Valley Archer knows she's different than the other moms in her neighborhood. She doesn't enjoy baking, never goes to Starbucks, and wouldn't be caught dead in yoga pants.
So what does Valley like?
Sex. And lots of it.
Her poor husband David is having a hard time keeping up (pardon the pun).
If she has her say, they'll soon be turning 6 Juniper Court into a swinger paradise. And Valley doesn't give one f*ck what the neighbors think.
Phoebe Alexander writes #sexpositive #bodypositive erotic romance featuring compelling plots intertwined with passionate, fiery encounters. She believes that real, relatable characters can have even steamier sex than billionaires, rock stars, and the young and lithe-bodied. She also advocates for ethical non-monogamy through her writing.

She also volunteers her time running a 3000-member indie author support group. Free time is her single greatest fantasy, and if she happens to have a moment she spends it at the beach, traveling, shopping or...wait, who are we kidding? That's about all she ever gets a chance to do.
A hilariously realistic look at the world of Noveau swingers. I laughed throughout the story, reading about the hot couple-David and Valley, suburban dwellers of Sunview. The hot and horny Valley is trying to be adventurous, while being utterly besotted and committed to her dashingly handsome and indulgent husband David. They stumble upon The Lifestyle by accident and the Curious Cat Valley can't wait to try it. What follows is this rip roaring attempt at trying to meet the swingers, feel them out, narrow down the perfect compatriots and then go from soft-swap to all the way in. I swear I enjoyed reading it a lot. Very witty, very very funny and very I feel like a lonely, horny bird who lived in a cage her whole life and then was suddenly set free, just in time to discover a whole bunch of horny birds just like her. Valley has been unleashed and this curvy sexy woman can't get enough. I'm not a swinger and never can be(jealousy issues and all that) , but STILL I enjoyed this fantasy story . 4 Hot Tub stars #BookBistroBlogApproved Follow us on FB - https://www.facebook.com/groups/BookB... Project Paradise By: Phoebe Alexander 4 Swinging Stars!!!
Welcome to Juniper Court! 1 cul-de-sac with 7 neighbors... their stories told by 7 authors. Juniper Court authors are: Author Isabelle Peterson Phoebe Alexander Lainie Suzanne Sylvie Stewart Romance Vicki Green - Author Emme Burton-Author and Jennifer Theriot. Each book is read as a standalone, each one concentrating on one neighbor who lives on Juniper Court.
Well my goodness, what a hot, action filled gem this one was! Valley and her husband David have recently moved to Juniper Court. David is an architect and Valley is an interior designer who stays home now. Avoiding any yoga pants, starbucks or school functions makes Valley who she is.
Valley loves sex. The more sex the better Valley is. So, when Valley and David discuss the possibility of becoming swingers, Valley jumps on it and starts planning.
We see what all goes on in hopes of popping your swinging cherry. How it’s not all fun and games. Disappointment for one, yet satisfaction for the other. It’s all in the way the night swings. Do we let others know what our lifestyle is or do we keep it under heavy covers? When outsiders find out what our lifestyle is like, do we get shunned or is it what goes on behind closed doors, stays there?
This was my first Phoebe Alexander book to read. I loved how the characters weren’t the typical cookie cutter images that are in so many books. I enjoyed the aspect that in David and Valley’s lifestyle every encounter wasn’t played out perfectly. Made the story very believable.
Looking forward to reading about the other neighbors on Juniper Court!!!
Project Paradise by Phoebe Alexander a five-star read that is worth every single pointed edge. This is the first book in the Juniper Court series, each book is written by different author about a house and this time it’s the turn of number 6 Juniper Court and house mistress Valley Archer, and with her turn she is kicking it all off with a bang. Just like she does with her life, Valley was a woman I would love in my life, she is a woman that this author writes very well. Life in Juniper Court seems nice on the surface, the women do coffee in yoya gear, drive minivans who probably sleep with their husbands in a planned manner on a set night of the week and seem a little step-ford for Valley as she is more skinnyjean fast car driving woman with a sex drive of a teenager. Valley seems to have it all a lovely husband who would do anything for her, and I mean anything. It’s a great introduction to the people of Juniper Court and we get to meet them and see a glimpse of people we will fall in love with in later books. This story isn’t all sunshine and roses, but what life is? I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.
