Their latest book is The 13-Storey Treehouse (September 2011).
My 9 yr old daughter loves to read and she giggled on vacation constantly on the first book of this series... she is currently on the 2nd and cant put it down!
I mean, these books are definitely not awful. But they can be cheesy, and, they are a bit repetitive. It's always a different plot, and they are funny, but it's a very quick read, and its a similar reason to Diary of a wimpy kid, there are a lot of pictures. It's still good, but can go by very quickly.
Andy and Terry are idiots. Plain, stupid idiots. They are so stupid. Ridiculously stupid. But, if you are stupid you can relate to their stupid mistakes and mishaps. But it does make for some entertaining plots.
Andy: Andy is the narrator, and as such, he is awful at drawing. He is flawed deeply. He mentions in a book in the series how he had awful parents. They raised someone very stupid. He is dumber than I think is possible, but I'm not sure. He makes mistakes. 2/10 on the normal human review, 10 being normal, 0 being basically a worm.
Terry: Terry is the artist, he draws the pictures, he is the illustrator. He... is very, very dumb. He paints a cat yellow and expects it to fly, which, because this is a very strange set of books, does actually fly. He makes so many mistakes, he has an addiction to burping, but you can't help but root for him. I am lying. You want him to go and get a job, because, honestly, how old are these two? Andy was about to say in one book, but he didn't. 1/10
So, they are either 12 or 21. No idea.
Mr Big nose: According to these books, caused the extinction of dinosaurs, from a prehistoric Dino version of himself. Very normal guy compared to the other two. 5/10.
Jill: Jill is good and bad. Loves dogs, good, loves her cat too much, bad. She is either in love with Andy or Terry, or maybe both. Probably a pyscopath. 7/10
Mermaid/serial killer Sea monkey monster: Most normal one. Likes to eat humans. Gets shrunk massively. 8/10
So, they are cheesy, and there are more characters than these freaks, but anyway. Read if you want to not think about things and want to melt your own brain down to the utter stupidity of Terry.
I liked how in the first and second book Terry washed his underwear (well tried) in the shark tank, but the sharks ate his underwear. In the third book they formed Professor Stupendo and he was a famous "uninventor" He uninvented Earth, the Universe, galaxy - everything except Terry or Andy- all on a dare! He even uninvented himself but kept the "spooncil" so Terry used the "spooncil" to redraw everything he uninvented. Terry forgot to re-draw Jills 12 flying cats and Silky so Andy tried to Silky but he is a terrible artist and created a monster so Terry had to come to the rescue and made him promise to never draw anything again.
