I’m Todd Hampson and I produce comically illustrated books and products that help people consider the claims of Bible prophecy so they can face today with a sense of joy, courage, clarity, and purpose (toddhampson.com).

For many people, the topic of Bible prophecy is about as inviting as sticking your face in a bees nest. I use my background as an illustrator and animation producer to smoke out the bees and help people see how awesome the honey really is.

I try to write books that make the study of Bible prophecy a little less intimidating. Rather than yell at you with a bull-horn or walk around with a sandwich board on, I hope to peel back the layers of negative connotations people have related to Bible prophecy and refocus their attention on the incredible future promises we have when we have put our faith in Christ.

I have an amazing wife who happens to be the best middle school language arts teacher on the planet (sorry other middle school language arts teachers) and three soccer-loving children who make me better every day. They mean the world to me and remind me that my success is ultimately defined by how well they thrive. When Jesus comes back or when I get a few pounds of dirt thrown on my box—whichever comes first—I want my family to know they were more important to me than any earthly accolade or accomplishment.

I’m also the founder of an animation development and production company called Timbuktoons (timbuktoons.com), a volunteer church leader at a thriving local church, and a boxer (my "hobby"). I love mission work and have been to Brazil, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, and a few other places on short term missions.

Above all, I want to leverage my life for Christ and tell as many people as possible about His amazing gift of eternal life in heaven (John 3:16) and the abundantly full life he offers here on Earth (John 10:10). When you have the cure to everything, you tend to want to share it.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
—John 3:16

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
—John 10:10

Although I knew this would reflect the author's own position, I had the impression going in that it would also be a good introduction to the overall "options" when it comes to eschatological interpretation. Unfortunately, the bias was far more pervasive than expected.

There are sections that address the various approaches to Revelation, the three major millennial views, and the three primary views of the rapture. However, the bias toward pre-trib premillennialism and a futurist view of Revelation is so overwhelming that these sections are not helpful. Alternative views are not all represented fairly and accurately, which might lead someone to prematurely discard a given position.

In the application sections of the book, this bias also comes through, with the author indicating that a particular passage teaches something -- where the "something" is actually his interpretation, and that isn't made clear to the reader. For example, we're told that Ezekiel 38-39 promises an attack on Israel by a Russian-Arab alliance. One might think the passage spells that out explicitly; however, the term interpreted as "Russia" may or may not even be a name.

The audience is slightly unclear, with the text seeming, in some places, to be targeted at non-Christians but, in other places, to assume a level of Scriptural familiarity the average churchgoer lacks. It is definitely from a mainstream evangelical perspective, with an explicit appeal to (and description of) dispensationalism and heavy use of Christian clichés (such as "God is a gentleman").

With that said, the author displays an obvious faithfulness to the gospel, and to building a faithful Church that trusts God's Word rather than the world's philosophies. His treatment of eschatology is clearly aimed toward producing true evangelism and discipleship. It avoids sensationalism and wild predictions. I would have liked it better had it been more clearly presented and marketed as an argument for dispensational, pre-trib, premillennialism, rather than coming across as a semi-objective approach to end times prophecy in general.

I avoid Bible prophecy like the plague. Pun intended. It is just so confusing, and quite frankly, not that interesting. Todd Hampson has written and illustrated this simplified guide for all of us who dislike the subject. Unlike a previous reviewer, I don't think that this is necessarily for new Christians. As broken-down as the subject is in this book, it is still overwhelming.

This is not the type of book you read straight through. I recommend reading a couple of pages and letting it digest. I had to re-read a few sections. This is a book to study and come back to.

Interesting material for anyone interested in the end of days

This certainly was an interesting take for me as I’ve not read much regarding end times or prophecy. My wife asked me to read this with her and I was pleasantly surprised. We are already interested in the book he wrote regarding Revelation, so that is next on our list together. Definitely recommended if end times and prophecy interests you.

