I really like this book and here's why:
1. "realistic-looking" illustrations of dinosaurs (my students love this aspect of the book.)
2. incorporation of onomatopoeia
3. dinosaur types are clearly labeled
4. there is an image of a flower on every page for the reader to look for/notice
5. the use of interesting punctuation (e.g. exclamation marks and ellipses)

Audience: EC-1st grade
Curriculum Connections: dinosaurs, onomatopoeia, interesting verbs, FUN!

Took me awhile to get through this one since I would've rather read the color book. That being said, I never realized that dinosaurs possessed so many interesting qualities - scales, spikes, sharp teeth. I have a feeling this won't be my last book on dinosaurs.
