After suffering a traumatic experience, Savannah shuts herself off from everything. Her husbands, her friends, the world. Once bubbly and full of life, she’s now scared.
Max and Logan don’t know how to help their wife. They know she’s hiding something and they’ll do whatever they have to in order to find out what.
Can two cowboys help the one woman who means everything to them or will she be lost to them forever?
Welcome to Haven, where the men are handsome, sexy and overprotective, and where their women are the center of their world.
Laylah loves reading, but she particularly loves a good romance with some seriously alpha men. Protective, possessive men with large hearts. Writing has become her passion and she hopes her readers enjoy her stories as much as she does writing them.
Romance genre: menage; recovery story (I just made that up!) Series: Haven, Texas Length: 187 pages
Plot: In the previous book in the series (Laken's Surrender), Savannah had been kidnapped and tortured for a short time. She is struggling with returning to normalcy, as are her two husbands, brothers Max and Logan. They want to do right by her but just aren't sure what that is. Savannah doesn't what the right thing to do is either, but she feels like she's flailing. The larger part of this story is about her recovery and how the family unit interacts throughout that time. There's also a plot strand about a possible stalker and financial difficulties.
Character development: Savannah (Savi) always seemed so bubbly in the previous books, so it was a turnabout to see her here, not as upbeat and struggling with the aftermath of her attack. I felt like it was realistically done, with none of the three characters knowing exactly what to do or say to make it better, and even amongst all that turmoil, life went on and they had to deal with bills and work and outside interference. Typically, I like the chase in a romance story - how they get to know each other, how they develop the relationship, the struggle inherent in that development - rather than a fully formed relationship that is going through hard times. But this was an interesting enough installment. Also, we got to meet Molly who will have her own book and who shows up in the Montana Daddies series (Daddy's Lost Love).
Saving Savannah is the third story of this series, and deals with the trauma of abuse. Laylah Roberts managed to tell Savannah’s story with so much tenderness,so much compassion. Though still not a very long story,it shows the aftereffects of what happened to her at the end of Laken’s Surrender. And it shows how it affects her and her men,Max and Logan. They’d do anything for their sweet wife, but feel so helpless. When she finally finds an online psychologist, and starts making slow progress, other ugly things start happening. Throwing her off balance again. In the meantime, money is tight and repairs to the ranch are necessary, giving Max something more to worry about. Talking is key,as always. Because sharing trauma helps dealing with trauma, and sharing worries may help in finding solutions.
I have a feeling i’ll be seeing more of Savannah and her men. Because i’m not done with this series!
I really enjoyed this! I didn't read the previous books but everything that happened was well summarised and we could really focus on Savannah, Max and Logan. After something traumatic happened to Savannah, they have to work hard to get their relationship back to where it was and they all put a lot of effort into it. The men organise a therapist for Savannah to speak to and that was so well portrayed. There's a bit of ✨drama✨ at the end that ties up the story nicely.
This book is a continuation from the previous book, and deals with the psychological and emotional damage caused by being kidnapped and abused. As with my comments in my review of the previous book, I can't abide authors using abuse as a vehicle for a plotline. I understand that the storyline is also concentrating on the recovery and highlighting the strength of the female lead, but in this day and age of pushing forward equality and the education of the general public it strikes me that using abuse as a vehicle is not only counter productive in furthering womens basic right to safety, it's also a lazy effort from the author. Which I find a little insulting. The characterisation is okay, with individual personalities and motivators, but there is something missing, that elusive something that makes a character come alive on the page. That said, if you are a fan of the genre you would probably enjoy the book, however I would recommend reading the series from the beginning to obtain the best reading experience. There are some sex scenes, with a slight D/s theme, of MFM menage and some swearing. There are quite a few errors, missing words, odd words and some mixed tense but the book is quite readable and they don't detract from the storyline too much.
I thought I'd read this years earlier, but after reading it just now I realized I hadn't or if I had I don't remember it. H-m-m.... Anyway, the beginning of this story was missing lots of details and I felt as if I'd jumped into the middle so I skimmed most of the first half. I got the general drift but no details. It went from her broken down on the road to the three of them married. Huh?! It sounds like the guys had a whole nasty childhood that was barely touched on too. Because of that it took awhile for me to feel Savannah, Logan, and Max's connection. Oh and the brothers were supposed to be identical twins but it read as they were anything but. Once the crisis started I got more into it. Long story- short, LR did these three okay in the end and I'm glad I read it finally, despite the jump to already having her dog at the end with no info on how she met and accepted the dog. Too many missing details overall.
Now I know that the blurb clearly mentions that Savannah suffered a traumatic event & that her husbands struggle to help her. However, the book opened with a prologue with the 3 meeting & not getting on. Having not read the previous books, I thought that it would then take the reader through the courtship & into the marriage while somewhere along the line Savannah suffers from this event. That's not how it was. Start reading at chapter 1 & they've been married for a period of time (3 years I think) & Savannah is struggling to put her life back together. Having not read the previous books in the series, I feel cheated out of half of the story. Where's the courtship? Where's the event that led up to the struggle? All of that happened in the previous book/s. What I was left with was an interesting story with some great characters but overall I'm disappointed.
