Girlfriend Power! Murder! And let the mayhem commence!

This was a fun, quirky, cozy mystery with a load of humor and some teasing romance tossed in for good measure. I had a good time reading this lighter story that was a team writing effort though don't ask me who wrote what since it was seamless from my perspective.

Addison Allen and Harley James have been best buds since childhood along with Addison's brother who also happens to be Harley's not so secret crush. The friendship wasn't supposed to last since Addison is filthy rich and Harley not even close. But they are 'help you bury the body' close and that is why when a real body turns up, Addison knows that Harley isn't guilty. But proving it to the hottie detective that puts some fire in the normally cool and collected Addison's panties is another story. But prove it these two intrepid gals will.

Harley adores Addison and more than adores her brother, Asher, but she has never figured out why the pair want her in their life. Rich, handsome, and accomplished pair who turned out so different from the country club society they were raised in. She's a hick from the sticks and she just got fired from her last job with not a prospect in sight. Now, she's jobless and a suspect in a murder investigation. She needs to clear her name and that means figuring out who set her up and why. Addison is ahead of her on this one and enjoys playing detective much to the annoyance of the handsome, hardworking police detective, Jake, who Harley thinks might just be the man for her strong-willed bestie. And dare she hope in the expression she catches in Asher's eyes whenever he looks at her lately?

The story is a blend of elements, but it was refreshing and fun that friendship was at the forefront. There might be a murder investigation and a pair of romances for these ladies, but what they have together is always present. They swap back and forth with the narration and as a result the reader gets to know both the woman and their special connection. Snarky and flirty humor round things out to make this light entertainment to lift a dreary afternoon or make a dental office visit not such a torture.

The mystery is solid enough even if the antics of Addison turn it more comedic than serious. One really can't take things too seriously to enjoy this one though there are some nice reveals and things get exciting a few times.

The very end shows that this is the opening gamut of a new series and there are threads that will carry over including the romantic entanglements and the flair for detection that the murder mystery brought out for Addison and Harley. Look forward to their next 'case'.

I can easily recommend this to those who enjoy lighter mysteries with a splash of romance.

My thanks to the authors for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

Dial L For Lynda had me laughing out loud. Addison and Harley are in their early twenties and their youth is reflected in their sharp, sassy, and hilarious dialogue. They certainly know how to turn a serious situation into an act of comedy.
In addition to the abundance of humour, there is a very good murder mystery behind it all. Harley's life is on the line as she is considered the main suspect. Having little faith that the police will capture the real killer, Addison and Harley take it upon themselves to help the investigation along and solve the case.
I loved the romantic interests for the two ladies as well and I can't wait to see how Addison and Detective Jake get on in the next book. Their teasing and arguments are comedic and cute while Harley's relationship with Addison's brother is a little bit more real and grown up. The pair are childhood friends who have fallen in love but need a little push to move out of the friendship zone.
I loved every minute of this book and I can't wait for more.

I have so much to say!!

So, first of all... I am not certain I would classify this as a cozy mystery, as it does have some "edge" (cussing, talk of sex) to it but either way I absolutely LOVED it!!

Addison and Harley are best friends and they cannot be more different! While they both find their way into trouble Addison looks for it and it seems to find Harley. Addison was snooty and fiercely loyal and Harley was meek and seemed sad but it was perfect for her character. I loved their dialogue and I was laughing out loud more often than not "listening" to these two go back and forth.

Along with the hilarity of these girls, comes the ROMANCE...which is, as always, my favorite portion of a cozy. Detective Jake was so fun, had SO much patience and loves him some sleuth! And.... There's even a second romance in here which is just as good!!!!

I love the New adult genre and Cozy Mysteries and I feel like these authors came together and created a perfect mixture of the two. I devoured this book in just a few hours and am begging for more already!

The mystery aspect of the novel was not guessable by me... By a long shot. I thought they way it all played out was perfectly timed and the characters were incredibly developed! I am excited to see what comes next for everyone!!

Great job girls!!

