Savannah Rae Preston finally has her life back on track after it takes a turn in an unplanned direction. The day she accepts the job at the Still Water Pub, her newly organized and controlled life gets complicated.
One wild night almost two years ago, changed Savannah Rae’s life in ways she could never imagine. She was living in the moment when she had her weekend fling with three totally alpha Navy Seals. It was completely out of character but she never figured she would see Bas, Austin and Finn again.
What happens when Savannah Rae finds out that the silent owners of the Still Water Pub are the three men from that one weekend two years ago? Can she accept that Bas, Austin and Finn want a relationship with her – all of them together? Will the guys forgive her for the secret she has been hiding since their steamy fling?
Savannah Rae can’t deny that the attraction is still strong but there are two problems – what the trio is proposing is unconventional and there is Mac.
I first read this story in the Falling For Them Anthology. I really, really liked the plot concept of this reverse harem, which is a length somewhere between a novella and a full book. I won't spoil it for those people still to read it because some of the things I liked the most were even better because they were surprises for me. Unfortunately, I wasn’t a fan of the execution for multiple reasons, including that there is a great deal of telling rather than showing and both the characters and relationship(s) lacked development, resulting in me not feeling their connection. Throughout the story a little more depth was needed to make this great idea flourish.
3.75 Stars I really liked this book. It was quick and light. Sometimes, I just need a cute and easy book to read and this story definitely fit the bill. I had a lot of fun while reading this. I just wish that it could have been longer and some details flushed out more. I would definitely have read this if it would have been a full length book. While it wasn't completely original and there were some cliché plot lines, I still really enjoyed this book. I really liked the characters and I would have liked to spend more time with them. There were a few lines in it that made me cringe, but overall, it was worth the read.
After meeting 3 navy SEALS for a weekend and falling in love, Savannah had to say goodbye. 2 years later, Savannah still thinks about her guys while taking care of Mac, and juggling her new job with 4 amazing new guy friends. When her guys come back into her life, things are bound to get complicated. Will Savannah have to choose? What will the guys think when they learn her secret?
I love this book. It actually showed that a realistic reverse harem. Savannah actually had to think about it and the consequences. Instead of just jumping into it, thinking it’s not different, like most books are. Bas, Austin, and Finn were awesome. They took care of Savannah and Mac. But Copper, Beck, Jackson, and Chris were my favorites. (Even though they were just friends) They were funny and helped out with Mac. I loved the atmosphere of their relationship with Savannah. That ending! Hope there is a second book. :)
Love love love this story! Read it once in an anthology and had to read it again when it was released on its own. I love the interactions between everyone and cannot wait to see what happens with her bestie!
The idea of the story was really good but I felt execution was really lacking. I mean absolutely no smexy scenes at all. I hoped to see that when they met but then it went fade to black.
Also their relationship was half of the book missing because they were not in it. I honestly felt at some point she should have ended up with the four bar owners who were present and she formed a tight relationship with them. Her daughter's fathers- had no idea who they were, what they liked and didn't like but I knew a lot about the four bar owners.
Ever since I discovered the world of the reverse harem, I’ve wished for one of my own. Call me greedy (I’d totally agree with you), but why should I have to choose? If all the men involved wants me and I want them all, AND they’re cool with sharing (that part’s crucial) then I see no reason to choose! F@#$ what society says. I’m not hurting anyone and we’re all happy.
Alas, (le sigh) it is all wishful thinking at the moment. But until then, I’ll continue to enjoy this FANTASTIC sub-genre. This book gave me a good answer to a question I’d been wondering about regarding how they would go about legally marrying. It makes it seem so much more attainable now! (Lol)
Anywho, the only thing I had a bit of an issue with was how formal sounding some of the things the characters said were. However, after reading that this was a debut novel, I can cut the author some slack.
I wish Amazon had a fraction point star rating (you know 1/4, 1/2, 3/4... ARE YOU LISTENING AMAZON???). Then I could have given the 4.5 star rating like I wanted.
Sweet, Sweet Savannah will show you a trio of love
This wonderful debut from Ms. Nighbor and will show you how Savannah will take three Navy SEALs and learn to love each of them as much as they love her. She meets them while out for a night of fun in Seattle and the offers to take them sightseeing. But they'll need to return to their base for deployment after teaching Savannah what love could be like with three lovers.
Fast forward a month and she finds out they've given her a parting gift. Can she juggle college, her job and a toddler? When she learns that Still Water Pub silent owners are Bass, Finn and Austin and that the four men Cooper, Beck, Chris and Jackson have become the family that she doesn't have. Will she or leave? First she'll have to tell the men that she kept may be the hardest thing to do but when they offer themselves as a package can Savannah say yes?
