A loyal Chicago girl who loves deep dish pizza, the Cubs, and the Lake, CC Dragon is fascinated by mysteries, sleuthing, as well as the supernatural. The southern connection comes in because her sister moved down there and the material was too fun and entertaining not to set a series there. CC loves creating characters, especially amateur sleuths who solve crimes in their spare time. A coffee and chocolate addict who loves fast cars, she’s still looking for a hero who likes to cook and clean…so she can write more!
What does an ex-priest, a soon to be divorced wife, a drag queen, ex-cop, angels, & a human with paranormal powers have in common? They all live together in a haunted mansion in NOLA! Deanna & her extended “family” are ready for their next adventure. Whether vanquishing demons, infiltrating a cult, or checking out a new club they are in it together. There are laughs, chills, & thrills, with a bit of romance thrown in to make an excellent paranormal mystery. I am hooked on this series!
I love this series and I adored this book. Poor Deanna her life has become a circus. She has six living housemates some angels and a few ghosts living with her. The vampire bar has closed and reopened even darker. There is a church right out of “The Handmaidens Tale” and Mary Lou and Lance are fighting from worse than when they were together. To top it off and what may be freaking Deanna most of all is there is a guy who likes her and isn’t totally freaked out by what she can do. This book answers some questions asks some new ones and will keep you entertained throughout.
With every book, I'm more in love with this series. Unlike the decade gap between books two and three, this one starts almost as soon as the previous one ended.
I had a weird feeling about Lucifer and the book played it out. The truth behind the cult, Lester, Lucifer and Mary Lou was a surprise. I'm sad to see that grandma can no longer lead Deanna though I understand why.
I'm intrigued to see how the girls home, the angelic new club and our darling group continue on into further books. And I still love the letters from Ivy in the rear. 💜💜💜💜💜
The Dungeon is a bar, the vampire siphons energy and is infatuated with Deanna Oscar. Of course it's set in NOLA! There are angels, demons, an ex-priest, ghosts and other help from beyond. And there's also a pair of divorce combatants, a church cult that is not at all as consensual as the Mennonites, and major involvement by the NOPD. Action, suspense, and craziness round out this latest installment in this truly imaginative series.
I love Deanna and her whole crew. Hopefully it's not an infatuation between Deanna and Paul, it's awesome that he gives her a different grounding than the others and looking forward to him being even more 💜
Terrific. Her BFF is driving her mad with her newly found freedom and the new club has her tied up in knots. Why does she feel that the club is hiding evil? How does the church being investigated fit in? Will she be able to unravel all the threads before something bad happens? Really wanted her to slap her BFF in this one but having all the angels around it probably wouldn't have been a great idea. Nice to see romance in her life as her previous encounters have been flops. Great characters, well written and an easy read.
