It all starts with an ask. One little question. Never have I ever…. Innocuous enough. Pretty tame in fact for a pop-up ad boasting the 'F' It List, Christmas Edition, yet it’s as maddening as a clue to the New York Times crossword puzzle. As if under a spell, I click the link and fill in the blank. Never have I ever…been this broken at Christmas. Not quite the answer the asker intended. My finger hovers over the key, begging to press send. It drips of self-pity, yet I’m too cracked to ask for anything other than to be fixed this holiday season. Signed, Broken Ornament.
Broken Ornament is a holiday spin-off to Angie M. Brashear’s novel, Dots. This sweet novella is best appreciated if you’ve previously read Dots. Some of the story references won’t make much sense otherwise.
Broken Ornament features Jason, Casey, and Maisey. Jason Baxter thinks he is gifting someone their “never have I ever” wish from Mason’s F#ck It website, however it is not clear who is saving whom in this dreams-do-come-true holiday tale. The story is to the point, and it is filled with characters you’ll love to love or hate: an abusive ex-husband, an adorable four year-old, and a neglected orphan who is looking for a family. At times, I found it a little too sweet for my taste, and it does involve insta-love.
Overall, Broken Ornament is a holiday story that will steal your heart.
Casey and Jase When you're broken, so broken you can't find enough glue to hold it together from one day to the next but there's someone who counts on you everyday to do just that, so you try and try, praying for a miracle inside, like a broken ornament wanting to be new again. When all you know is lonely and running and sadness, but suddenly you see a forever right before your eyes-and it's really within your grasp, but how do you keep it from slipping away??? And together it begins-this is that story! Beautiful, strong, courageous & #brokenornament Grab the cocoa, tisues, and settle in, You're gonna love this one! One of my top 10 reads of 2017! A MUST READ! Loved it!!!
This is the first book by this author that I have read and I just loved every word she wrote. The way she wrote the emotions and feelings of these characters had you feeling emotional with them. How can you not love a man that would do anything to make your child happy and loved just melted my heart into many pieces? This is a book one of “Never Have I ever” series just like the drinking game it can be one little question that causes answers that will change things. This is an action full drama romance of falling in love with more than just another person. I received an ARC copy and this is my honest and voluntary review of this great book. Maisey and Jase’s relationship was wonderful thought this book, can a broken ornament ever be repaired? My full review can be read at www.readingfortheloveofbooks.com
It all started with a little question. Never have I ever.....
I freaking loved this story. I loved Casey and Jace. I absolutely loved Maisey. This little girl stole my heart. I loved the connection Jace has with Casey and Maisey.
Maisey is a sweet little girl who deserves to have a dad who will love her likes she deserves. Casey deserves to feel like she is wanted and someone who will make her feel not so broken. She is a strong person. Jace oh my he is perfect. He wants to give these two the world. Can the dots be connected with these three or are they destined for another connection?
This story has the feel good moments and the heart shattering, hold your breath and hope for the best moments. I look forward to reading many more books in this series.
Can I first just say Angie is an amazing author???? This book pulled on my heartstrings and made me shed a few tears. I really felt for Casey as I was in that type of bad situation and felt like there was no way out. Jase was such a sweetheart and I could not get enough of his gentle ways. One thing that has stayed with me is bent not broken... I love it so much. I’m trying not to give any spoilers so I will stop here but this book is amazing! This is the second book in the Never Have I Ever series but it can be read as a standalone. Trust me when I say you will not regret reading this book!
This was such a beautiful story. It's a great Christmas story. Angie did amazing at bring these characters to life. I couldn't get enough, I fell in love with each character. And I must say the star of this story is Maisey . You got to read it to find out who she is. I love the title Broken Ornament, I am sure many can relate to this and not only to Casey and Maisey's story but to Jase's story as well. I love reading christmas stories and this one was great, it touched my heart and made me cry but it helped me get into the Christmas spirit. It's a must read.
I had to force myself to finish this short read. I found out it’s a spin off by reading someone else’s review. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * I started off really confused while reading this. I kept wondering if I missed something in the beginning. 48 hours and they fall in love? I hate that! I wanted more of the relationship with the ex husband. Everything was just kinda fast paced. Even though I struggled to read it I wanted more. Maybe that’s why I had a hard time getting through it? I won’t be reading the second book in this series.

I really enjoyed the story line to this book. Loved the characters. Want to see if there is a book about Jeff and Jolene. Maisey had my heart from the very beginning. But the editing errors turned my 5 star into a 3 star. A professional editor could have polished this rough gem into a brilliant diamond. It's a great book, if you can get past the need for another pass or two of editing.
Never have I ever read a story several times and enjoyed it just as much as I did the very first time. I absolutely love this book! It is one of the best holiday novels out there!
Angie M Brashears knows how to draw her readers in, and keep them coming back for more. Broken Ornaments (Never have I ever Series) is the spin-off to Dots and can be read as a stand alone. In Broken Ornaments we are introduced to Casey a young mother who is trying avoid an abusive ex and keep her young daughter Maisey safe. Enter Jason, the man with a plan who swoops in and takes Casey and Maisey away and gives them a Christmas wish come true. Angie M Brashears creates such lovable characters, even some that you will love to hate and pens a story line that will stay with you long after you’ve finished reading it. I’m a huge fan of Angie’s work, and recommend this book to everyone. Broken Ornaments is a beautiful tale that will warm your heart and soul this holiday season.
I loved this book and I couldn't put it down! You fall in the with the characters and their quirkiness! Even though this is a second book in the series it can be read as a stand alone. I highly recommend reading this book if you love romance and HEAs!!