If you have ever wondered about biblical prophecy, even if it was just a passing question that stirred your interest, I highly recommend reading a new release from Harvest House Publishers. Written and illustrated by Todd Hampson, “The Non- Prophet’s Guide to the End Times: Biblical Prophecy for Everyone” is an engaging and understandable book that is overflowing with down-to-earth information, helping us understand the ins and outs of the important element of prophecy in the Bible. Todd Hampson promises this book will cut through the complexity and confusion of his topic, be entertaining and user-friendly, and be full of fascinating visuals, timelines, and charts - and this book more than delivers on every promise.

Although I have done a bit of studying on biblical prophesy in the past, I never really found a resource that tied it all together or described it in a way that was meaningful to me. This book, however, was different. Filled with diagrams, charts, drawings, timelines, (and even humorous cartoons!) this book brings a weighty topic to life and makes it fun to learn about. This is definitely not to say that the subject of the end times is treated with irreverence or glossed over as something to joke about - on the contrary, I gained more understanding and grasped the meanings of so many prophesies that had never made sense to me before. In addition, I found the book instilled a sense of hope, as God’s plans for the future became a beautiful event to look forward to with anticipation rather than disinterest or dread.

There is SO much information packed into the 224 pages of “The Non-Prophet’s Guide to the End Times”, but I will share with you just a few of my favorite (and what I considered most eye-opening) discussions: Specific Examples of Fulfilled Prophecies; Definitions of Key Terms; The Keys to Watching God’s Plan Unfold; A More Detailed Outline of Revelation; The Signs of Nature; and so much more. Throughout the book I was also encouraged to further research key topics for myself, as the author continually urges readers to form their own opinions through deeper study.

If you have ever thought there was no way you could understand the puzzle of biblical prophecy for yourself, I strongly encourage you to find a copy of “The Non-Prophet’s Guide to the End Times” and begin a study of this perspective-altering topic. You will never look at words like “apocalypse” or “tribulation” again! Or, if you have studied this topic for yourself already, this book is still a wonderful tool that is filled with visual aids and well-researched explanations to help it come to life even more.

In the end, I excitedly recommend Todd Hampson’s remarkable new book to everyone who has ever thought that biblical prophecy was a complicated topic that should only be studied by “experts” - indeed, you will be well on your way to biblical prophesy proficiency after reading “The Non-Prophet’s Guide to the End Times”!!

I have found this book to be super helpful, and I am thoroughly enjoying it! It’s easy to follow and understand, makes Bible prophecy relevant, and makes a usually very difficult and often mysterious subject more clear and accessible.

What’s really special about the book, though, are the comic illustrations. Todd Hampson is a very gifted artist. His book has illustrations, graphs, charts, and one main character, the Non-Prophet, who provides a great amount of comic relief. The lightness that his artwork brings to a typically heavy subject only increases the audience that will be drawn to this book and makes it all the more enjoyable to read.

I would say that this book can be ready by anyone from 13+. If you, or anyone you know, has ever wondered what the Bible really says about the end times, about the return of Christ, the rapture, the millennium, the church age, and how it is at all relevant to Christians today, this book is a fantastic place to start. It's like Bible Prophecy 101.

I’m sure that this book would be a great addition to your personal or church library, and make a great tool for studying Bible prophecy on your own or with a group.

I'm fairly knowledgeable on Bible prophecy, but I learned a lot from the Non-Prophet! I never compared the rapture to Noah's ark before. When God sent judgement to Earth during Noah's time, He took His people above the turmoil. Same with the rapture - He will take His saints above the judgement for seven years and set us back safely on a new Earth after the tribulation! Mr. Hampson does an amazing job of explaining (with extensive scripture support and a lot of common sense) why the rapture will happen before the tribulation. Thank you for a logical, easy to understand summary! Can't rate this book high enough. I bought a copy for my unsaved 40-year-old son to help him understand too. Since he's not a reader (how can that happen?), I read it for him and underlined the key points he should pay attention to, as well as notating in the front cover pages and quotes. Hey, we do what we have to do for our unsaved children right, with hopes of seeing them upstairs soon!