Project Paradise (The Juniper Court Series) by Phoebe Alexander is part of The Juniper Court series that is written by various authors. I have also read the second book in this series and I loved it. I highly recommend this book and this series. This book is not for anyone under the age of 18, it will certainly heat you up! This is my favorite book of this authors. It pulled me in right from the start and I couldn't put it down until I read The End! Her writing style is easy flowing and engaging. Her characters pull you into the story with ease. They are connectable and lovable. This is the story of Valley and David. They have just moved to Juniper Court. David is always urging Valley to make friends with the other moms. But you see, Valley is not like other mothers, she doesn't enjoy the things they do. She is highly sexed and wants lots of it. This is what urges her to check the internet out about swing. She then becomes determined to make her basement into a swinger paradise but at what cost? She doesn't care what anyone thinks about their lifestyle but she does wonder if there are others in her community that are swingers. Is this a lifestyle that their marriage is strong enough to take or will fate have something else in mind for them? There is no doubt that this book is hot and steamy! At the beginning I didn't really care so much for Valley. I thought she was selfish and not a very good parent. I have no doubt that she loves her children and just has a different way of things. I loved watching her grow throughout this story and she has no filter to her mouth. She is a strong character and independent but she could work on her people skills. David is a sweet man who loves Valley so much that he pretty much goes with the flow with her until he couldn't anymore. They took me on an emotional roller coaster ride that had me laughing one minute and needing ice water the next. They also took me on a few twists and turns that you won't necessarily see coming but I needed to find out what happened next. The secondary characters are just as connectable and lovable. There are a couple that I didn't care for their attitude towards Valley but they are true to life and made the story flow. This is a must read story and series!
Project Paradise by Phoebe Alexander is a novel in the Juniper Court series. ‘Juniper Court’ is a series of standalones all set in the same street. There are seven stories and seven talented authors. Each book is individual and unique to its author, and this one is set at 6 Juniper Court and comes to us from the very talented Ms. Alexander. I am quite familiar with Ms. Alexander’s work, as I have read all of the books she has written. I really appreciate how she doesn’t take the easy route with her stories by taking a popular, well-tried formula and churning out a ‘fluffy’ story- instead Ms. Alexander gives us unexpected, thought provoking, interesting, and entirely addictive tales that star quirky, everyday people that win us over with their unique, yet entirely realistic and believable stories. And this book is a shining example of this. It’s a real credit to Ms. Alexander. Valley Archer isn’t our everyday romance heroine, she’s a very busy mother of two who refuses to conform to societal expectation and remains true to herself. She’s strong and unashamed of who she is and the choices she makes. But she’s having trouble settling into this new neighbourhood and finding common ground with the other women. After a discussion with her husband David, Valley begins exploring ‘swinging’ and everything it entails. She has always been highly sexed, and this is something that has always held a fascination for her. This is where the story takes off as we follow their ‘adventure’. But things don’t always go according to plan and the fact that things don’t run so smoothly adds an extra element of realism, as well as extra depth to this wonderful story. I really think that this is a book that is better off diving into blind, without any preconceived ideas or expectations. Let Ms. Alexander weave her magic and surprise you with her incredible storytelling ability. It’s a book you won’t soon forget!
4.5 Star review Project Paradise (The Juniper Court Series) by Phoebe Alexander
This book one in an exciting new series written by 7 authors. This book from Phoebe Alexander rockets the series off to a flying start.
Valley Archer is not your ordinary run of the mill wife and mother; she doesn’t appear to have much in common with the other mums around her. Not only doesn’t she like coffee or yoga, or bake sales, but she is a voluptuous curvy size 16 women, secure in her size and sexuality.
In other words Valley rocks and I would love to have her as a friend and oh what a fabulous neighbour she would make.
