The Texarkana Moonlight Murders was a term created for the unsolved murders committed in and around Texarkana in the spring of 1946 by an unidentified serial killer known as the "Phantom Killer". The killer attacked eight people within ten weeks, five of whom were killed with the attacks occurring late at night, hence the name "Moonlight Murders."
The murders sent the town of Texarkana into a state of panic throughout the summeras people sought to arm themselves and kept indoors at night.
I have never forgotten the movie The Town That Dreaded Sundown. The fact it was based on true events I believe started me on my fascination with true crime stories. That combined with having g a law enforcement officer for a father. The ability and horrific manor in which humans take pleasure in hurting others can never be explained, at least I don't think so. An interesting, though horrific set of stories about just a few of the monsters which society has had to deal with.
Get the facts of three horrible cases in about an hour. All three cases are very sad, but the final story is probably the hardest to take because of all the lives that were damaged or extinguished by madness.
