The Dust of Us: Poems

Michelle Boske releases her debut collection of poetry featuring 15 contemporary poems. The Dust of Us explore universal themes. She explores the lighter and playful side of love, such as intimacy and gratefulness, but also delves deeper, taking us into the darker side of love, of betrayal and regret. In the end, these poems are ultimately hopeful, reminding us of the beginnings and endings, big and small, which contain us all.

I'm not really a poetry person. Faced with a book of poems, I find myself wondering how to attack them. Its not like a novel that I can lose myself in. So do what you want with that information as you read the following.

This book is fairly short. Each poem is just a bite-sized nugget. So, I read it in the corners of my day, and positive plowed through it. Boske has a way of capturing the exquisite beauty in our world. Her poems were simultaneously heart wrenching and hopeful, and very appreciative. Its just about what I needed at this time.

Great book to have in your library.

This beautifully written collection of poems will stay with you long after you've read it. You will laugh, cry, cringe, and sigh. Poet Michelle Boske has a gift for evoking emotions and painting mental pictures of her thoughts. Try reading the poems out loud and you will find yourself experiencing every nuance the author intends. I look forward to more from this talented writer.

I love poetry, so this book was such a joy to read. I love how the author implores us to explore different facets of emotion & love; from dark, and deeply emotional to fun, playful, and intimate. Highly recommend!