Valley is open to almost anything and when her gorgeous and oh so hot husband David makes and off the cuff comment, Valley decides to delve into swinging, an idea she finds fascinating.
Project Paradise is a mind blowing, hot, sizzling read and yet it is not all about the good times. Insecurities and doubts can make or break a marriage. Valley and David share a deep and loving bond which is at the heart of this book. There were also some extremely funny moments throughout the book.
I applaud Ms. Alexanders choice of characters; Valley is a strong and confident women, David supportive and loving. They are far from perfect which makes this book so easy to relate too.
I was hooked from chapter one and will definitely be reading the other books in this series.
WOW! I am psyched to read the entire multi-author series after delving into Phoebe Alexander’s “Project Paradise” - this book is hot, hot, hot!! Valley is a character with zero fucks to give about “normal” soccer mom interest - what she does have is the desire to spice up the sex life she and her husband already enjoy. What better way then to become swingers and have some seriously steamy adventures together? All of the major characters in this book were well fleshed out, and just a lot of fun to read about. I kind of wish Valley was MY next door neighbor because I could see us having a lot of fun together, in more ways than one ;-) Definitely check this one out, but be prepared for some super spicy scenes as well as laugh out loud moments.
First of all, I love the idea of different authors writing stories set in the same location with different characters. Juniper Court is a small cul-de-sac with lots going on behind closed doors.
David and Valley live at 6 Juniper Court and are exploring the swinger lifestyle. We get to watch the beginning of their journey.
There are ups and downs to this story. One minute I was chuckling and the next I was groaning with Valley at her frustration. This story felt a little longer than it needed to be and I skimmed a little bit, but I was still able to enjoy it. It was fun to see the other residents of Juniper Court who I've already met.
I was ready for a book that actually had a story to it and this swingers tale has one. You got to know at least the wife in the story and then to a lesser extent a few others. Some humor and a fair amount of sex, very readable.
What an introspective take on hot wiving! This was a great tale of how initially all was lost after a drunken night of letting out, they were swingers; but ultimately other swingers came to the rescue! Great final outcome!
What a naughty short book. I loved Valley for unashamedly being herself. She doesn't conform to what others think she should be. Shes a tiny bit spoiled. David indulges her every whim except for the week or so he was being a jackass. He had a right to be mad, but he could have done it differently. I loved how this book showed that it's ok to be different.
Wow! I devoured this book until 2am. (oops) This book was HOT! Valley is looking for something more. And MORE is definitely what she got. David goes along with what his wife wants. The two start on a journey that neither of them were prepared for but found it rewarding to them. Even after setbacks then come out as a strong couple. A great read. I'll definitely be looking for more from this series.
This book was ok. I felt that Valley put her needs before her family's in most of the book. I will admit when push came to shove she did what she could to save her family. I understood the need for more in her life even though it seemed as it was pushed on her husband as he would do anything to keep her happy. I just couldn't feel anything for her and that made this a tough read for me.
** I received this book in exchange for an honest review**
If you don’t take a cold shower or use the detachable shower head after reading this then you might need to see a doctor! I haven’t read a book so quickly in a long time. Once I started I couldn’t stop; Phoebe Alexander keeps getting better and better. Her scenes will have you tingling in all the right places. I absolutely loved Valley! She was a woman who doesn’t care what others think and goes after what she wants and thankfully has a husband who will stand with her. This was wonderfully written and with enough story to keep you flipping until you make it to the next date that David and Valley have.
Full Review: Have you ever wondered what the swinger lifestyle was all about? The first book in the exciting Juniper Court series will provide you with a small insight into the lifestyle. Project Paradise is an erotic novel meant for adults 18+. You definitely need an open mind going into this book. Told from the view point of the heroine Valley, this book tackles not only the details of how you “swing” but also the emotional tolls that result from being a buxom female swinger.
