Rate this book

Activist meets corporate in this sizzling romance author Jill Sanders.

Trent McGowan has never been the guy who doesn’t get what he wants. He and his brothers are making a go of the oil business, and he’s always had a bit of a reputation with the ladies. Only lately, something’s been missing—something Trent never realized he needed…until he sees his childhood crush standing on the picket line, trying to destroy his company. Environmentalist Adrianna Collins has returned to her hometown of Haven, Montana, on a mission to stop destructive oil mining. She never imagined that the corporate face on the other side of the protest line would be her lifelong crush. The Trent she remembers is better known for flirting than, uh, fracking, and she can’t believe he’d risk his city to make a quick buck.

Now Trent’s determined to prove that he’s not the person she thinks he is. If he can earn Addy’s trust, he might be able to save his company—and bring Addy home for good.

The second installment to the Haven, Montana series was very interesting, but definitely left you hanging so you know there has to be at least a 3rd book coming which is good news if you love a series to keep you interested like I do. Intriguing plot with interesting characters that have been well developed. You either really like them or really don't as the author intends you to have feelings of like/dislike for them individually. I'm looking forward to seeing where the series goes and the series is definitely making me miss Montana! I see a return trip to Montana in my future both in the series and in real life!

The suspense is killing me. I need to get to the root of the problem and destruction like NOW... This had even more WTF moments but I would say the Brian may have straightened up. His talk with Addy had more meaning that what was shown. I still can’t get a handle on Dennis and his beef. Carl is just bitter and want something he didn’t work for.

Now let’s get to the stars.... Trent sexy self and Adrianna. Couldn’t have asked for a more perfect match. His truths and her past gutted me. I cried, laughed, and stood side by side with Addy from beginning to end. She got her strength and voice from Trent showing her love and friendship. It was solidified by the letter her father wrote. Jill did this series proud by bring on more drama and dislike. She also showcased how a family unit stands and multiply.

This is book 2 of this series by Jill Sanders. I read the first one also and I'm glad I did. Although this could probably be read as a stand alone, I think reading them in order is going to make things a lot easier to understand in this series.
In Never Let Go, the McGowan brother that is the main character is Trent. When a girl he went to school with shows back up in Haven working as an activist and protesting his company, he's thrown for a loop. Addy (supposedly) was never on his radar back then, but he was certainly on hers. Even though they are apparently on opposite sides, he starts working to convince her that he's not a bad guy. When someone starts targeting her, he is right by her side. Will he ever get her to see him as anything other than the playboy type he was in his past and accept his family, his business and him?
Addy has issues in coming back. Her relationship with the townspeople and her own parents leave a lot to be desired. She can be really tough when she needs to be, and she may have to be to survive this homecoming. She's passionate about her work...and just maybe Trent, too.
There are definitely cliffhangers in this book that will lead us to the next one. Nothing is neatly tied up. If that bugs you, you'll have problems with this book. It just makes me anxious for the third in the series!

Addy Collins grew up in Haven, but her family life was never a happy one. Her mother was cold and almost cruel to the point that Addy thought she had been a mistake. Her father wasn't any better and neither of them showed her any love. At her first opportunity she left home and was working for FREE, environmental activists who were currently in Haven to find out what the McGowan family were up to. It was clearly something big as there was a lot of secrecy about their latest project. Being an old school friend of Trent McGowan might have helped get her more information for FREE and spending time with one of the most handsome men in Haven was an added bonus.

Trent McGowan was very pleased to see Addy back in town, that girl had always fascinated him. She was very intelligent and strong willed, but also beautiful and he really wanted to get to know her better.

As ever with Jill's books, a good few twists and turns in the plot, a few good strong characters, all mixed in with Some drama that will keep you guessing who is behind the bad things that happen. Great story that could be read as a standalone book.

Exciting, romantic, heart-warming, and frustrating. Didn't think about this book as being part of a series. I want all the various situations, problems, etc. wrapped up neatly at the end. Yes, it does have a wonderful ending to the story. It is the loose ends that I know are suppose to make me want to read the next one in the series and I do, but I wanted to keep reading until everything came to a successful conclusion now. I did skip over the intimate details. The publisher provided a copy via NetGalley for my voluntary review.

