William Voltz was the pen name of German science fiction author Wilhelm Karl Voltz.

He was a member of the 'Perry Rhodan' writing team since 1962 and served as a longtime head writer for the series. He is considered a major - and lasting - influence on the character of the franchise.

Other pseudonyms include Detlef Kaufmann und Ralph Steven.

Я человек простой — вижу, что автор романа Уильям Вольтц, то сразу начинаю получать удовольствие. Этот роман примечателен ещё тем, что тут первые проявил себя "Вольтцизм" — приём УиВо, целью которого является под конец романа убить персонажа, которому всю историю ты симпатизировал. Главного героя действительно жаль, но нет, это никакой не спойлер, на первых же страницах автор даёт знать, что дни паренька уже сочтены. Роман очень легко читается и не сильно богат на события, однако то, что происходит очень классно развивает текущий конфликт.

From data recovered by the Copenhagen, the planet Gatas in the Verth system is discovered. It is an overcrowded world. The great fertility of the Blues is the reason for their thirst for expansion. In the first days of June 2327 the Tristan secretly lands on the fourteenth planet of the Verth System, a frozen world. The vessel hides itself in the layer of ice. It is in contact by transmitter with the station ESS-1, a Terran base in the Lysso System. When the Tristan is discovered by the Blues, the crew flees by transmitter. Forty-nine men, among them the commander Mos Hakru and the specialist of the USO Melbar Kasom, remain and are captured by the Blues. Lieutenant Don Kilmacthomas is the only one to remain free and sacrifices himself in order to inform the station on the fate of the prisoners.

Zeer dramatisch verhaal - wat je al van bij het begin verneemt zodat je je als lezer op de actie en de heldendaden kan concentreren en niet moet denken of het wel goed zal aflopen - niet dus.
Er worden weer enkele stukjes aan de puzzel toegevoegd zodat de kansen van de Terranen stijgen maar tegen een enorme prijs. Toch nog een soort van open einde dat vraagt om een vervolg - en dat ook krijgt in het volgende nummer.

Outro ótimo livro escrito por William Voltz ainda que os personagens não tenham me pego tanto, sua conclusão é inesperada e os alienígenas inimigos do Segundo Império apresentados aqui são uma ameaça tão temível quanto os monstros indestrutíveis de outrora.

Além disso sua condução é ótima e para quem goste da ação acredito que é o que melhor dê para indicar para quem queira começar a ler os livros da série, apesar de não ser o meu preferido.