This is my first time reading a Reverse Harem book and will not be the last my hope is that Brittany and even Jenna will eventually get their own stories. I wholeheartedly give Sweet, Sweet Savannah 5 fantastic stars.
I enjoyed Sweet Sweet Savannah, and as the name suggests it was exactly that; a sweet little read. I’m not going to go into details of what the book is about - there’s a blurb for that - and I’m going to keep this review short and near just like the book.
I enjoyed reading about Savannah, her daughter and the many guys in her life. There was a lot of showing rather than telling but it suited the story and the way it was written. The brief flashbacks to the weekend when Savannah first met the guys worked well in this story to provide us with a sense of what went on during that weekend and the bond formed between them all.
Lots of kissing, a few grammatical errors (nothing major), and maybe a little bit of a too spoilt young girl - I would seriously worry about her when she got older - and this sweet short romance is one that I enjoyed enough to give four stars but I probably won’t be rereading it again.
Oh, and there’s two steamy scenes for those who were wondering.
Spoiler alert! * * * * * * After a weekend with three hot guys results in an unplanned pregnancy, Savannah's parents abandon her. Her best friend and her mother steps in and helps Savannah and Mac out. Savannah ends up getting a job at the Stillwater Pub, becoming best friends with the guys who run it. What she doesn't know is those three hot guys who she spends the weekend with, Bas, Austin and Finn, are also owners of the pub. After running into them, during family night at the pub, she finds out where they've been and they found out they have a daughter. They get everything worked out and become a happy family. I loved this book because it's amazing. The story is well told and the characters become very real to you. I recommend this book to anyone who comes across it.
I first read this story within the Falling For Them Vol. 2 anthology and enjoyed it. I liked the expanded story even more. Savannah is a likable character with a definite independent vibe, I mean hello, blue hair, The story follows her newly created life with a job and family but flashes back to a wild lusty weekend with three navy seals on leave before their deployment and her resuming classes at college. I particularly liked the strong feeling that family is who we choose not necessarily blood. The secondary characters of her family and bosses at the bar were just as interesting to me as the main characters, so that leaves the door wide open for more to come. The story isn't that long so it can be a fun afternoon read to her your RH HEA.
I tried, I really did and I really wanted to love this book but I just couldn’t do it. The premise is great and I love the idea for the story, it just wasn’t flushed out enough. I want to see the connections between the characters and the building of those bonds instead of being told about it. The author did a lot of telling in the story instead of letting us see it play out on the page. The dialogue was a little bit cheesy at times as well. We are aware of the name of the heroine you don’t have to say it in every sentence when she is addressed. It’s still a good story it was just really hard to get into and I think with a little bit more time and energy spent on this book it could’ve been great.
This was a wonderful story about being true to yourself and that love be it as a family and friends or romantic comes in many different forms. Here we meet Savannah after leaving her mothers house due to the negativity she get from her parents. On her way back home she meets these three men and they hit it off and have a wonderful weekend. Try as she might the men are deployed before she can reach them and life continues. As time goes she makes new friends and family and it is these new friends and family. Through these friends she is bable to make her way back to the men who clained her heart in a single weekend. I love this story as it plucked my heartstrings and was a wonderful book.
I really loved this contemporary Reverse Harem story, which i admit reading paranormal reverse harem easier to read somehow. But this was fantastic and different. Usually I'm not the biggest fan of flashbacks but it suited this story perfectly and i found it unique because it has the lost love element, it has a young mother and a child AND its Reverse Harem. And i haven't come across much of it with a child involved, and done well! And Savannah perfectly captures a loving single mum who's working hard for her little girl. I've never been so happy to see the guy or guys step back into a girls life! And those military men sure seem yummy I can see how she couldn't resist!
I first read Sweet, Sweet Savannah as part of the Falling For Them anthology. The story has been revised with this new release and I think HL made some great improvements. The original release felt rushed, but with this revision we got to see a lot of new, sweet scenes that went a long way toward developing the relationships and the characters more naturally. The story is a fairly typical, easy-read RH with an HEA. It's cute and enjoyable if not a little predictable. Not a bad way to spend an afternoon.
I thought I wouldn’t like it too much because it didn’t have a supernatural theme. I know that’s wrong but we all got our things anyway. I loved this book it was sweet and nice and fluffy, but it left me wanting more. I hope the author does do more since she claimed this was her first book and it was a very well done first book. I’m keeping an eye on her, so if you’re looking for something soft and sweet after too many devastating books or angst books about your favorite heroin and her guys well this one is a perfect pick me up. To get you back up again!!
