My name’s Rebecca Ellington, and I’m so thrilled to introduce you to Capsule Craze: A Comprehensive Guide to Building Your Own Capsule Wardrobe.
If you’re anything like me, at least once in your life you’ve found yourself looking into your closet bursting with clothes of different shapes, sizes, and colors only to find yourself thinking that you somehow have nothing to wear out that day.
The more frequently I found myself feeling that way, the more stressed out I was becoming. Going to the mall started to feel like a chore and keeping up with the ever-revolving door of fashion trends was enough to drive me batty. Who even has the time to sift through drawers and drawers of clothing when there’s so much other work to be done in the day? Not me!
When I first heard about the Capsule Wardrobe concept as I was traveling through Europe, I felt like a weight had been lifted and I was finally being heard. Someone else understood the headaches are heartaches of this seemingly never-ending problem, and it was so simple to solve I almost felt foolish that I hadn't thought of it sooner.
Less is more - that's the mantra of the Capsule Wardrobe movement.
Ever since I adopted a more minimalist lifestyle, I’m happier, confident; I even have more money in my bank account to spend on things that really matter, like spending more time with my family and friends.
If that sounds like something you’d like to bring into your life, look no further than this book!
This author has a great message and I found the information very useful. It was a shame how many typos were in this text. It was distracting. I usually dismiss an article as amateur when I find them and there were almost a dozen in this short book. I’d love to see a second edition with better editing and washing/ mending tips.
Nothing new here. The author also gives some dubious advice. She assumes that all apple shaped women have good legs and should emphasize them. She also has incredibly boring suggestions for women over 50: giving up their youthful fashions in favor of “classics”, solids, neutrals. I’m over 50 and just bought a marigold yellow motorcycle jacket.
Review: the Comprehensive Guide to Building Your own Capsule Wardrobe
First of all this book was an incredibly easy read. The subject matter isn’t what I would usually read. But there were some wonderful facts and history behind the term “capsule wardrobe” that I wasn’t even aware of until I read this particular eBook.
The book takes you through simple and easy to understand steps on how you can go about creating your capsule wardrobe. It has plenty of examples and straightforward explanations for things to help you as you plan your capsule wardrobe. There are lots of helpful tips like going through your current clothes and making your capsule wardrobe from what you already own. Or going to thrift stores or shopping online to buy pre loved items.
It also brings up some very good points like being aware of so called “deals” and shopping ethically; and to also to be on the look out for those discounts as getting 10% off (for example) on your first shop for signing up to company emailing lists.
When the book was talking about fast fashion (or as I call it “throw away fashion”) I was able to relate to those mornings I have spent an age deciding on what to wear; and wasting time better spent on other things.
All in all it is a very well written non fiction book. The author writes in a way that is very easy to read and understand. Everything is explained extremely well. I’d certain,y recommend this book to anyone interested in fashion and/or creating their own capsule wardrobe.

I purchased this book because I am having a hard time with dressing myself and looking fashionable. I usually end up looking like I let my 8 year old niece dress me...
I haven’t even tried to accessorize at all, ever, because I have had no idea where to begin!
I was so enthralled with the info, I read this book twice in a row!
I’m not very good with being fashionable. I don’t often try to concern myself with designing my wardrobe. I currently own a lot of articles of clothing that don’t fit me because I have lost about 40 lbs of weight.
I have learned so much about the concepts of capsule wardrobes and I am extremely excited to be able to evolve my wardrobe to more fit my style I am working on developing.
This book has sections on how to design and plan your capsule, complete with color complimenting swatches to help me decide what colors go well together.
I lovingly recommend this book to anyone who wants to create a signature look that makes them feel more of whatever feeling they are trying to attain.
As someone who had never really given Capsule Wardrobes any thought, I found this book to be something of an eye-opener. It was easily relatable, as many a time I have found myself staring into my wardrobe with a blank look on my face and a pile of tried on outfits on the bed. I’m sure that most of us have suffered from Decision Fatigue even if we didn’t know it! I have picked up so many helpful tips from fashion that suits me to how to pack my suitcase on my next holiday – that’s definitely going to save me some stress.
In a world where time is everything Capsule Craze offers an easy to read guide which is bound to save you a lot of time, money and energy. With this guide creating your own Capsule Wardrobe couldn’t be simpler. After reading this, I definitely think it’s time to go and sort out my wardrobe!
This kindle book (which I picked up for free when it was on offer over Christmas) is a fairly reasonable guide for people new to the idea of a capsule wardrobe. It includes brief sections on the history of the capsule wardrobe, body shape, kids, over 50s, travel and accessories, nothing for men though.
It's easy to read, and some of the ideas are pretty good.
There were a number of typos throughout, unfortunately, which I expect can be rectified by an update, and I found a few of the sections a little too brief for me (personal preference).
Not aimed at the self-sewn capsule wardrobe, this is still a reasonable guide for anyone wanted to learn more about the concept, and it includes a guide to a 21 day challenge to give it a try.
This book was very informative and eye opening! I have a huge wardrobe and always have trouble figuring out what to wear. I liked that it told you the history of a wardrobe capsule, explained the concept, and gave multiple examples of how to create your own. I borrowed the ebook version from Kindle Unlimited so I could look at the pictures and charts that the audio was referring to. I liked the 21 day challenge at the end of the book and hope to implement it in my life to try to declutter and build my own wardrobe capsule for a more stress free lifestyle. Charity did a good job narrating this book. She spoke in an engaging informative voice that kept me listening until the very end! *I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
I found it very compelling, that got me to start second-guessing my own wardrobe, it’s very helpful as it showed me step by step on how to create my own capsule wardrobe by first questioning whether you need a capsule wardrobe or not, which I did, then giving you the structure of a capsule wardrobe, total amount of clothes one needs without excluding jewelry accessories to match with one's clothes. Honestly speaking I found my own wardrobe cluttered with junk clothes. It’s quite a remarkable self-guide book. I have never considered my body shape when buying my clothes, I sure will now. I give it a five star. I also loved the language use, simple and engaging
I don't know a lot about capsule wardrobes, being a trans mess who makes a beeline for Weird Clothes (when I have the energy anyway), so this was helpful, written in an accessible conversational tone.
I appreciate the non-shaming of different body types, though mention of the sexism because we really shouldn't have to worry so much about fashion would have been nice. But the author seems to cover everything regarding different situations and I would definitely rec, especially if you're new to this like me.
While there are helpful tips and guidelines in this book, the poor editing took away from the overall message. When I find myself wanting to volunteer to edit someone's work, it indicates that the errors are great enough or frequent enough to be highly distracting from the message.
Getting dressed for an event has always been a challenge. While I’m not going to eliminate most of my wardrobe, I will use many of the concepts in this book.
Audible:Not a stand alone book.Should be only sold with workbook. Some good ideas for working people or city folks. It won't work for everyone Good narration by Charity May.I was given this book by the narrator, author or publisher free for an honest review.