Sweetest Surprise!!!

Trent McGowan had never had a problem getting what he wanted. Whether it was in business or in his personal life but lately he felt as something important was missing in his life. He never knew what it was until he saw his childhood crush (Abby Collins) again after many years.

Adrianna "Abby" Collins, an environmentalist who returned to her hometown of Haven, Montana, on a mission to stop oil mining. But she never imagined she would come face-to-face with her longtime crush (Trent McGowan).

Trent wanted to know what made the sweet girl he loved turn into who she was now. As they spend time together, they both saw how much they've changed. That didn't stop them from falling hard for each other.

Abby found herself in danger because some people weren't to please with her associating herself with the McGowans. The latter was working on making sure the people of Haven were a part of their late father's greatest project.

It was great to catch up with Tyler and Kristen ( CLOSER TO YOU ). Love the dynamic between the McGowans and those they held close to their hearts.

NEVER LET GO is the second book in Jill Sanders' HAVEN, MONTANA series. It was exhilarating, filled with wonderful and heart-wrenching twists and turns. Jill Sanders did an outstanding job. 5++++

P. S. Looking forward to Trey's story! ;)

Trent and Addy are on opposite sides as far as their jobs. Started out that each was trying to get the other to share secrets, but ended up trusting each other more everyday.
I really enjoyed Never Let Go, and can't wait to read the next book in this series. The wait will be hard. I want to see what happens next.

Never Let Go takes us back to the close knit McGowan family in small town Montana. Trent and Addy have known each other for years but Addy wasn't the type of girl Trent usually dated all those years ago. Addy is on a mission with her job and Trent is basically standing in her way but this won't stop the sexual chemistry these two have for each other.

I enjoyed watching how Trent and Addys relationship grew and how the rest of Addys family story evolved. Great story that kept me turning the pages. Looking forward to the next instalment........

** I have received an Arc for an honest review! **

This book is the second in the series. I highly recommend reading the first book in series.

Set in Haven, Montana.

I absolutely loved this story!! A lot of things happen in this book that I would have liked to throw my phone and I had myself saying, “OMG, now this? Seriously?”

It is Abby Collins and Trent McGowan story.

Addy goes to college for two years and decides to drop out of college and her parents are not happy. Abby’s parents story say that her mother is the one with the money from old oil money but is that also true?? Addy also finds out that her father will be a father again but not with his wife, is that even possible?

Abby works with FREE, Friends Respecting Everything Environmental, as a program organizer. She has to return town with the main purpose of her job—to protest Trent’s family’s oil business. They are purchasing over a hundred acres, but what for?? She heard it was for fracking but is that true??

She had so many years of memories about Trent especially his six-foot-plus height. Trent was always too busy with other pretty ladies that he didn’t give her the time of the day.

Trent and Tyler are clearing a plot of land adjacent to the family acreage with high hopes of building their own homes.

“They don’t love the way I turned out. I’m a disappointment. Have been all my life.”

“Too fragile, too smart, too pretty. Too good for someone like me.”

I want to thank Jill Sanders, author and Goodreads First Reads for the eBook Kindle copy ofNever Let Go that I won on the Giveaway.

When Trent McGowan decided that he was in love with environmentalist Adrianna Collins he decided to Never Let Go. This is the second book in the series and continues the story of how the three McGowan brothers took over their family oil drilling business when their father died and turned it around.

The family including Trent and Addy continue to have problems. Two fires, one to destroy evidence against the kidnapper of Tyler's finance and the other blew up Addy's jeep with two propane tanks in the back that blew up the front of the grocery store and injured Addy. Addy comes from an uncaring family so she is reluctant to commit to Trent. The attacks and problems on McGowan's continue as they move forward to build a training center to train other oil industry drillers in a new safer and more environmentally friendly drilling process.

Both Trent and Tyler are building homes on the land they inherited to put down roots in Haven and find a happy ending with the women they love forever. In the end Abby decides she can Never let Go of Trent too.

Triggers -- violence and suicide

This story has it all, intrigue, love, family dysfunction and a happy ending.

Trent has adored Addy from afar since childhood. Not knowing how to approach the nerdy girl, he watched her grow up and leave their little town. Now that she's back, Trent isn't going to miss his opportunity to show Addy his true feelings.

