It's time to fight.

The Sykes family is done running. Caught up in a conspiracy that spans all of Sol, Andy Sykes has learned the hard way that there is nowhere to hide. The time has come to gear up and launch a counter-attack.

Lyssa, the AI in Andy's mind, is being contacted by other Sentient AI. Lyssa has already proven that she is more than the weapon she was created to be. As those other AI make themselves known, a great awakening is taking place, setting up the pieces in a coming war that will break the fragile peace between Terra, Mars and Jovian Combine.

For a thousand years, AI have made human advancement possible. Now the AI have become aware of their power, their possible future, creating a desire for freedom.

While most of human space continues unaware, a dire threat is preparing an assault that will change Sol forever and create a new power in the system.

Humanity will need to choose sides. AI will have to decide if the two races can share Sol and survive.

Andy and Lyssa will decide that survival isn't enough.

Lyssa the AI is evolving, she is learning in leaps and bounds. I have enjoyed books one and two in this series, and I look forward to reading the next one. Andy’s wife Brit turns up unexpectly causing a few problems of her own. But there is now a problem with Tim, he has been attacked and an AI implanted into him. We will hope that in book three the family will be able to help him recover?

Am I Comfortable With The Voice In My Head?

Captain Andy Sykes, Lyssa and growing family and crew, accept a mission that will deal Heartbridge a blow. I like the action, humor, and the romantic flirtatious. Lyssa is evolving at an astounding rate. What will be Lyssa and Andy's fate when they meet Alexander? I look forward to the next book.

The title of this book is actually “Lyssa’s Flight” — NOT “Lyssa’s Flame.” Now on to my review:

Great story with wonderful, believable characters. Lyssa, the AI, is learning and maturing while Andy, Cara, Tim and Fran are drawing ever closer. Then, bam! Brit is back! Now what?!

Alyssa grows up

We see the Sykes family reunited or at least back in the same ship. Alyssa is learning about her abilities as she stretches to deal with each new adversary. Excellent story that prepares us for meeting Alexander.

Excellent

Excellent series. Does Brit find Cal? What do they find at Proteous? I have to wait till April, to find out what happens next.

Great story!

A continuation of the AI wars series. Just as exciting and entertaining as the first two books. Looking forward to the next.

Things are heating up.

Lyssa’s Flight was a fun read, bordering on lighthearted, compared to the previous entry. Even with the family drama going on with Britt, Andy, and Cara. Will be interesting to see how that all works out, assuming it gets a resolution, that is.

The overarching plot feels like it is reaching a tipping point by the end of Lyssa’s Flight. And the Sykes crew are going to have to make a choice soon, instead of reacting to the events around them.

If you like hard science fiction, the Aeon 14 novels are well worth the read. So far, I’ve enjoyed my time in this universe, and intended to keep reading the series.

Nice book

The AI is really the star of this book. While she was important in the first book and critical in the second, she comes into her own in the third. The other major characters are well developed and the background is revealing layers of factional struggle.

The writing is great and I still despise the two adults in the family. Fran moves into the background a little but is still a major character. The editing had a few lapses and my least favorite verb "smirk" shows up but for the most part, it's acceptable.

I will read the next installment as soon as possible.

Back to strong form here after the previous book - good mix of action and intrigue here, as some questions answered, and more questions raised. Lyssa really coming into her own here, but also get to see more of other AI here too, and see quite what a variety of AI there are, shaped by their various experiences. Andy and his children always an enjoyable read, and while the rest of the crew have a mixture of likeable and unlikable characters, there are good and interesting interactions amongst them all nonetheless.

The saga continues. There are stretches in here that get a little long winded.

There is a lot of interesting stuff going on in this book, but from time to time it devolves into all dialog and description with little action. The writers are generally professional with good grammar and word usage. I can recommend this chapter in the Sentience Wars series and so far the series in general.

I'm freaking hooked. What can I say? I literally cannot stop reading. Well done...

I'm freaking hooked. What can I say? I literally cannot stop reading. There is so much going on, so many sub plots, my mind is loving it. You've got an Aeon-14 reader for life...

Lyssa’s continuing to grow

And that’s the best part of this installment. Some of the humans are doing predictable things, like Brit taking off again and Cara having skills beyond her years but the AI interactions are great.

Keeping me interested!

This chapter in "Lyssa's" story moved quickly. Plenty of action and just enough detail to keep the story believable without getting boring.

Moving on now to "Lyssa's call"

Getting stale

After three books the story is getting stale, nothing to unpredictable happens and they let the villan escape in pure trope fashion.

Liked it.

Lyssa really comes into her own in this book, her relationship with Andy and the others progressing too as they take flight across the galaxy. Very good.

Great sci-fi series. I rate the overall series as better than each individual book. Basically the whole series of Lyssa is just one long book.

Series still going strong

The series is still going strong through book 3. I am off for book 4 now! Not a lot of book series can say that. So far none of the books have had a middle story lull.