I have been following one of these authors (Tracey Jane Jackson) for sometime now, read a lot of her books, so when she approached me to read this book...i was like HECK YEAH!! and it definitely DID NOT disappoint. (i am disappointed that i have to wait for book two though...hahahaha but whats new, when you love a book so much)

Two Best Friends, since they were in 6th grade, coming from very different backgrounds, have remained friends ever since.
A body turns up on one of Harley's door step...and Addison and Harley work together to prove that she is innocent..and along the way they find love.

This book had me in stitches in some parts, told from a dual POV and i read it in one sitting.

So when it comes out, or at least pre-order it now... you will not be disappointed!!

Everything I love in a mystery!
This book has it all: Investigating a murder, Romance, and a ton of Hi-Larious interpersonal interactions.
These two besties couldn't be more different, but their dedication to each other and discovering the truth sets up a fantastically funny, yet dangerous, ride that I didn't want to get off.
Can't wait to see how much more trouble they can get into in future books!!

I'm not normally a fan of reading books written by more than one author. But these two pulled it off. It was smoothly written and fun and the friendship between the two main characters, awesome.

I love a good mystery, particularly with a strong female lead. This story has TWO strong female leads, which is even better! Addison and Dylan are best friends, and the strength of their friendship is displayed even more when Dylan is arrested for murder! This story alternates between Dylan and Addison's points of view, and I really found myself relating to Dylan. I really enjoyed the relationship between Dylan and Addison's brother Asher. Dylan and Asher started as friends, and while their feelings quickly grew to love, they have both shied away from really starting a relationship. Watching them decide to explore a romantic relationship was heartwarming to watch, and I eagerly looked forward to their scenes!

While Addison is trying to get Dylan out of jail, she meets Jake, the lead detective on the case. The two hit it off, but their relationship does have some bumps along the road. Their relationship was great to watch as well, but I still found myself preferring Dylan and Asher.

The characters in this book are intriguing and complex. I liked their banter and found myself laughing out loud at some parts. The mystery was interesting, and that along with the suspense angles really added something extra to the story. I'm excited to see this is a series and can't wait for more!

I absolutely, positively LOVED this book! It has been a long time since I’ve laughed so much when reading. I know many authors put a little of themselves into characters, if that’s the case with these two authors, then I have major sympathy for their husbands. (Although I'm sure life with either would never be dull.)

I did take just a bit to figure out Dylan and Addison were both women. Reading the blurb, at first, I thought Dylan was a man, but she is totally female. And, a dead body is found by police outside Dylan's apartment. All signs at first point to Dylan being the killer. Enter her BFF Addison, and the two women decide they are the only hope to prove Dylan's innocence. All of this is much to the frustration of Asher (Dylan's lawyer & Addison's brother) and Jake (detective assigned to Dylan's case and friend of Asher).

What then follows is absolute insane hilarity. So if you don't like laughing while reading, you might want to avoid this book. But my recommendation? Get this book, laugh and enjoy.

Have you ever read a book and thought "this would make a great TV series?" I would love to watch these bumbling amateur detectives as they try to solve a crime.

Addison and Dylan are best friends even though they are polar opposites. Addison is the spoilt rich girl. Dylan went to a private school on a scholar ship. Addison lives in a fancy condo. Dylan's apartment has more issues than I can count. Addison lives off a trust. Dylan works hard for every penny she makes, until she doesn't.

When Dylan looses her job her world comes tumbling down. She is soon arrested for the murder of her ex-boss. He was conveniently found dead as a doornail outside her front door. She and her bestie, Addison, won't sit idly by while she is railroaded. They may have grown up on opposite sides of the tracks but they stick together. Hopefully the will both survive the adventure that ham me in stitches.

Can't wait to see what the authors come up with next.

I loved this latest book by Piper Davenport and Harley Stone. This is the story of best friends Addison and Dylan. Dylan loses her job and her friend Addison comes to the rescue like a best friend should. When Dylan gets arrested for the murder of her ex boss....Addison jumps right in wanting to prove her bestie's innocence. Now that Dylan is out on bail they both work diligently to prove Dylan's innocence. Their antics kept me in stitches...they are so hilarious sometimes!!! Of course while solving a mystery...romance is in the air Addison with the detective working the case Jake and Dylan with Addison's brother Asher. The romance aspect was a nice balance to the story.