God, this story... Is a beautiful mfm love story about a marriage which is wounded. The way Laylah went through all the components of how a traumatic experience affects relationships and how stranious the lack of money can be and the impact it brings on the family ambience. On top of everything and before all, Savannah journey of healing and self rediscovery after a horrible traumatic experience during which she got kidnapped and got deeply hurt. Max and Logan don't even consider looking at her as tainted as she feels since touched by her abuser and Savannah soons learns that her men are still there, still wanting her, loving her, not despite what happened but even more so, because they see her fight and they see her winning herself back even before she does.
Note: To fully understand Savannah, first read #2. I didn't like #2 at all and wasn't going to read more by this author but then wanted to see what happened to Savannah. The characters continue in this series so probably best to read them in order. (I won't read Saxon's story.)
Well, what a pleasant surprise to find this was a good story. This has good character development, plot and dialogue. I like that all three have a POV. It's a heartfelt story about the trauma she is trying to recover from and how it affected Logan and Max too. I liked the realistic reactions and consequences to the problems they faced, nicely balanced with their love. Molly is her therapist after helping Laken recover. (Molly's story is #4.)
The 'danger' plot point was a continuation from #2 story. This is my favorite story in the series.
When we first meet Savannah and her men, they are already in a relationship, so this story felt more like a follow-up than a fresh romance. While we do get small glimpses into how they met and what brought them together, it didn’t feel like a fully developed story on its own.
Overall, this book felt more like filler for the series rather than a necessary addition. I didn’t love it, but I didn’t hate it either—hence the three-star rating. Honestly, I could have skipped this one without feeling like I missed anything important.
That said, I’m definitely ready for the next book, especially if it focuses on new characters we haven’t seen yet!
I really liked how this book dealt with some of the possible real life issue after a trauma, and just real life, within a marriage. It was certainly still a romance novel, with the faster paced recoveries, quick catching of bad men/women, and other miraculous HEA's (and that's what I like in most of my romance books), but it had more realistic reactions and consequences to life's problems mixed in with the super hot and loving stuff. Really enjoyed this and highly recommend, even if you haven't read the first 2 books in the series.
It isn't usual to start book in the middle of one story and have yet another story develop as a subplot. Roberts is the kind of skilled writer who can take on this difficult task. When the story begins we find out Susanne had been the victim of an abduction that already occurred. Her two yummy husbands are trying to deal with her PTSD. They also have other issues that plague them. Without giving out the plot this book is guaranteed to give you heart stopping, heart pulling, and heart filling satisfaction.
This one was an "Ok" for me, I did not dislike it, but I did not love it.
I did appreciate and enjoy showing how much of a battle recovery from trauma can be and how the person who went through the trauma is not the only one effected. You see Max and Logan struggle as well, wondering how to care for Savannah while also battling guilt for her being hurt in the first place.
I really felt for Savannah and I did find myself rooting for her. Max and Logan are also very human and they make mistakes, so you watch all three grow together.
A terapeuta e a Molly, HEA do próximo livro.
I can't imagine how amazing it would be to have 2, big strong men, to love, and always be there to provide safety, and always show how much they love her. Truly the stuff of dreams. Savanna and her men face 2 different threats against her, and against them as ranch owners. Lots of tension, and drama. They work together, and they finally get their long awaited HEA ending. Trish. Amazing romance story of strength and will to move forward and live. Savannah shows us the power of staying positive and the power of giving yourself time to recover. Author Laylah Roberts touches hard topic with a delicate hand, patience and so much understanding. She understands their struggles and she tells amazing steamy stories for us to love.
I’m just loving this Series!!! Laylah Roberts is an awesome author. This story was about Savannah, Max and Logan. They are living on their ranch when things really start to go south! This one has all the feels of Love, excitement, suspense and very steamy with an HEA! Just the way I like them! Can’t wait to read more! I think I’d like living in Haven!♥️♥️
If you learn nothing else from this book, it's a closed mouth didn't get fed😏😈. Savannah, Max and Logan have a fiery relationship from the start. A tragic event puts stress on the relationship and communication (be it though words, a spanking or orgasm) is the key to rebuilding their connection. It's a fantastic read!
Big, bossy, controlling men who have to learn to open up.
Savannah has been traumatized and her men are treating her like they use to. Kid gloves aren't helping her deal with the anxiety. And when someone comes after her for revenge all Hell breaks loose.
Max and Logan save Savannah when they find her on the side if the road with a flat tire .... fast forward a couple of years and she's having panic attacks after her kidnapping - will they get over the hurtles they all face.
What a great continuation of the series I really loved this book and the first one the best so far maybe I’m just a sucker for multiple men who knows because all three books are great 😍🌸
This was another wonderfully written romance about the struggles of a family dealing with troubles. Feeling insurmountable. Only to find strength in each other, and community!!!
Savannah meets Max and Logan when she has a flat tire. We soon jump ahead and are in the middle of a couple mysteries!. Can they survive all that is going on? This was so great.
I can't imagine being so afraid of leaving the house. Savannah's fears are entirely justified and I am glad that she was able, through support and guidance, learn to live with what happened and her reaction to it.
Logan and Max are stumbling through trying to give Savannah the time and space she needs to heal from the trauma she experienced. When they realize she's only getting worse they change their approach but will it be enough or will they need help?
Wow! What a story! You can feel the love and caring both Max and Logan have for Savannah. The fear she has is overwhelming and not everyone would be able to overcome it.
Wow loved this book. Savi made it. She is a hero. She gets past her fear. And her guys stay by her side through it all. She hit the Jack pot with the brother's.
