left him. Ines is that girl but she was kidnapped by a cartel boss who kept her locked up and regularly beats her and is totally cruel she never left rook of her own freewill. He finds her again whilst on another job in Mexico and they rediscover their love she is too afraid to leave the man as he holds the fate of her father in his hands. She has suffered years of abuse and it takes a lot for her to believe she can be free eventually they run but still get caught up by her kidnapper again. This time the club is involved and she is freed and her torturer dies. There are a number of issues covered in this book ie. abuse, torture, fear, hatred and deep love. Another good read by this author.

Rook: Devil's Nightmare MC. Wow what an incredible journey!

This is the third book in the Devil's Nightmare MC series. It is Rook and Ines' story. Their story starts ten years earlier when they were very young, Ines was only eighteen. She just disappears from the small beach town. He doesn't see her again for ten years when he spots her on the street in Mexico City. The evil cartel head has made Ines' life hell. How will Rook get her back? Ice is again a brother who has Rook's back. This story will keep you on the edge of your seat. The sexy bits will keep you reading late into the night.
I love this series. Thank you Lena Bourne for sharing your alpha bikers and their kickass ladies. Next book in the series is Scar. It is available at all the usual retailers.

I am a big fan of MC books and enjoy this series. Rook and Ines were torn apart but neither has forgotten their love. When he finds her again, he is determined to save her.

Rook is a very determined and strong man that does not give up. He is really devoted to Ines and she is so scared to believe in a future with him. She has spent a decade being told what to do and her fear jeopardizes his rescue plans. It can be a little frustrating but true to the character of someone who has spent that time being victimized. Their love is undeniable.

I thought the author did a great job on the storyline and the characters. You definitely connect to them and their pain and feelings of loss. They deserve a happy ever after.

This is a new to me author and I’m going to go back and read the other books in the series.

A young couple in love torn apart when Ines disappears, Rook is broken by the loss and drifts through life until he joins an MC.

Rook thinks he’s lost his mind when he sees Ines on a street while on a job for his MC. Ines to the outsider lives a life of privilege but in reality every day is a nightmare.

This was a slow burn story for me partly because at the beginning Rook came across as a little soppy but as the story evolved I started to really enjoy it. There are the usual MC troubles ( which I love ) old and new enemies waiting in the wings. I enjoy reading about strong female characters and Ines definitely fits that description.

Ab enjoyable MC book.

have loved the other books in this series and this one is no exception.
Rook and Ines is a love that was not to be denied even though neither knew if they'd ever see each other again.
Ines is being held by the mist ruthless cartel king. She has been abused and punished by him but through it all her few months with Rook keep her going.
Rook can't get Ines out if his mind. No woman ever lives up to her.
For 10 years neither forgot and neither can believe when they see each other again. Can they puck up where they left off? Is the love still as intense?
This is a hot, sexy second chance at your first and only love story. Kept me turning the pages.
I was given this book for an honest voluntary review

Awesome Read!! I'm Loving This Series of Books

Rook: Devils Nightmare MC ( Devil's Nightmare MC Book 3)
By Lena Bourne. 5 Stars*****

Another awesome read of the Devil's Nightmare MC world...
This one is about Rook and his woman Ines..

I'm loving this series!!!!

Gutwrenching is one word that sticks in my mind when I think of what Ines endured as the prisioner of Silvio, the mafia guy. It gave me shivers...

Rook has kept his previous life's secret from his brothers for 10 years. Waiting on a love like he did was so aww worthy. Sigh. Revenge is so sweet when it happens.

Fast paced action, hold your breath moments and passion off the charts!!

I have voluntarily read and I'm voluntarily leaving a review of this book.

Ines is the only woman for Rook, he wants a lifetime with her but one morning when she goes out for groceries, she never returns. Years later, he sees Ines in Mexico City. He learns that The Gentleman, one of the largest drug cartel, took Ines and won't ever let her go. Despite the fact that Rook wants Ines to runaway with him now, she's afraid for herself, Rook and wants to be with her father as he's dying. When they do escape, Rook needs the baking of the Devil's Nightmare to take down The Gentleman. Another good read by Lena although a bit mushier of a book that I'd expect from her.

My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read.