I freakin loved this story and can't wait for Addison and Dylan's next story!!! I highly recommend this story to everyone who enjoys a good mystery, laugh out loud moments, hot romance, and great banter. Well done!!!

I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

A hilarious, enjoyable read

I throughly enjoyed this book. Addison and Dylan are best friends and their banter and actions had me laughing out loud on numerous occasions. This is a beautifully written book that kept me flipping the pages to see what would unfold next. I love how Addison automatically knows that Dylan could never murder anyone and will do whatever it takes to prove her innocence. If you’re ever in trouble, you definitely need Addison in your corner. Asher the brother of Addison has been in love with Dylan for years and she feels the same way about him. Will they ever confess their feelings to each other? Then there’s Addison’s love interest Detective Jake Parker. Will they ever be able to connect on a personal level? No spoilers, so grab your copy and be ready to laugh a lot. I highly recommend this book to anyone that enjoys some comedy and suspense with their books.

I meet both Harley and Piper at MMM.. Harley suggested I read S.A.F.E. series when I needed a good laugh and she did not steer me wrong...This story is hilarious, it's about two best friends from different sides of the track but who are like sisters, besties all rolled into one. Dylan and Addison are the main characters they are alittle crazy but love them. Addison is all about fashion but she is honest and would Never leave her bestie behind. So when Dylan is arrested for murder, Addison will take on the case to clear her friends name. Let's just say from the beginning to end I was laughing with tears running down my face. Addison and Dylan will take private investigators roll to a whole new level even if it involves men with guns and kidnapping. This story has humor, suspense and romance. I guess you would say it has two love stories rolled into one book. So if you need a good laugh one click Dial A for Addison. Happy Reading!!!

I am an avid reader of anything by Piper Davenport but I had never read anything by Harley Stone before so this was a real treat!

This book was full of laugh out loud moments from start to finish and I liked the way the plot was always moving forward with the pace of the book due to the fact that the P.O.V alternated between Addison and Dylan who had very different personalities but together had a great dynamic. There was humour, danger, suspense, romance... something for everyone and a brilliant start to a new series about two very different women who love one another completely as the very best of friends should - who have now turned their hand to Private Investigating after solving a murder! I can see endless laughs and many adventures between this dynamic duo in the future!

I received a review copy of this book at no cost to the author and all opinions are 100% my own.

As always, Piper Davenport has delivered another amazing story!  I've read all of Piper's books, but I'm  new to Harley Stone.  This collaboration is the beginning of a new series, and I can't wait to see what they come up with next!  The action was non stop from the beginning, and kept me glued to my kindle.  The story line was fun, and the characters interesting.  The authors worked well together and kept me laughing.  The interactions between the two female leads was hilarious, and I never knew what they would get up to next.  There was so much going on in this story, from the underlying mystery, and the amateurish detective skills of the lead characters, to the friendships and romantic relationships of the girls and their leading guys.  It made for an amazing intro to a new type of story from one of my favorite authors!

If you are looking for a book that is hilarious with some romance and a murder mystery thrown in this book is it. Addison and Dylan are a hoot together. When Dylan's ex boss is found dead on her door step, she becomes the prime suspect. With the help of her bestie Addison she's determined to clear her name.
This book is everything I could want and I'm excited to read more of this series.

There is nothing better than reading about not one, but two great female characters. Addison and Dylan are best friends, ying to each other's yang. I loved these two. The banter between them and with those around them is great. Throw in some suspense and a couple of hot guys and you have a great read. The best news - this is only book one!!!

I loved this book

Mystery, mayhem and mirth; this book has them all. I loved Addison and Dylan’s banter, and while they’re both strong women they also have insecurities. They’re also starting out on new romances which are starting to sizzle and hopefully will combust in the next of this series.
