After catching her boyfriend cheating with the skinny little tart across the hallway, Terra was ready to give up both beef and cake, once and for all. That is, until Mason Stone enters her bakery and sweeps her off of her feet. Unfortunately, she's been jilted one too many times, and the fact that Mason is the lead guitarist for a popular rock band just complicates things… especially when she sees the type of groupies they attract. Will the sparks they’ve ignited last, or will her own insecurities end their relationship before it even begins?
Candi Heart writes funny, sassy, and swoon-worthy romance that will leave you with a smile on your face and a sigh on your lips. She knows big, beautiful girls need love too, and enjoys writing about them finding their happily-ever-afters with sexy alphas from all walks of life.
I like the book only thing i disliked was the whole "losing weight" stuff in this one also i think all of these books have something to do with the weight thing.. which i dislike..for many reasons.. but atleast Terra owned her curves most of the book.
Mason was so much better!! I enjoyed him he was such a great guy, a rockstar who is getting tired of the rockstar life and everything that comes with it also he has a stalker problem, he meets Terra at her bakery and he's already drawn to her, but everytime he tries to see her again she's busy until he spots her at a pre-party of his band. Wanting to see if she was into him for him he did a small test to see if she was a groupie.. and boy did she let him have it. Their relationship has ups and tiny downs.
No ow/om drama mentions the ex's, No cheating, drama, secondary charas, sexy times, no virgins

Well, I wish they talked more about Zondra. Girlie literally died for a plot device. All we know about her is this: - she's Mason's ex and one of his now good friends - she's beautiful and talented - she's super depressed BC her husband doesn't love her anymore - her husband murdered her BC he thought she was cheating on him with Mason
Like, I really wish they talked a bit more about her murder lol. They discuss a bit about how Mason and Terra almost got murdered by the husband too, but what about the ones who are dead 😭 idk chief, I think her death woulda been traumatic to me if I were Mason and was the last one who saw her alive before her husband got to her LMAO I'm surprised he quit the band AFTER they got married because I woulda thought this brush with death woulda been enough to quit IMMEDIATELY
Anyway I'm giving this 3 stars BC I wish I saw more Zondra, she seemed sweet and woulda been a kickass friend !!!!!!

This isn't the first book in the series, but I'm so glad I started with Terra and Mason. I was worried with the stalker lurking about. Laughed my butt off through all the comedy. Most of all I fell in love with Terra and Mason searching and finding each other. They are so deserving of love.
Interesting and intriguing characters that are pretty darn real with situations that would make a tough girl cry. Terra doesn't stand for infidelity and someone is going to get a swift kick in the pants. Just not Mason. 😁
Terra, the owner of Sweet Treats bakery, is planning a surprise birthday dinner for her boyfriend, Sonny. Instead, she surprises him when she stops home midday to change and walks in on him and their neighbor, Anna. Six months and fifteen pounds after kicking him out, her best friend Celine talks Terra into going to a concert with her for her birthday with a group of friends, starring "The Most Sexiest Man in Hollywood," Mason Stone, as a way to get Terra out of her funk.
Mason Stone has had it with the trappings of a rock star - the extra security, the groupies, the random stalker. He has perfected the art of sneaking out of his hotel in disguise, and having a few minutes of freedom. By chance, he stops into Sweet Treats just as Terra is leaving to get ready for his concert. While her coworker Cindy comments on his likeness to the rock star, his attraction to Terra catches him by surprise. They literally bump into each other at the pre-party for the concert, when Terra realizes who he really is. When he invites her group to the private after-party, he decides to test Terra to see if she's genuine or just another groupie by inviting her back to his room, while she sees him as another jack@$$ who figures because she's not stick-thin, she'll be happy to sleep with anyone. When she calls him on it, Mason realizes he's really intrigued with her because she's not like all the others.
I gave Mason credit for not trying to change Terra, and trying to make her see her own beauty. Terra has a hard time believing Mason's sincerity, given her insecurities about her size after years of fat-shaming, but he proves to her that she's worth it. A solid read.
