This man has killed several prison sentries and looks like he could easily snap his steel shackles. It’s rumored he can shift into an immense wolf.
That doesn't worry Natasha, though. She doesn’t believe in wolf-shifters.
If he tries to break free from his shackles, she’ll be ready. Highly trained in hand-to-hand combat, she can bring a man to his knees. A gun strapped to her side offers more protection on what should be a quick flight to the penal colony.
Natasha has another mission, a secret mission, to find her missing sister who vanished on a trip to the prison colony. Delivering the dangerous prisoner will give her a chance to search for her twin.
Ragnar Helmsgaard seeks his fated mate.
The tiny female at the ship's controls is part of the Maiden class of Andromedins. Natasha’s courage amuses Ragnar almost as much as her scent tempts him. He might even feel a shred of pity for the girl in the drab pilot’s uniform.
The girl who thinks she’ll take him to Pendleton.
The girl who awakens his inner wolf.
***** Standalone Novel, No Cliffhanger, Happily Ever After ***** ***** Safe Read, No Cheating, Some Strong Language *****
Ragnar is a wolf shifter living on the planet Jaegarian. He's a prince among his people and very powerful. Ragnar believes his wolf directed him to the planet Andromeda to find his mate. While he's there, he enters the Blood Games. When he wins but is not allowed to take the purse, he attacks causing him to go to prison.
Natasha is a maiden on Andromeda. As a women on Andromeda, you are either a Nymph or a Maiden. Nymph's are the ones that get married and provide children. Maidens do not get married and are assigned jobs on their planet. Natasha has been assigned to be a fighter pilot. As part of her job, Natasha must transport the prisoners. What Natasha doesn't know is that her own kind is conspiring against her and she will need Ragnar to save her.
This one might be more a me thing. I love this author and I think she does a fabulous job of drawing me into the worlds she creates and she did do that with Ragnar and Natasha. I think I was just looking for a bit more heat between the couple.
This is a slow burn, safe, low angst read with no cheating and a HEA. The author sets the book up nicely to segue into the second book in the series. ARC provided by Author.
Natasha is a pilot, an Andromedin Maiden, trained to take a man down with just a quick pinch of her fingers. She is trying to find her sister when she’s assigned to transport Ragnar Helmsgaard to the penal colony for killing four sentries. If there is any fear or weakness in her, she’ll never allow this rumored wolf shifter to see it.
Ragnar is immediately drawn to the scent of the small woman who will be piloting him off this planet. He’s bidding his time until the right moment when he will take over the aircraft and return home to Jaegar. His wolf is acting peculiarly as Ragnar begins to notice a change in the feisty girl. Natasha is a strong, independent heroine who is in for a few surprises as she comes to terms with the fact that Ragnar is her fated mate. Ragnar is a great alpha hero. Immediately protective and possessive, even jealous of other men seeing his woman in revealing clothing. He was everything I like in my heroes.
I don’t want to give too much away about this unique storyline but it was so engaging and entertaining, I didn’t want it to ever end. I was a bit disappointed in the epilogue as it was setting up the next couple, which is alright, but I wanted to get more of Ragnar. I can’t wait for the next in this series!
This was such a good story! It’s sci-fi but also shifters and fated mates. The hero is a wolf shifter who has been imprisoned by the heroines people and she has been assigned to transport him to the penal colony.
Only things don’t go according to plan. Her ship goes down onto a hostile planet and it’s up to him to keep her alive.
Totally safe. Double virgins. No others, no abuse or cheating. HEA with epilogue.
Ragnar Loved these two. Found them so damn amusing, funny as hell. Natasha is a Maiden on her planet, which means she’s trained for battle, Ragnar is a Royal wolf shifter. He was so arrogant, but in a highly entertaining and charming way. Adored him, but Natasha gave it right back to him. He’s on her planet for some battle games, he wins but they don’t award him his money since he’s a wolf shifter. This sends him into a rage, he loses control and is sentenced to their prison. Natasha is the maiden in charge of taking him there. During their flight, he bends his prison bars to get things and then bends them back...so damn funny, all without her knowing...he couldn’t escaped whenever he wanted to. They get shot down and he protects them until his brother Gunnar can come for them. I loved this book, my favorite of Sasha Gold’s books...but I am a sci-fi junkie. It was a funny, safe read with an epilogue and I can’t wait for his brother Gunnar’s book...those two are really damned funny.
Kept By The Billionaire Loved it too. Rebecca is an intern accountant sent to a billionaire’s, Will’s, house to work on a project for her firm, but Will thinks she’s the mail-order bride he wanted. I think you can see how this will go. When they finally figure out who she really is....he knows he wants to keep her. Sweet, safe book with epilogues.
The Virgin’s Tale Love this series. They are always naughty, sweet & safe.
