Hard to make this kind of book 5 stars. But helpful nonetheless.

There is French in the book, so you might learn it that way. The organization is quite poor, and there seems to be little thought put into what should be learned first, and how to build up the language bit by bit. All in all, it proved to be a useless and expensive purchase, which I made only because it was required for a class.

Straightforward, common-sense approach.

As far vocabulary and practice translations go, it is much heavier on the "sciences" side than the "arts."

Helped me pass the French challenge exam so I wouldn't have to take French in my graduate studies. I never studied French in my life. This book was very helpful and broke lessons down in manageable chunks.