We have a stunning plus size bakery owner who catches her fiancé, who is still going through a divorce screwing their housekeeper. Almost sounds like a storyline on an ‘80’s nighttime soap. But wait, there’s more. Hot rockstar returns to his hometown to do a show and wanders into her bakery and is immediately intrigued by this woman and her baked goods. He suggest she put cream in her long johns. (Not a euphemism. He says it). He denies that he is hot rockstar when asked by other employee of bakery and leaves abruptly after a text. Bakery owners friends have concert tickets to hot rockstars show and imagine her surprise when the man from the bakery is hot rock star. There is a lot of miscommunication, some weird word choices, a stalker, a dad with amnesia, and then an HEA. Did I mention it sounded like an ‘80’s nighttime soap? It was not a terrible story but it felt like a bunch of elements were all thrown together and stitched into a story. The dad storyline was odd. Her staying in the building where her ex and the housekeeper still live was odd (why would she talk to them?).
3.5 stars for Sweet Treats by Callie Heart. This is book five in the Curvy Hips and Sexy Lips Series. “Our Lives were never meant to be easy,” my mother said. “WE each have our own obstacle courses to overcome. From the moment we take our first breath, our journey begins.” Terra is a curvy woman who just caught her fiancé with the skinny tart neighbor. Now her self-confidence is down the drain. Mason is a rock god and is looking for a real woman. He met Terra and had an instant attraction to her, but he lies about who he is. Then Terra is heading to a pre-concert party with her friends and she bumps into Mason. Now she knows who he really is, and she thinks he could never be into someone like her. These two both have trust issues; can they get passed them and be together. This book felt real to me, and it dealt with real issues of self-confidence. I enjoyed this story and look forward to picking up the rest of the series.
Sweet Treats was a quick read and had a lot going on. Terra is the owner of the bakery Sweet Treats and there was a lot of sugary goodness throughout. Mason is part of a world famous band and sneaks away whenever he can without his bodyguards in attendance even though there's a stalker on the loose. When he and Terra meet at her bakery he doesn't tell her who he really is but there's still an attraction. When they meet up at one of his concerts there are definitely sparks but he's testing her. The story is told by Terra or Mason in alternating sections and chapters.
There was a nice love story and they seemed good for each other. He fit in her world but will she fit in his? There are multiple story lines going on with some being tragic and dark. She has a good support system with family and friends, but does he? There was a surprisingly depicted happily ever after that takes place two years later.
Ms. Heart is a new to me author. I may give another of her books a try.
Terra thought she found the love of her life only to find out he was cheating on her with the girl across the hall. Terra has decided she is done, she will focus on her bakery and enjoy life by herself. When she meets Mason Stone she doesn't realize he is a rock star whose concert she will be attending. Terra though figures a man as stunning as Mason would not be interested in a woman with her curves.
Mason is intrigued by Terra. He has kept his identity quiet because he is looking for more then a groupie hook up. When he finds out Terra is going to the concert, he decides he wants to see where it will lead and Terra continues to surprise him at every turn.
I really enjoyed this one. I thought the chemistry was wonderful between Mason and Terra and they start as a friendship building into something. This story had two of my favorite types of characters-baker/rock stars. I also liked that Mason was not overly cocky and was more down to earth. Great read.
I wish there was a little more to the cheating boyfriend thing. Like having mason thrown in his face as a “I did better than you” and maybe even seeing the cheating couple green with envy. I mean for as many times as terra ran into sonny and Anna in their building never once does mason cross paths? Makes no sense to me. I also wish terra found more beauty in herself. I understand as women(I’m plus sized) we compare ourselves to everybody and find us lacking. But I wish there was that little bit of fire that tells her in the back of her mind you know what I can eat the burger! You know what I’m chunky and I love it! Something like that....idk just some ramblings of things that bugged me. Other than that great story! I didn’t like the bakery chick, I’m spacing on her name I think it was Cindy. She came off as a friend then when mason was involved her demeanor changed. Kinda wanted her to be fired, but that’s me being petty!
This was free on Amazon, and I want to read more stories about plus sized (fat, curvy, what-have-you) protags. I've read a couple of other books that are very similar from other authors, and it seems like this is a popular trope for 'bbw' books. Fat (but not too fat!) heroine is underappreciated by her boyfriend, catches him cheating, meets new (alpha, usually) guy who really sees her and LOVES her curves (to the point of seeming fetish-y at times), and after feeling unsure why such a hunk would like her, the main character is finally convinced, happily ever after, the end.
There might be a twist or a very slight turn, but that's the gist of it.
I'm not trying to dump on these books, but I'm learning that they're really not for me.
