The Allotment Book: A Practical Guide to Creating and Enjoying Your Own Perfect Plot

Rate this book
No longer considered the realm of old men in sheds, allotment gardening is currently enjoying a renaissance of interest. People of all ages and from all walks of life are digging their own plots in search of fresh, organic produce. Designed to both inspire the next generation of plot-holders and to provide the necessary practical knowledge, this insightful handbook unveils new eco-gardening techniques, as well as the various weird and wonderful ways people make use of their plots. A history of allotments featuring photos and interviews is also included along with tips for finding, assessing, and clearing an allotment and advice on choosing a gardening method; picking a cultivation approach; constructing sheds, compost bins, and other structures; and—of course—selecting the right crops.

This book was exactly what I was looking for. A lot more information that is specifically useful for me and my veggie patch. I especially appreciate that this book is a little more detailed and in depth than some others I have purchased.