Valley and David recently moved to Juniper Court and David urges Valley to make friends with other mothers in their neighborhood for the benefit of their children. Valley is not a “Chatty Cathy”, yoga-pant wearing, Starbucks loving stereotypical woman. She’s a full-figured, cussing, tell-you-what-she-thinks woman who loves to read romance books. The sexier and hotter, the better. This often results in rewards for David in the bedroom. However, there are those times that David just wants to sleep.
Valley and David often play out scenes from books that Valley reads in their bedroom. As they are getting busy one night, they discuss a menage trois scene and both seem favorable. After more discussion, Valley comes to the conclusion that the swinger lifestyle is what they are both wanting. Valley being the type to take the bull by the horns gets busy the next day googling how to become a swinger.
The majority of the book is spent telling about the ups and downs of learning the new lifestyle. There are some sexy and hot moments and humorous moments. Then comes the climax of dealing with the fallout.
I will say that I liked Valley from the beginning. I’ve always liked a strong woman who knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to go for it. However, there was a point in the book where I was beginning to have negative feelings toward Valley and felt that she was a bit too judgemental. But then Phoebe Alexander throws that wrench in there that changes your mind. There came a point where we saw Valley’s vulnerable side and she redeemed herself. It was then that I realized that not only was Valley a strong woman, but she was real with her own insecurities.
In the end, I thoroughly enjoyed this book! It was my first book not only that I’ve read by this author but also about the swinger lifestyle. It won’t be my last.
Project Paradise (The Juniper Court Series) is an erotic romance novel written by Phoebe Alexander. The story is about a married couple named Valley and David and their two children, who have lived on Juniper Court in Seaview for less than a year. They don't know their neighbors very well, and David wants Valley to try to make friends in Seaview. Valley thinks that the women in Seaview are just jealous of her because she's seen how their husbands look at her.
One night Valley brings up the idea of having a threesome with another man to her husband, David. David thinks that it would be hot to watch his wife have sex with another man, as long as he gets to have a threesome with another woman in the future, and Valley has no problem with that idea. Somehow this idea then jumps to the couple wanting to become swingers, and they begin to research the swinger lifestyle on-line. They agree to have dinner with an older couple named Ed and Shawna, who have been in the swingers' lifestyle for many years and know many other couples in the lifestyle as well. Although Valley and David are not sexually attracted to Ed and Shawna, the couples become good friends, and Ed and Shawna invite Valley and David to their home for swinger parties where they meet other couples. Valley and David want to do a full swap with another couple, but they must be present in the room at the same time; these are their rules and they are non-negotiable. Valley and David feel that this lifestyle will bring them closer. Will Valley and David meet a couple or couples to swap with and truly enjoy the swinger lifestyle? How will the swinger lifestyle really effect their marriage?
I really enjoyed reading this book. I feel that Phoebe Alexander wrote a really hot, sexy and romantic book that went into great detail about what she feels is attractive about the swinger lifestyle, and how it can make a committed relationship even stronger. This is the second book that I have read by this author, and I am very interested to read even more of her novels after reading this book. Phoebe Alexander is just a really entertaining author because of her gift with words! But if you enjoy a hot, romantic read you will love this book!
Project Paradise is the first book in an amazing new series that will contain 7 books by 7 Authors.
Juniper Court is the new neighborhood that David and Valley have moved into with their son and daughter. Valley is the ultimate extrovert. She isn’t shy, she is proud of her voluptuous body and shows it off a little more than most moms do at school. Does she care? No. Is she “Basic”? Not on your life! But she is sweet, and caring and absolutely hysterical! I need her to be my neighbor so we can sit and drink wine when the kids are in bed laughing about the craziness that goes on around us.
David is her husband...her sweet, sexy, intelligent low key man. He is a great balance to Valley. He loves her body, her mind and her heart. He appreciates all she is and all she has to offer, while being able to keep her in check when it matters....at least most of the time. When he agrees to try swinging with other couples Valley is ecstatic and what follows is funny, sexy and at times a bit frustrating for the couple.