Just finished reading this amazing book on the end times according to the Bible. Revelation 1:3 tells us "blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near". If you ever felt that you just didn't understand what the Word was saying, this book has the answers. It is very easy to read and understand. The author has included graphics, charts and light humor. He starts with the foundation you need in order to continue to build your faith. I recommend this book for anyone who has ever been interested in bible prophecy but didn't know where to start!

Having trouble understanding end times events?

This book is a well written and easy to understand journey through the prophecies in the Bible relating to end times events. The author does an incredible job laying a foundation for understanding prophecy and the reasons for needing to be aware of it. If you’re looking for a read that doesn’t get weird but lays a great framework to help you understand what the Bible is showing us about the past, present and future then this is a must read.

We did the video series for a Sunday School class at church which led me to read the book. I'd recommend both for Middle School-Adult age for a Sunday School class, Small group study, Book Club, or even just the book as a personal read is good too. The author explains things well in laymen terms and makes good use of visuals to demonstrate his points. Also enjoyed the comics.

Best book ever!! So clear, easy to read, follow and understand. Great illustrations, charts, and explanations. Lays out all views of the rapture, millennium, and interpretation, then presents what he views as the Biblical perspective. Great discussion opener in a small group!! Definitely a must read!!!

Well-developed, clear and concise, “The Non-Prophets Guide to the End Times” by Todd Hampson is an engaging and user-friendly explanation of prophecy in the Bible. Filled with diagrams, charts, drawings, timelines it’s an easier exploration of a topic many find difficult and hard to understand. Mixed into what many construe as a weighty subject are humorous illustrations, and Quick Facts as well as biblical references that not only support the author’s points but make them easy to understand and delightful to follow.

This book is not only entertaining, but inspirational. You won’t put it down until finished and will find yourself checking out the biblical scriptures outlined to gain further insight. “The Non-Prophets Guide to the End Times” is a must read as it gives a clear indications of what’s ahead in its exploration of the reasons for studying prophecy; prophetic revelations; the signs to look for; and a look ahead to the rapture and millennium. I thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend it to believers and skeptics alike.

This is the second Todd Hampson book that I have read. This book is logical and well organized, tying together the end time prophecies in the Old and New Testaments. Anyone interested in Bible prophesy should enjoy this book as it is not only insightful but, as a cartoonist, the author includes humorous illustrations to make his points and to provide breaks in the text. Todd Hampton has a teaching rather than sermonizing style. He explains terms, gives the reader different viewpoints, includes historical background, and outlines books and sections of Scripture. This is a book to keep on one’s shelf to use as a reference tool for future study.

I don't think many believers often pay much attention to prophecy and end times, but prophecy is 1/3 of the Bible so it's clearly important. Seeing Biblical prophecy come true in modern day history has strengthened my faith and excites me more about the coming Kingdom. It also is an urgent reminder about the limited time on earth. The graphics and illustrations make it easy to visualize and understand certain timelines and comparisons. I highly recommend for a basic understanding of important pieces of the Bible!

I really enjoyed this book. I read it with a friend over the course of a couple of months and we had weekly discussions about it. It was a great book to do that with. The Non-Prophet’s Guide book series are great! Written in a way that is easy to understand, entertaining, & full of fun facts that tie current events to Biblical prophecy that are real eye opening. Good reading for anyone interested in the topic.

Good but not so much.

I used this ebook in conjunction with the video. The video sessions did not sequence well with the book. The last session was a bit of a bust. Some of the predictions were a bit iffy. I used this for a study and the topic was great, the overall concept was easy to grasp and our group enjoyed the study, but it was a lot of work making this successful.

This book made an intimidating subject feel less daunting. The author explains different eschatological views and reasons for them. He is clear about his own views and dives deeper into those views using Scripture, Jewish tradition, and research to explain why he believes the way he does.

Originally bought this book thinking it would help my young son with questions about Revelation. It’s slightly above his level but packed with good information. I walked away with a much better understanding of the timetable the Bible gives for the end times.