1.5 stars. This was just ok. There was too many elements in this story that weren't sufficiently developed. There wasn't much character development, so most of this story was a bit boring. The fantasy aspect of this was also light and left too much unexplained. The attitude that the H had toward women ("a comely female would be good enough to make his mate but a homely one would only serve as a maid") was disturbing to say the least. Overall, I wouldn't really recommend this to anyone who likes fantasy that makes sense. If you're looking for a sweet, alien/shifter romance that features , this might be for you.
I really like this world. I hope the author gets around to writing the other two brothers stories. Especially after just leaving us hanging with Elise and Gunner.
Where shall I start.I was a bit afraid when the author announced a sci-fi book, have to admit I'm not much of a dystopian fan,but I was wrong, how wrong was I.The story starts with our heroine Natasha,a maiden andromedian being given the mission to transport a convict to Pendleton,a prison in a penal colony, only he is not just a simple prisoner,he is a dangerous criminal from Jaegar,a planet with descendents from the vikings, but he is also a prince.Yep, heard that right,a prince, charming I might say,for he is traying to charm our heroine several times from her clothing *wink wink*.The hero,Ragnar(I so love the name),might have killed several people, but that doesn't mean he's going to prison, especially when it was self-defense and not by the tiny maiden, who he would rather protect and steal away, than see as his jailer. The love story between them starts as a slow burn and we get to see the characters developing feelings for each other. She always creates strong heroines and alpha males, but this time,we have a slip of a girl who is strong and knows her mind, even if she is set in her ways, she sees when she is wrong.Ragnar, well, you can say he's determined,to get home,to get the girl,to make a few jabs that earn him some glares from the heroine. What I liked most about the book is that the author takes time to describe the world in which the story takes place and as a reader you get to imagine exactly where it happens and why.I liked how she didn't give everything away in the story, she goes at it gradually and it makes it more believable. The side characters are interesting and I hope will have their own story,I'm not into giving away the story but,if you like your sci-fi with romance, the you won't be disappointed. *I was given this book in form of an ARC by the author in exchange for my honest review*
Ragnar is a wolf shifter who went to Andromeda because his wolf was telling him their mate was there. He participated in the Blood Games there and won, but the prize got given to the runner-up because the judges said he had an unfair advantage being a wolf, even though he didn't change. So he attacked the Vandrian who convinced the judges to take his prize. He was then put in jail. While there four Andromedian sentries attacked him in his cell, so he killed them. Then he was sentenced to prison on another planet. Natasha is a Maiden on planet Andromeda. That means she is smart with childlike attributes. Maidens are in charge of everything including the men and the other class of women who are called Nymphs. Natasha is a pilot. She doesn't get along with her supervisor very well. She is also searching for her twin who went missing several months ago. She is assigned to take the transport ship with Ragnar on it to the prison. While enroute they are attacked by one of her own maiden sister-ships. They need to land on an abandoned planet to escape. While on the planet, Natasha's body starts to change. She developed breasts and curves and grows taller overnight. There is a myth on Andromeda that if a maiden ever met her mate then she would change into a nymph, but Natasha does not believe that it is real. She tries to reason that it is because of the gravity on the abandoned planet. There is some twists and adventure to this story that I totally enjoyed. I like reading sci-fi books and this one kept me entertained. Looking forward to the other brothers getting mates!
Totally unexpected twist of genre for Sasha Gold (if you've read her other work that is) but I liked it!
Sci-fi romance can be hit or miss for me so when this one hit my Kindle I wasn't too sure what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised and ended up quite enjoying it. Strong female lead in an interesting position for Natasha and Ragnar took a bit but ended up winning me over in the end.
Looking forward to reading about Ragnar's brothers when they find their mates! My interest was piqued!
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
But got way too dragged out middle to end. It got boring. Despite the fact that the characters started out strong and very well developed somehow at the end they felt one dimensional and cliche. Also I really didn’t like how at the end of the book the author tried to smash in all of these characters and events all in order to set up the upcoming books in the series. When I purchase a book I really don’t appreciate feeling like I’m reading a prequel to other books. I just want to read the book I chose, please stop trying to advertise other content.
I was so excited to hear about this book. I love Sasha's gruff and growly heroes. Ragnar was that and more. This world was so interesting. Sasha did an amazing job in her first sci-fi romance. I can't wait for more.
1.5 Star 2023 ⬆️⭐️⭐️ 📖✅ 4 Stars 2017 Didn’t like how the H was treating the h in the beginning before her body changed like she wasn’t good enough until she got breasts. Gave an extra star purely for the fact that the H was a virgin with the fated mate plot and he wasn’t sowing his wild oats while waiting for his mate. Lost interest so skimmed towards the end