There was a lot of cutesy lovey stuff but not a lot of substance. The "drama" part felt a little forced into the story with the stalker. It seemed like filler to add a different aspect to the story and it didn't fit really well. Mason was a little too basic to me for a supposed "alpha". I liked Terra but felt the story between her and Mason could have used a bit more depth. I did enjoy the bigger girl getting the hottie, just would have preferred it wasn't so simple as insta-love. As I said, it was a good story, not a great one.
Terra is a full figured woman who has a confidence problem. She is a professional baker and has her own shop. She has friends and family but is lonely. Mason Stone is the lead singer for a rock band. He is getting tired of touring. He also is looking forward to trying to find time to play the music he writes. One day he sneaks away from his security and wanders into Sweet Treats. From the moment he sees Terra, his world shifts. He needs her to be part of his world and she's not sure. I love Mason. He only sees how beautiful she is.
This book had me wanting to cry when Terra had her heart broken by her jerk of a fiancé who thought it was ok to sink his p in another woman Terra didn’t deserve that I wanted to throw something at him that’s how involved this book got me !!! When she met Mason I thought oh great not another one but then he was a prince instead of a frog sometimes you have to kiss a few frogs to get your prince great book !!!! I recommend if a big girl like me read this book !!!!! Great book Candi
I received this books as an ARC. This was my first book by this author and I have to say that I absolutely loved everything about this book. The hero and the heroine were so funny and witty but still serious when the time came. Even the supporting characters were just as funny. I laughed more times than I could count. Where I loved the two main characters I loved the crazy aunt. I would recommend this book to everyone. Honestly who wants normal characters when you can have some weird one.
A sweet story that hits the spot! Couldn’t put it down once I started it! Full of fun, surprises, and awesome characters! From a hot singer, crazy stalker, wild band mates, and a big beautiful baker, great friends, and a wonderful wacky family! Recovering from a cheating ex, meeting a hot new man, falling in love, finding new love, and trusting each other! An awesome story that makes you feel good! Loved it!
Her big cheated on her and it really hurt her,he's a rock star that wants to be normal. He comes into her bakery and he's star struck by her. She goes to his concert and he sees her at the pre party and they end up hooking up and they talk and hang out. His stalker kidnaps her when she comes to ny and they save each other. I love stories about full figure women thank you and I want to read more about them....
Rockstar goes undercover to a bakery to get donuts. He meets the owner (Terra). Their adventures begin. Mason is the rockstar who is at a stage where he is not really satisfied with the star life. He meets Terra and is hooked. They meet again at his concert. They have all sorts of excitement throughout this book. It is a cute, crazy book with surprises throughout. Love this book.
Terra accidentally discovered her finance with her neighbor when she came home from work unexpectedly. After breaking up with him she turned to working full time at her bakery harder than ever. Mason came into the bakery looking for something sweet. He took one look at Terra and it was love. Then their adventure began. I don’t do spoilers so I will say the author did a great job with the story. Enjoy.
Loved this book! It was great to read a story with a bbw and an actual romance story. I have been disappointed before by stories that center too much on the weight or sex with a bigger woman and no story! This was moving. It had some suspense and intrigue with loveable characters and a good story.
As a BBW myself I totally understand the insecurities of size and trying to find someone to love you for who you are. That there are men like Mason who is attracted by not only what someone looks like but getting to know who there are made this a story I really could relate to!! Highly recommended.
Haven't read anything by this author but fancied a change and gave it a go. It was not bad at all, quite enjoyed it. Definitely liked the change up in heroine, very far from being the perfect sized woman, she had plenty of curves and felt more realistic. Would definitely look into more in the series and by this author.
I have to say first that I love this story. This was a sweet story about a BBW woman in her early 20's going through the moments of life with a cheater and working through that and girlfriends rallying her get her out again and meeting a singer. The characters were great and storyline was great match. Would recommend to be read by all
Fun ...funny..snarky...loved it!! Was a awesome afternoon read!!! But it read it!!!!you will love if!! I love the author..for writing big beautiful women. We all find love also!
Good story where overall quality of writing was the same. A few glitches in proofreading, no cheating or cliffhanger and you get a happy ending. Intimacy scenes weren't over the top and you get a mix of Baker meets rock star meets psycho. Definitely a mix.
Really enjoyed this and it had me cracking up at times. I do recommend reading i and can't wait to read the others in the Curvy Hips and Sexy Lips series. Oh and it is a standalone with a HEA
I enjoy this book. There were some things that bothered me, like the diet thing, but overall this was a great story. Mason made me laugh, I cried, there was suspense. It had it all. Mason is a great book boyfriend!! I loved him and Terra together.
