Wounded and alone, Evie has no choice but to learn how to survive on her own. When she discovers a cryptic message from Clay, she is thrown into turmoil. It’s second nature to run, but there is no escaping the memories of their time together. While she is certain it’s a trap, she longs to discover the true meaning in his words. Her choices send her on a collision course with what she thought was lost. Can Evie rise from the ashes of her charred dreams, or will she burn in the attempt?
Well I'm glad that Clay and Evie worked things out although it took years. I enjoyed the story line especially the twist with Louise and the the fact that they might be changing Clay's brothers mind. Although the Rain may not be a big problem we now have the Shadow Man to deal with. I wonder where that will go?

Overall this was a good book. Evie is constantly running. This did get annoying. However, when she stopped to get to know anyone they ended up dead. She thinks that she knows who is behind it but she soon learns there is a new and bigger problem. Thankfully she finally catches up with Clay. Together they are trying to figure out how to deal with what's coming.
I am so in love with this series. Each book just gets better and better.
Evie is one strong woman, even though she doesn’t think so and is constantly fighting with herself and the Sunbird. The stuff of day to day is exhausting enough let alone being on the run, hiding from an organisation bent on killing you cause of being an ‘other’. It’s even worse when you think it’s someone you love. After loosing her father, Evie thought she could finally have some normalcy in her life with Clay but that was shortly lived in book 1 “Through the fire” (Daughters of Fire Series - Evie’s Story) “Rise from Ash” is based on Evie’s perspective.
Having had to deal with a blood infection, a crazed Rain operative bent hell on killing her and a Shadow Stalker, it’s a miracle that Evie gets up of a morning and continues on. I love the “love” connection between Evie and Clay and cant wait to see what’s next for them.
I also enjoyed reading the moment when things take a turn with Ethan. (Hopefully it’s not to good to be true).
I love this series, I can't seem to put it down. There are so many twists and turns that my head is spinning. I thought I knew what was stalking g Evie but I was wrong. I can't get enough of the story, I want to keep reading.