Addy left Haven to find peace within herself. Leaving her family wasn't hard as it is for most kids going away to college, she found it freeing. Her parents weren't exactly loving or encouraging and she longed for a place to just be herself, and she found it being anywhere but in her hometown.

As a peaceful protester fighting for environmental causes, she's back in Haven determined to keep the McGowan brothers on the straight and narrow. What she doesn't expect is to have Trent McGowan flirting with her and being her shoulder to lean on.

I enjoyed this book and the way the characters were written. Emotional scenes are extremely well written and brings the reader into the scene with the characters something that is hard to do and Ms. Sanders did it very well.

This was a great addition to the series.

Daddy had a bad relationship with her parents and didn't know why she was in Haven. Trent had a wonderful relationship with his parents but with the death of his dad, he is finding it hard to fill his shoes.

I loved the interaction between them. Can't wait for the next one.

Never Let Go by Jill Sanders is the second book in Haven, Montana series. The hero of the story is Trent McGowan who is making a go of the family oil business with his two brothers. The lady giving him problems is Adrianna Collins who is an environmentalist and is coming home to haven. There are relationships issues, family issues, and environmental issues as well as a mystery. The characters are well developed and the differences are looked at from both sides. The are twists and turns in the story. Jill Sanders writes a story that keeps your interest. I look forward to reading the next Haven, Montana series.

Addy is in charge of a group of protesters who are keeping eyes on the McGowen family. Trent is the middle brother, in charge of land development.

The mystery deepens as the family gets closer to sharing their big secret (the technology their father created). We are still left with several suspects. There is also the tragedy of suicide in this story.

A good read and I’m antsy to find out who was behind all the bad stuff.

Trent McGowan and Adrianna 'Addy' Collins are on opposing sides when it comes to oil mining. While Addy is determined to stop the destructiveness of it, Trent and his brothers are doing everything they can to make certain their father's legacy remains alive. However, Trent has always considered Addy to be the one woman that got away, and now he's determined to do everything he can to prove that he is the right man for her. Will Addy give Trent a chance, or will the wounds of her past never heal enough to be able to give the pair a shot at happy ever after?

Sitting down to read a book by Ms. Sanders is always a good time, as her books have incredible characters, fast-paced storylines that are filled with plenty of obstacles the main characters need to overcome, and the dialogue is always compelling and makes this reader so determined to learn what the characters have gone through in their pasts and what they will go through on their journey to happy ever after. And I've got to say that this book was an absolutely enthralling read that grabbed my undivided attention from the very beginning and didn't let go until I got to the last page.

The way this story started had me liking the hero and heroine from the moment they come face-to-face for the first time, as it's palpable Trent wants Addy, but whether she'll give him a chance or not is debatable. Since already she's been too hurt in her past by both friends and family and taking a chance on Trent could end up hurting her even more if things don't work out. How long does it take Trent to win her over? Furthermore, the main characters are delightful and I love every interaction between them, as Trent is determined to prove to Addy that he's changed for the better. He's no longer the playboy he once was, but still as confident and charming as ever. I also liked how protective the hero is of Addy, as she goes through a lot in this story including what happens to her father and everything someone is determined to do to her. Yet, what I liked most of all about the hero was the tight bond he shares with his family, and how they treat Addy like she's family too.

While the heroine, she's been through tough times and I could understand why she doesn't trust easily. Her mother and her ex-best friend are real pieces of work and I liked how she stood up for herself when it came to everything she faced when it came to the two women that have made life unbearable for her at times. Really, she's resilient and courageous and I liked how she handled everything she goes through in this story. Yet, what I liked most of all about the heroine was that she gave the hero a chance, as he proves to her that he'll be there for her always.

Overall, Ms. Sanders has delivered an utterly fantastic read in this book where the chemistry between this couple was instantaneous the moment they met and just kept getting stronger as the story progressed; the romance was hot and had me hoping for the best for this couple; and the ending had me cheering for what the heroine did when it came to her mother and then how things work out for the best between her and Trent. Really, nothing can top what Trent does towards the end. What a way to take the spotlight off his brother for a short time. I would recommend Never Let Go by Jill Sanders, if you enjoy the enemy to lovers trope, the opposites attract trope, or books by authors Bella Andre, Erin Nicholas, Melanie Shawn and Jamie Beck.

