This is a lovely picture book about the times of New France (currently known as the province of Quebec, Canada). I bought and read this book for the historical-fiction book I am writing about my mother's descendants who moved from France to New France and lived there beginning in the mid-1600s. This book is perfect for me because it has pictures of how people dressed during this time: the buildings and landscape, and other important images from that time-period which I will have to describe in my book (mid-1600s to the early 1700s). Therefore, I am using it as a reference book! The first time for me using a child's bk for a non-child book audience! But what an excellent resource it is!