I love that David and Valley could be a couple you know. Even couples that seem to be complete opposites have that common thread. They need to have something that keeps them connected. Sure opposites “complete” and balance each other but they also bond over the things they both love despite those extreme differences they may possess. I also love that the road isn’t always smooth for these two. This isn’t a fairy tale, there are moments of total heartbreak, times you will sit there and see a bit of yourself in each of them, times you tell yourself they could absolutely be the couple you want to hang out with around a fire pit grilling and drinking some beer/wine/cocktails/soda, whatever your drink of choice may be. Why? Because they are down to earth, fun and flawed. (Not to mention sexy as all get out!). And what is better then a couple you read about that could be your best friends in real life? Check out the first book in Juniper Court today!
Project Paradise by Phoebe Alexander is part of the Juniper Court project were seven authors, write seven stories under one series.
Project Paradise follows the life of Valley and David and there introduction in the world of swinging. Not the 1940's dance wink wink.
Valley and David are a married couple with two children, they have all they ever wanted until one day while Valley was reading one of her raunchy books discovers the world of threesomes, later that evening while her and David are getting ready for bed she is still engrossed with the book when David asked what she was reading and his reaction is not what Valley expected.
So they decide to delve into the world of swingers, setting up a few meets does not go well until one night at a party they discover a couple they may want to play with, but it does not happen yet again. Valley is becoming more and more frustrated that this lifestyle my not be for them until one night in their newly acquired hot tub they start messing around with another couple but nothing goes further than kissing and fooling around.
All is going to plan until a neighbours party where their world comes clattering down, Valley can't keep her clothes on or mouth shut and David loses his job building the new church. David is furious and leaves Valley to get his head together, Valley is completely devastated.
I really enjoyed this story and related so well to the character of Valley minus the Swinger vibe. She is funny, vivacious and does not take herself to seriously, but the overall story was lovely. The kind words of wisdom from the older swingers and the relationships that both David and Valley have within the cul-de-sac and the lifestyle is lovely.
I have read alot of books by this author and her writing compliments the other stories within this series. All the authors have written the books perfectly sync with each other and each story follows along, although the books are to be read as standalone books, it is great how they all entwine each other so seamlessly.
David and Valley want to be swingers in a suburban neighborhood with a conservative PTA and his job with the local Catholic Church project. What could go wrong? This is a fun, sexy story about a happily married couple who are still in love and want to be swingers. It is an alternative lifestyle, but this sheds light on the regular people who enjoy it.
As they build "Project Paradise" and use it as their username for a swingers website, they meet some interesting people. It is not a smooth ride off to the swinger sunset, but a rather bumpy, awkward one at times. They meet other couples who are and are not like their pictures... not surprising when you "meet" people online. Then there are the hot and other times awkward hookups on their road to losing their swinger virginity.
Valley was refreshingly sexual and body positive about her own body. She was mostly self-confident and hilarious as she pointed out the many ways she did not conform to usual housewife/mother standards in her town. There was a humorous scene with her son at a play date.
Then there was the dramatic scene where it all seems to fall apart, and the unthinkable happens. Valley felt hurt, and I felt hurt for her as well as feeling like shaking her for having loose lips. And then there was David's reaction which I was annoyed with. The question becomes whether their marriage can withstand their new lifestyle?
This book has plenty of sex in it, and it is about the swinging lifestyle. So, if you have a problem with either one or both, this might not be your book. If you are enjoy reading about either one or both, this might be your book. I found it overall enjoyable, but the lifestyle was a bit much for me.
Since this is part of the Juniper Court series, other characters from the series are mentioned and even introduced. I am looking forward to reading more stories in this series.
Note: I received an advance copy which I have now posted my honest review.
“ProjectParadise, I typed in the bar. That’s our username.”
I absolutely loved this book! I am by far adoring this series. Before I get into the book and what is so amazing about it I want to mention this is part of the Juniper Court Series. You can read more about the rest of the books in the series and the authors behind them at www.junipercourtseries.com. This is a really awesome collaboration of women authors!
Project Paradise is about the couple living at 6 Juniper court, Valley and David Archer. They have recently just moved in and Valley is struggling to make friends with the other moms in the community. She is not like them is the problem. She is who she is and has zero apologies about it, which made the character so much fun to read.
