A Catholic school where everything seems tranquil and fine. But for Ayeon, a day doesn't pass without getting bullied until one day, Yeonhwa steps in against the bullies. Ayeon is grateful for Yeonhwa but what she doesn't realize is that there seems to be something more than just good intentions behind that beautiful smile.
This story is so ... To begin with, don't expect a good end to it. The story is quite heavy and I believe that the author has created very well its main character, who by the way is a psychopath or sociopath, who knows? Almost everyone in this story develops some sort of mental issue, either because of the continuing abuse or because they were already like that to begin with. Again, the story deals with quite heavy topics such as sexual abuse, bullying, rape, etc. Although the story has left me uncomfortably many times, I couldn't stop reading until the end. I needed to understand some of the mysteries. Anyway...4,8 stars
Those are two really fu*ked up characters... This story is all about manipulation, bullying (and not the basic kind) and the consequences. At least one of the characters is quite simply a psychopath or has a similar personality disorder and the others were warped by the events.
if you’re into more darker yuri / lesbian media in general, this webtoon will probably be recommended to you at least ten thousand times and i’m here to tell you…it’s absolutely deserving of so. not only is it fucked up (extremely bullying, incest, sexual assault) but it’s also not terribly written and feels long enough that it feels like a genuine story and not just fetish content or something. Yeonhwa is now in my list of evil people that i can’t look away from and even if i didn’t like everyone, i definitely couldn’t stop reading as i was so interested to see how it would play out. i’m excited to read the sequel!
I don't know how to feel about this. A lot was going on, and I genuinely didn't understand the reason for things. I don't have much to say either. The relationship between the characters was sick and weird. I'm happy I've found a dark GL, but this is a bit too much for me. A lot of things weren't finished, and I would have liked to see more; maybe that way, I would have got the idea.
The end was unexpected but unreasonable, not because Baek didn't deserve it but because things happened fast and many things didn't make sense to me.
White angels Have no Wings is a yuri manhwa about how a student from a Catholic school is constantly bullied by a group of rude girls until Yeonhwa, a weak looking albino girl, defends her then becomes her friend. However Yeonhwa has ulterior motives, and schemes a plan to blackmail Dahye, the leader of the bullies who is also the best student of the school, so she could get close to her too.
This story has a serious, dark tone, and deals with, what people would call... problematic themes (sexual assault, violence, bullying, harassment, incest). All the main characters with the exception of Ayeon have psychological problems. Though Yeonhwa stands out because she's a psychopath whose goal is to have control over the people she gets obsessed with, thus harming and causing severe trauma in some of her victims.
In the time I've read yuri mangas I think it's the first time I see a twisted story like this (at least one whose topics aren't treated as jokes), I'm very glad authors of yuri korean comics dare to expand the horizons of the genre and delve into stories with serious themes or with adult characters. I enjoyed reading this a lot despite some flaws here and there. At some point I felt like I found the Harada of the Yuri genre, i sneaked a peak at the sequel of this comic and I might not be wrong thinking that.
I stopped this years ago, because I had a hard time reading through most of it but since I saw this title is having a sequel I continued reading it just now. It's still so messed up, no characters to really like. Alot of characters that are so annoying. The art is fantastic tho.
If you are looking for a comic which centers manipulative, horrible teenage girls who bully each other, this is the story for you. Be aware that you need to read this with suspension of disbelief. If you are looking for morally good characters and endings where bad people are punished, this is not for you. However, if you are in the mood for the fight between an unapologetic sadist and an enthusiastic bully, you can have fun with this. (Especially because the author knows what they are doing and does not romanticise anything that happens)
It made my jaw drop with how twisted, intense and dark the story was. The characters are well written in a complex and disturbing way especially Yeonhwa.
It’s a good plot, but not for those who are uncomfortable with sensitive topics. The dark themes and complex characters made me feel hatred and sympathy at the same time. Most of them were all messed up but Gado did well with the gripping plot.