This was an amazing read. I was leary and kind of intrigued at first. I wasn't sure what to expect. Part of me expected debauchery and scenes i wasn't sure about, but I WAS SOOO WRONG!!!
This story is about a young woman who connects with 3 friends and it progresses from there. It had the perfect amount of story to romance. The story wasn't solely about the sexual aspect, it was about love, friendship, and commitment. I'm so glad I read this book.
I loved this sweet story about life turning out the way it's supposed to....if you're lucky. After a weekend of just living in the moment two years ago results in a life changing event, Savannah is making the best of life. She has a lot on her plate with school, work and home but she's making it work. This woman has a great support system with her friends and bosses. But she's in for the surprise of her life with the three silent partners show up. Will Savannah get her HEA?
This book was not my cup of tea. I got through 60% and gave up feeling like I read a whole lot of nothing. There wasn’t one exciting part in this book. I feel like the author skipped over all the exciting parts. When Savahanna meets the 3 guys they have like a two minute conversation and then decide on a whim to spend the weekend together. But we don’t read anything about it! Then we fast forward over the next (2 1/2?) years and they somehow meet again and pick up like nothing happened. But it was boring as hell. Absolutely no details.
Low angst read and fairly predictable read. Savannah hooks up with three guys on leave then reconnects several years later. They all easily worked out their drama. The timeline throughout the story didn’t seem to stay true - the time apart, the time lapses between events… felt like she was at semester break, doesn’t take summer classes then says they’ve been together for months and then it’s summer again. Writing style was ok but every time Savannah laughed she had tears streaming down her face. Every time?
The idea of the story was really good but I felt execution was really lacking. I mean absolutely no smexy scenes at all. I hoped to see that when they met but then it went fade to black.
Also their relationship was half of the book missing because they were not in it. I honestly felt at some point she should have ended up with the four bar owners who were present and she formed a tight relationship with them. Her daughter's fathers- had no idea who they were, what they liked and didn't like but I knew a lot about the four bar owners.
This is a cute little RH story that I first read in one of the Falling For Them Anthologies. The flow of the story goes between present and past events which is a nice way to share the information with you. I like that there was a child involved in this story as it gives you another dynamic to contend with that I haven't seen in any of the other RH stories I have read. The characters are good, the storyline was decent and overall the book is a nice way to spend an afternoon in my opinion!
This is a nice story to read, first released in one of the Falling for Them anothologies. The characters are interesting, there is a child involved, and it's a nice way to spend a couple of hours. There were some bumps with the plot, but for a story like this, the plot made sense and fit with the constraints put on the author. I liked the way she weaved the past and the present, and I'm usually not a fan of flashback.
Please take note when looking at this book that it is a light RH romance, you're not going to get an epic plot, character development or super steamy sex scenes.
So what do you get? A safe, feel-good story that doesn't have any drama.
This is the kind of book you want to escape into after a bad day. It's short, super sweet and well worth getting if you want a short escape from life. I think the author did a fantastic job with the book.
It was okay. I skimmed through he has 30% of the book. I wish we could have gotten to know the men better. We don’t ever get any one on one time with them with Savannah it’s all three all the time. That makes the story kind of one sided. Also, if you want a fluff book this is it nothing but good times even when bad things happen. They are just wiped away. More depth would have been great.
HL Nighbor is a new author who I was lucky enough to find in the Falling For Them vol 2 anthology. Sweet, Sweet Savannah was one of my favorites among all the others in the book. It's a sweet reverse harem story about a girl finding her way back to a few guys she had a one night stand with. The ending was wrapped up nicely with a happily ever after and left me satisfied.
I loved this book when I first read it in the falling for them anthology. I love how strong willed she is, and how out spoken at times. I love loved loved Savannah. I wasn't sure at first which set of guys I wanted the most. My heart broke for Savannah, how she was beaten down about her lifestyle, her tattoos, her weight. I was glad the guys were more focused on building her up. Loved them!
I really like this story I read in one falling for them book I really hope there is 2nd one since the story has been released, I always love when the ugly duckling type gets the good looking guys all 3 them and how they want to stay with her even with her child a one of them was the father but they all want to help raise her ,
This is a sweet start for a new author! With wonderful characters and an interesting intro for the RH concept, this story is a classic with a bit of spice! Life is too short for regrets! Small world as the past and the present collide. I am hoping to see what else is in store for these characters. Well done!