“I’m just Valley all the time. Take it or leave it.”
Besides just having trouble fitting in with the moms, Valley feels like something is missing in her life, and marriage. It is a great one on both accounts, with two beautiful children and a loving adoring husband. One problem, she is insatiable… and frankly its hard keeping up with that.
“It’s just that I felt something was lacking. My blog filled a little bit of my time, as did my smutty romance novels, but it still seemed like something was missing. I wasn’t expecting motherhood and marriage to be a whirlwind adventure, but I did miss the anticipation of a big night out or a last minute get away.”
One thing leads to another and they find themselves logging on to a website looking into the ‘lifestyle’ of swinging. What a journey this is. Will this be the thing they are missing in their marriage or will it be the undoing of every good thing they have going? Will they find their paradise on Juniper Court?
This book was so much fun to read I found myself done with it is so fast that the book hangover was real! I can’t wait to find out what else is in store for the neighbors on Juniper Court. And I for sure will be jumping into another Phoebe Alexander novel soon!
I really really liked this book! This story is a risqué kind of story and the reader must be open minded, at least sexually open minded. Project Paradise gives you a look into a different lifestyle than most books.
The main characters, Valley and David, are a seemingly happily married couple looking to make a change. I liked Valley most of the time. I could see her insecurities hiding just below the surface. Her husband David though I am not so sure about. Sometimes he seemed almost perfect and then other times, completely closed off. I am sure he is a complete heart breaker. Some of the choices that Valley and her husband David made will not be everyone’s cup of tea. But that’s ok because variety is the spice of life! The cul-de sac that is the setting for most of this story has its typical soccer mom and PTA parents that made me laugh out loud at the accuracy. We are given a very small sneak peek into the other families/people on the cul -de-sac.
Since this is a series like no other I have read…I am seriously having a hard time waiting for the other books. Will the other stories be just as awesome? Can not wait to see what the others really think of Valley (love that name by the way) and David. What secrets could the neighbors be hiding?!
To me personally this book is a complete fantasy because I don’t think I could ever be like Valley. And that’s ok. This story was still an excellent read. I also found this book to be hot and funny and scary. Scary in the way being vulnerable makes you feel. Alexander uses her character, Valley, to teach us not to judge others and to have better communication with not just those we are intimate with but with those closest to us.
The title, Project Paradise, sounds like a goal we should all have. Everyone’s paradise is different and again that’s ok.
Project Paradise (The Juniper Court Series) by Phoebe Alexander
5 Stars
Ummm, Holy Moly what a book!! What a great start to this series...I wasn't sure how Id like this story just because of the lifestyle choice being chosen, and although not a choice I could ever make because I just can't imagine the sharing part, I have to say this was written in a way that I could almost understand how this choice would be made.
David and Valley were happily married in every sense of the word, but they were curious and with Valleys sense of adventure and her insatiable needs David would do just about anything to make her happy, and he was a little curious as well.
Living on a cul de sac with other families who Valley was convinced had already formed their opinions about her, which she was pretty much fine with because she knew she would never be the coffee drinking lularoe wearing soccer mom that the rest of them were, made making friends a little hard. She didn't know how to be discreet or fake and was never one to beat around the bush. We follow David and Valley as they explore something more, while still trying to be good parents to their two children. Can even the strongest marriage survive in this new lifestyle they are considering, and what will happen when the people in their small town catch on to it?
I loved both of these characters. Valley was awesome and I loved how she mothered her children, and loved her husband and how secure she was with who she was and offered no apology to anyone that couldn't accept that.
I can not wait to continue this series, its going to be interesting reading different perspectives from different authors. I think this is an amazing idea, but just focussing on this one right now...This is my second read by this author and I can not wait to read more from her, this was awesome!!!
