Yaoified Love

YaoiCon! like stepping into a manga. Why had rory lewis waited so long to join this friendly, fun-loving group, cosplaying their favorite ctional characters, or browsing tons of merchandise? He’d nally found his people! Folks who didn’t run away when he gushed about his favorite Japanese authors, or look at him oddly for mentioning “Seme” or “Uke.” And the scantily-clad bishōnen aching to serve made the convention as close to Heaven as rory might ever get.

running into a fantasy come to life, and watching con dent Kyle Austin lose his clothing piece by piece in Bishie Bingo, fries rory’s brain. He runs. Even worse than not seeing how far Kyle would go, rory’s lost his chance to make a once-in-a-lifetime connection.

A pushy best friend, Facebook, and Skype conspire to give rory a second chance. Can life echo his favorite boy-love romance?

Absolutely too freaking adorable and very hot! I loved the fact they met at YaoiCon and then spent months Skyping, texting, etc. Rory was definitely a little clueless when it came to realizing Kyle’s feelings, but he caught up to the program eventually, and his cluelessness was part of his charm.

This may be a wonderful yaoi book, but this genre isn’t for me. I found Rory downright immature and obnoxious. So I’ve learned my lesson and will avoid all things yaoi in the future. If you like yaoi books this is probably a good one.

American Yaoi.
Cute short story that follows two young American men who cosplay as characters in another mainstream yaoi series. They meet at Yaoicon, of course.

I'm no expert in the genre, but the story was pretty good with the MCs yaoifying situations up. Some scenes were a bit over the top, but when your fantasy becomes reality, anything goes.

I really can only think of one way to adequately describe this story: adorable. I mean, everything and every person in this book oozes sweetness. Of course, first place on the ‘cute list’ goes to Rory who is a charming combination of shy and needy. Setting eyes on Kyle turns our young virgin into a conflicting mess of feelings. His attraction to Kyle can’t be denied, but Rory’s insecurities won’t allow him to act on it. While every encounter with Kyle is more sexy and enticing than the last one, Rory can’t deal with the urgency of his desire and flees before he can find out whether the attraction is mutual or just something he’s conjured up in his own mind.

Rory charmed his way into my heart from the very first paragraph and Kyle wasn’t far behind. Because we experience the whole story through Rory’s eyes and mind we know from the start that Rory is smitten. While Rory may be blind to the fact — or unable to believe what he does see — it was instantly clear to this reader that Kyle fell just as hard. When a combination of Rory’s fear and a case of bad luck conspires to keep the two men apart I was almost as distraught as poor Rory.

Cue Amber, Rory’s best friend and staunchest supporter in all things love. Not only did she make sure Rory didn’t give up on Kyle when all seemed lost, she also brought the most wonderful humorous interludes to what might otherwise have turned into a very angsty story.

In fact, between Rory’s soul searching, Amber’s irreverence, and Kyle’s dominance this story had just about the perfect combination of deep yearning, delightful humour, and enticing sexy times. Yaoified Love was a delicious read from start to finish and left me with a huge grin on my face after I’d read the “over the top” (but very fitting) epilogue.

Now, before I finish this review, I have to admit that what I know about Yaoi would fit on the back of a postage stamp, so I couldn’t tell you how fitting to the genre this story might be. What I can say is that if this story sets a standard, I have obviously found yet another genre I need to investigate further.

Short but fun yaoi

Yaoi is male and male love or sex stories.

This one finds Rory betwixt and between. His friend Amber has tricked him to go to a Yaoicon. Not sure if that is a real thing in real life, but it was interesting. Rory is bi-sexual but so far has not been with a man. It is not clear why this is but it just is.

At the convention he bumps literally into Kyle. Oozing sex appeal Rory is stunned especially as Kyle is dressed like the partner character to his yaoi character's costume. Others start getting excited at the two together and poses are made.

The first talk Amber and Rory go to is Why choose yaoi?

As they settle the talker walks in and happens to be Kyle.

Because everyone loved his talk Kyle was surrounded but he saw Rory still seated. He eyes strayed often to Rory during his talk. He wanted to know more and do more with this very interesting man. Rory managed to come up to him and they were asked to pose again as the photographer and mobster. Rory is on the desk with Kyle nestled between his legs. Things start getting hot between them. They both part and Rory departs.

