Nathan M. Farrugia is the USA Today bestselling author of the Helix and Fifth Column sci-fi thriller series.
Nathan is known for placing himself in dangerous situations, including climbing rooftops in Russia and being hunted by special forces trackers in the United States. He studies Systema, a little-known martial art and former secret of the Russian special forces.
Beyond his army training, Nathan has trained under USMC, SEAL team, Spetsnaz and Defence Intelligence instructors, and the wilderness and tracking skills of the Chiricahua Apache scouts and Australian Aboriginals.
Helix 8: Kill Switch by Aussie author Nathan M. Farrugia is another fast paced, action packed race against time for Olesya, Sophia and the small team of operatives as they try to stop Purity in their tracks. Purity has plenty of manpower as well as fire power – the odds aren’t good. Their plan to get to the Spear to put it out of action is thwarted at every turn, and the danger to them all is great. Aviary spends much of her time working alone, connected by her earpieces to the others. Her control is legendary.
The ending of this thrilling, chilling episode comes with a massive cliff hanger – hopefully #9 won’t be too far away. A brilliant series of which Kill Switch didn’t disappoint. Highly recommended.
With thanks to the author for my digital ARC to read in exchange for an honest review.
This is one hell of a cracking series, I remember once upon a time comparing Farrugia to Matthew Reilly, that feels like such a lame comparison now as Farrugia has surpassed anything the Reilly has ever written. The characters and action are first rate, once I got into the action I found myself out of breath when things calmed down for a bit.
You can sense the end is nearing in the series, the action this time is all focused in Prague, all the various players are there preparing to do battle. One thing I noticed this time around....Farrugia has perfected the mission planning, when Olyesa steps up to explain how they are going to attack and describes the target and route in I was able to picture it well enough that if she called on me to assist I'd be quite the asset.
As I've come to expect from Farrugia he messes with your nerves, you'll have your favourite characters and they will take a number of hits, leaving you hoping that they survive to the end of the book. Also this one ends on it's typical cliffhanger :-) once all episodes are out this will be one hell of a series to binge read :-)
Thank goodness for short chapters because I am pretty sure the only time I breathe is at their ends. Each one focuses on non-stop action that is often happening simultaneously as operatives battle their way to the heart of the enemy in Prague. Attacked from all sides, can Olesya and Sophia and company stop Purity from overpowering Europe? What of the dissidents, not on the side of our heroes, not on the side of Purity. What about the KILL SWITCH that could go off at any time? Nathan M. Farrugia’s KILL SWITCH is rich with formidable characters, scenes that feel alive and page after page of opportunities for readers to become part of the chase, the rush and the danger. Enhanced soldiers, determined to stand like David versus Goliath at any cost.
I can’t recommend this episodic series enough as warriors for good race against time and death to save the world from the deadliest of enemies…lies and manipulation.
I received a complimentary copy from Nathan M. Farrugia! This is my honest and voluntary review.

Simply Amazing, I loved it. Nathan Farrugia has produced a wonderful piece of writing with this tense and entertaining story. I really enjoyed the first seven books in this series, and I’m thrilled that the story continues to surprise me in so many ways. Olesya, Jay, Sophia and the team are still trying to stop Purity from their plans of taking over Europe. However, there are so few of them and Purity seems to have an endless supply of people on their side. Every time they plan something Purity is there to stop it. There is a quantum computer that Purity has transmitting signals out of that Jay and the Team need to get to. They need to come up with an idea for stopping the signal or changing it, then maybe they can stop Purity from a complete take over. A fabulous story from start to finish. 5/5 Star Rating.
Olesya's and Sophia and their dedicated group of followers albeit very short in numbers and firepower but extremely resilient appear to be the only group with a chance, a Microscopic one at that of stopping Purity from controlling Europe and eventually the world. This is set in the future with scientific adjustments made too the combatants Sophia and Olesya's followers are facing. Non stop action from the first to last page. Another stupendous read in this series. My highest recommendation!!
Fantastic! So much action this is a gripping series with so much going on. I love it im already part way through episode 9. This is no stop thrills from the start.