Juniper Court is a series of novels set in the Juniper Court cul-de-sac and written by several different authors. Project Paradise is author Phoebe Alexander’s offering. This installment is focused on the occupants of 6 Juniper Court, Valley and David Archer. Valley, David and their two children have recently moved to Juniper Court which is in a town where all the moms wear the same clothes, drink frou-frou coffee and talk about each other. Valley has a hard time with the other mothers she has seen since she is nothing like them. Valley is independent, strong willed and at times brash. She likes herself the way she is and doesn’t make excuses for herself. Her husband is concerned their children will suffer because of this. Valley is also a woman who owns her sexuality, she knows what she likes and she won’t back down. One evening the couple discusses bringing another partner aboard and things escalate from there. After reading the blurb on the back of the book I figured I had it all figured out but I was wrong. I have to say there was so much more to this book and I really enjoyed seeing how Valley and David worked out their interest in swinging and how it ends up affecting their relationship. I am not interested in swinging on a personal level but I can see how others are drawn to the lifestyle, if you are curious on how it works then I think this book gives good insight. While an interesting read for me I found that I had a hard time with Valley’s character, at times I found her to be very spoiled, acting more like a teenager than the mom of two. Overall though this book kept my attention and I am interested in reading some of the other stories in the Juniper Court series.
Project Paradise by Phoebe Alexander 5 out of 5 stars Project Paradise written by Phoebe Alexander is a five-star read. This is the first book in the Juniper Court series, and the second book that I have read in this amazing series. There are 7 books in this unique series written about a cul-des-ac and its occupants so that means we get to read 7 different stories by different authors with their own unique writing. This story is about 6 Juniper Court and it’s rumored to be a swinger’s paradise.
Valley Archer and her husband David have recently moved to Juniper Court. David is an architect and Valley is an interior designer who stays home now.
Valley knows she's different from the other moms in her neighborhood. She doesn't enjoy baking, never goes to Starbucks, and wouldn't be caught dead in yoga pants. She never leaves the house without her make up or hair done.
So what does Valley like?
Sex. And lots of it. Her poor husband David is having a hard time keeping up. And then one night Valley and David discuss the possibility of becoming swingers, Valley jumps on it and starts planning.
I loved how the characters weren’t the typical cookie cutter types that are in so many books. They were well developed and the way they interact with the secondary characters are amazing. I enjoyed the aspect that in David and Valley’s lifestyle every encounter wasn’t played wasn’t perfect. This made the story very believable.
I highly recommend this story/series and I can’t wait to see who is writing the next installment and what they have in-stored for us. By Tracy
a great read about trying new things. After nine months in a new town Sunview without making any friends, David encourages his wife Valley to find some friends and get involved in the local community. to try to appease for her husband, she tries to find a shared interest but is unsuccessful. until she lands upon a website for swingers and discovers a new passion. whilst on a new adventure, they make new friends and explore something different. a great read, well developed plot. well developed characters such as Valley as a caring mother but also going for what she wants. David's sweet and caring nature as a loving husband who always supports his wife. I loved the sense of adventure throughout the story adding to the fun explorative nature of the piece. .the sense of community in the little neighbourhood was brilliantly written. the feel of a small town was depicted perfectly with its sense of friendly people , exactly how smaller towns can be in real life. this had a homely feel to the piece. this simple setting helped to add to the sense of family and the community of the town and the swingers. a great read full of sensual imagery in the sex scenes which was excellently written. but there was also loved the use of visual imagery in the detail of their house and the stars over the hot tub I also liked the mix between Valleys dreams of swinging and her reality of family life and interior design. The only issue I would raise is that Valley seemed to do too much of declaring how much she loved her husband when it was already seen in their relationship together and felt repeated. Overall, a fuu read and I would give it four stars.
