In the epic conclusion of the MageLord trilogy, Bjorn, once a simple hunter, finds himself transformed into a feared MageLord and calls on his powerful magic to save himself from his foes by transporting himself into the distant past, where he can sow the seeds to transform the future. Original.
Thomas K. Martin was born in a small mining town in the Cumberland Gap region of Kentucky near the West Virginia and Tennessee borders. His father served in the U.S. Air Force, and the family moved frequently when Martin was a child. Martin came to Texas with his parents in 1974 and has lived in and around Dallas / Ft. Worth ever since.
Martin published his first novel, A Two-Edged Sword (the first book of The Delgroth Trilogy), through Ace/Berkley in December 1993. He completed a second series, The Magelord Trilogy, in 1999.
Apart from writing, Martin also works as a computer programmer, creates his own chain mail and serves as a member of The Artemis Society of Dallas. He lives near Dallas with his wife, Mary, and four of their five children.
Easily the best of the MageLord trilogy. A clever premise that brings the story full circle (provided you don't think about it too hard). Martin clearly had his story arc planned from the start; it's a shame that the other books weren't quite this good and that Martin fell off the face of the earth after the publication of The House of Bairn.
Sigh. Time travel. Although I found it interesting to learn about the beginnings of the House of Bairn, I found the time traveling aspects to be slightly clunky.

Bjorn gets transported back in time to when the MageLords still ruled the earth.
I really love this one, because I like feel-good stories where things go right for the protagonist, and he becomes a power to be reckoned with. The magic in this one is marvelous and powerful.
This is my favorite fantasy book that I have ever read. It is such a different take on magic, and I love how it brings the series full circle. It really is a shame Mr. Martin hasn't published anything since. Grab the whole series.
