Found notes from reading: June-2007: Only read about half, I could no longer handle the author's extremely lame writing style and poor arguments/not a critical analysis at all.
Too bad - nice idea fails in delivery.

I read this book as part of my research for next year's debate topic. While I didn't really think the writing was very well done, there was a lot of information and many suggestions about ways we can all contribute to a lessening of our current environmental woes. The time has come for individuals to take action and Steinman provides suggestions both great and small.

"We're not going to be perfect, but if we keep in mind the powerful vision of being green patriots and what it means to our personal health, our nation's security, and our children's future, we have the power to awake each morning with confidence and resolve that our personal actions are going to redeem our future as individuals, citizens, and the nation."

OK- the green patriots is a bit hokey, but the sentiment about the planet is important.
"Just hink ahead. The carbon-neutral age is here. So let's get with the program, leave the spinning to Planet Blue and do the right thing."