Project Paradise ( The Juniper Court Series) byPhoebe Alexander
Project Paradise ( The Juniper Court Series ) byPhoebe Alexander is a part of The Juniper Court Series which is written by several different authors. I absolutely loved this book . I'm going to say this book is definitely intended for mature adults and definitely not for anyone under the age of 18.I love Phoebe Alexander she's quickly becoming one of my favorite authors,I've read other books by her and loved them all.I will say I absolutely devoured this entire book in one sitting I couldn't put it down even if the house was on fire(kidding partly). This is the story of David and Valley. These two have just moved to Juniper Court ,David is constantly trying to get Valley to make friends with the other moms . Valley is different than the other moms and she doesn't like the things they do.She likes sex and lots of it.She finds herself checking out the Internet about swingers. In turn she's now finding herself determined to turn the basement into a Swingers paradise,But at exactly what cost?Valley doesn't really care what others think about their lifestyle but she finds herself curious if their are other Swingers in the community? Can their marriage stand up to this lifestyle? Does fate have something else in mind for them?I will say that oh my is tjis book freaking Hot and Steamy! You will definitely need a cool down when you get finished. I highly recommend this book and the series and I can't wait to read the next installment.
I just finished reading Project Paradise (Juniper Court series), by Phoebe Alexander.
Valley Archer certainly doesn’t follow the trends unless she herself wants to and I applaud her for it. Valley has spunk, humor, sarcasm, quick wits, style, sex appeal and sex drive - and lot’s of it!
David is completely in love with his wife - that much is obvious and he has never tried to change her in any way. But sometimes she is hard to keep up with.
I read the synopsis before I started the book, thinking I knew exactly what I was in for. Nope - as good as the synopsis is, it doesn’t come close to do the book itself, justice.
We really get to know Valley and David - they become very real people that have flaws, questions and wants - and it’s very interesting watching them expressing themselves.
I absolutely LOVED the relationship between David and Valley - they both seem to be very strong characters but together, they become one - completing each other perfectly.
How does one find swingers? I wouldn’t have a clue how to get started and neither did Valley - it was so much fun, getting to see how they started out and to follow them along as they learn the do’s and don'ts of this whole other community.
I could easily read books about some of the other characters in this book and I won’t be long hunting down the rest of this series - Phoebe does a phenomenal job with her book and I can’t wait to see how the other authors do.
5 stars from me, although I wish I could give this steamy book more than that!
Project Paradise by Phoebe Alexander is part of the Juniper Court Series. This series is a number of books written by different authors about the families living on Juniper Court.
This book is particular was about David and Valley Archer. Valley likes to read romance novels and one day she was reading a really hot scene and started to talk to her husband about it.
Within no time at all they were considering bringing another person into their bed. Valley did some research and decided her and David were going to register online at a Swingers website.
Valley didn’t have many friends where they lived. Most women were soccer moms or yoga moms and Valley wasn’t like that at all. She liked to be dressed nice and have her hair/makeup done anytime she left the house.
They ended up meeting a few couples thru the website but nothing really happened. Now with their basement being remodeled to become their swinger paradise.
Trying to raise a family, make friends and possibly more in the swinger lifestyle isn’t so easy in a small town. Especially living In a cul-de-sac.
I thought this book was very well written. Valley reminds me of so many moms that I see on a daily basis. I didn’t really like the character of Valley. She just seemed like what she wanted was more important that what she had at times. Over all, I thought the book was good.
Book Review: Project Paradise (Juniper Court Series) Author: Phoebe Alexander FIVE STARS Book one of the Juniper Court Series is written by Phoebe Alexander. Valley and her husband David live in a cul-de-sac and are fairly new to the location. Valley is not your typical mom, she doesn't really fit in. Trying to become more social, Valley decides to spice things up in her and David's sex life. This leads to the story we read here in Project Paradise. Things are going to get a whole lots spicier in Juniper Court. This book is a very quick read at right around 60K words. Phoebe Alexander is one of my newest one click authors. I have read just about everything she has written and she manages to pull me into each other. I am just so over the top excited about her body positive/sex positive messages in all of her books. Valley is a mid 30's woman who is a size 16 and her husband loves her curves. I adore Valley and her attitude. This book is for adult audiences only as it does have sexual encounters that are for mature audiences. Great quick read. FABULOUS I am excited to get my hands on the rest of the books. There are seven books in this series each one dealing with someone else in the neighborhood and all written by different authors. Kelli Harper
