book to use for the war of 1812. Historical fiction about a real event. It was hard to find many read alouds about this real life event but this is a good one to use. Abigail and Rebecca Bates alone trick and scare off the British. The story takes place in Cedar Point, Ma. The British come on to land and take captive the lighthouse keeper, which is also Abigail and Rebecca's father. It's great story that incorporates 1812 information throughout the story but also connecting to 2 kids.

I honestly remember nearly nothing about that book. That tells you something about how good it was. XD
