My son is in the midst of a huge motorcycle phase (somehow--we certainly don't have any or talk about them until he did), so this book was a big hit. And I actually learned about different motorcycles myself, so a win-win all around.
Small-sized picture book with rhyming text in big, bold letters; about two lines per page. Non-fiction book for preschoolers with topics like types of motorcycles, how to ride a motorcycle, history, and ends with going to a beach picnic on a motorcycle. Last page show the parts of a motorcycle. The bright and colorful illustrations show cartoon-like animal characters as the riders wearing a variety of appropriate motorcycle jackets and gear.
This was a gift for our first kid, and the second may appreciate it even more! Great cadence and fun drawings; I recommend the series. We also appreciate that our two-year old points out the helmets on anyone riding a motorcycle.
The illustrations are captivating, featuring unique characters riding motorbikes. The story is well-written, offering enough detail for kids to dive into and enjoy the exciting world of motorbikes.
Currently in the rotation of books on repeat for my almost two year old who’s obsessed with motorcycles. He thinks it’s hilarious that the dirt bike ends up in the water. I’d give this book 5 stars if the fire and ems bikes were omitted, maybe that’s a non-US thing but everything else is great. I really enjoy the rhymes in this book.
Fun, rhyming text and colorful cartoonish illustrations follow the adventures of a group of diverse animal friends as they ride and otherwise use various types of motorcycles. This book should appeal to preschool and primary grade motorcycle/vehicle enthusiasts. Some of the vocabulary may need to be explained (e.g., snazzy; bliss; rugged) or may be challenging to decode for newly independent readers (e.g., suitable, touring, cruising, throttle, distances).
