Morgan Hibbins and her Sisters are preparing for the biggest Halloween festival their town has ever seen, and everything is right on schedule, until a harmless summoning charm meant to bring her the man of her dreams turns out to be a little too real. Detective Adam Corey is attempting to keep an eye on the new mysterious group of holy rollers, suddenly pushing back against Halloween. He would have an easier time trying to keep the peace if he could only stop thinking about the strange woman invading his dreams.
Fantastic novella by this author based around a small community of witches. Morgan is a lifestyle blogger, surrounded by her perfect cottage, hidden in a colony of witches. She has the perfect home..just missing one thing... and when she feels the need to get it she goes to her ‘she shed’ or wank tank as I having lovingly renamed it and beats one out with a spectre of her summoning. After a very realistic session in the wank tank she knows not what she summoned.. more like who???
Adam is a detective in the same community, he is focused on watching a fanatical church who are stirring up problems for the hippy chicks who live in the colony... after a very realistic dream he finds his time diverted from watching the psycho church goers and focusing on Morgan... the hippy chick who is also a witch. He knows this because his mom is one too!
Unexpected ending brilliantly pulled off. Will be looking out from more from this author and hopefully more in series???
Morgan and Adam were continually in their own heads. So much so, I started skimming and looking for some actual story to start happening. It was frustrating. And boring. There was no depth to the characters or plot, so I didn’t find anything too interesting or likable and was unable to connect.
The book started off well. I especially enjoyed the humour between Adam and his mom...then Morgan just started irritating me...especially with her view on kids.
So I was not sold on Morgan at first. I really hate it when people who don't want kids call people breeders. She eventually becomes a likable enough character.
I loved this story about modern day witches. The twist she put on everything was amazing and the world she created was brilliant. I loved that they found each other in their dreams.
