As a young reader, the holy trinity of comic writers for me were Robert Benchley, Woody Allen, Max Schulman and SJ Perelman (I didn’t yet know what trinity meant). SJ Perelman: A Life by Dorothy Herrmann is for his fans of which there should be more.