Later there is an auction of cards. Several men on the stage and the cards bought up, the cards are called and participants from the audience get to remove items from the men. Rory gets more and more upset when Kyle is the one and only one being undressed. Rory leaves when the trousers are reached he couldn't watch any more.

After then Rory tried to stay away from Kyle. Convention over, they all return to their respective homes.

On the website, Kyle puts an appeal out for Rory. Amber tells him about it. He contacts Kyle and they start texting, skyping, and emailing each other. They both start to know more about each other.

As a present Kyle gives Rory the flight to get to a convention. They have a memorable time and things start to happen.

The ending is too good to spoil, so is the weekend at the convention.

If you like yaoi it is a fantastic read. If your new to yaoi, this is a tame story compared to some and could be a great starting point.

This was a fun read and especially so for people who love cons. I've never been to this particular con but I enjoyed the descriptions of the activities and the way the author captured the spirit of cons, the camaraderie and freedom and magic. The nod to the author's fav yaoi series was cute and makes me want to look them up. There is a bit of panel discussion of why people are drawn to yaoi that is pretty short but interesting. Most important, though, is the off-the-charts chemistry between Rory and Kyle. Rory fights it. He's calling himself bisexual but has only been on a few gay dates and is sort of running scared. He also can't accept that Kyle really likes him. He keeps thinking it's an act, like the poses that people keep wanting them to do together in character. Kyle almost becomes the one that got away, but persistence wins the day in several ways and gives them a great happy ending. The sex scenes are hot (except Rory's first bottoming experience) and plentiful. This is a good story both for a yaoi veteran and for someone just wondering what the heck all those words are.

In Yaoified Love, we meet Rory Lewis, a Yaoi fan and college student, and Kyle Austin, another Yaoi fan and student. The story is told in third person through Rory’s eyes.

Yaoified Love by Z Allora is a short story about two young men, Rory Lewis and Kyle Austin, who meet at YaoiCon. With this being Rory’s first time at YaoiCon and having been tricked by his best friend Amber to go, Rory wasn’t sure what to expect. When he ran into Kyle, who is a regular, they both fell into lust. Unfortunately, before they could admit to their feelings for each other, Kyle was called away from the convention due to family issues involving his father.

Living on opposite sides of the continent, it was hard for them to get back together. When they finally reconnected, they ended up skyping and eventually meet back up. They did have their HEA at the end.

For a short story, this was very well written and the character development was great. The story was absolutely adorable. I would recommend this for anyone who enjoys MM romance, Yaoi love and Manga. What I would like to see is for the author to expand on this story and give me more details. I want to see what else happened to Rory and Kyle. Why Kyle was so deep into researching Manga and more specifically Yaoi for his college degree? Why did Rory wait so long to go to a convention? Please give us more Z!

A short story revolving around male YAOI fans. Taking place mainly in a YAOI convention setting with cosplayers that are real men, which would be a miracle in and of itself since most all YAOI cosplayers I've ever seen are women. It is a sweet tale of a long distance relationship that does have a HEA. Medium on the sexy scale with a hint of tease.

I love Yaoi and this book.

Unexpectedly over the top in situations and enough character development to connect the parts and maintain the interactions. Kyle and Rory are perfect complementary figures in a love bigger than both.

A friend dared me to read this book. After responding that I don't have it they provided, so I had to go ahead and read the whole book. I'm not sure the friendship will survive this dare....
Note: I wish the bishounencon had more relevance.... what is it like? I need to know...

If you are not familiar, nor a fan of yaoi culture, skip this book, you will not get any of the references.

This book was kinda cute but play a little bit too much on the stereotype of this genre (the whole uke/seme is mentioned every two pages and is a little bit annoying). Also, the M.C is super into yaoi but never explore anything of the sort in the bedroom? I don’t believe this at all.

Rory, with his friend Amber go to Yaoicon (is this really a thing??). There he meets Kyle, another fan who is cosplay as the love interest of his character (we are talking here about Viewfinder, a classic yaoi manga). The two young men immediately connect but for some reasons do not exchange contacts. After some complicated research, they end up talking to each other again via the web, since they do not live in the same city.

Quite short & have a happy ending in case you are interested.