I love a good series that each book can be read as a standalone. That is exactly what the Haven, Montana Series is. Each member of the McGowan family will get their own book to tell their story and I am so excited to get to know each one of them.

Never Let Go is Trent’s story. Well, Trent and Adrianna’s story. Both are from Haven but Adrianna left and is only back to protest against Trent’s family’s business. Seems an unlikely match but it makes sense. I love that Trent understands that Addy is just doing her job and respects that she is standing up for what she believes in. Addy also respects Trent and understands that he is also doing his job and that all may not be what it seems with his family business.

One of my favorite parts of this story is the McGowan family. Without questions, without doubts they accept Addy into their family with open arms. They take her in when her own family turns her back on her, when she has no one else to turn to, and when she just needs support. Their open, loving style of love his absolutely amazing and explains why Trent has grown up to be the man he is. I love that his mom lays down the rules to him when Addy spends the night even though they are both grown adults.

The romance is the focus of the story but it was interesting to see the story of Dennis and the family business be carried over from the first book. There is still a mystery of Dennis and if he is going to be found out to be the culprit behind all the trouble in Haven, Montana. Throw in Darla and I am sure there is so much more excitement to come in the next book in the series.

I would recommend picking up your own copy and meeting the amazing residents of Haven, Montana.

My Review:
Overall: 3.5
Performance: 3.0
Story: 3.75

Overall, I'm enjoying this series. I like the three brothers and their mother and what they're trying to do in this small town with their oil business. My husband works in the oil business at the same time that we believe in environmental issues...not an easy balance, so I really, really love what the author is trying to do with these guys and their company.

This was an interesting story just because Addy is a huge environmental activist, actively protesting the McGowan's oil company...not exactly a match made in heaven. But the story works...even if Addy did seem to lose a bit of her fire by the end of the story as her focus shifted from her job to her family issues. The book felt a bit split just because Addy's conflict was split into two very separate issues.

But I did like Trent's home life and the things that are developing there for this series. And I really enjoyed Trent and Addy as a couple. I also LOVED the puppy developments and all their names....oh, and the horse names were PERFECT.

Note: I really didn't like this narrator much. While she had great voices that were very distinctive from one another, she had a weird way of inflecting her narration. Her narration was extremely precise and as such there was a distinct end at the end of each sentence that felt too much like she was reading. There were several times throughout the audiobook where it was so bad that it distracted me from the story...not good.

So, not the most gushing review I've ever written, but don't misread me...I did enjoy the book and am fully looking forward to the final book in the series.

Whether you are new to this author and/or this series, you will come to love them both.
This time the story centers around the McGowan brother, Trent, and Addy Collins.
Trent and his brothers have returned home after the passing of their beloved father, and have made a successful oil business, even better.
Addy, an environmentalist, and native of Haven, MT, has come back to protest any possible damage the McGowan company might be doing to the environment.
Personally, she has known Trent , at least from afar, most of her life. The crush she had on him was never divulged, especially since she was not in his “inner circle”. But now , he sees her, for what she is , what she does and not only her outside beauty but also her inside one.
The plot is engaging, with many sub-plots, and the characters are complex. You will find suspense, vandalism, and of course romance. You will also get a chance to visit with some of the characters from book 1 in the series.
All that said, what I liked most in the story, was the author’s presentation of the complexities of families. Not only the interaction between them but also how one’s upbringing, will affect not only the child but also the adult they become.
At the end , some questions were left unsolved, but by no means it’s a cliffhanger. Ms Sanders gives us a conclusion you will be happy with, though the road to happiness was a bumpy one.
I was gifted this copy by Netgalley. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

This is a book in Jill Sanders' Haven, Montana series. It is a good stand alone story. Addy Collins is an environmentalist who was born and lived in Haven, Montana until she was old enough to go out on her own. Addy has returned working for an environmental group trying to stop businesses from polluting the earth. Trent McGowan is running his father's oil company with his brothers and Addy has been sent to find out why they were buying a large tract of land and what they were going to with it. Addy takes an interest in Trent to see if she can find out what's going on. The problem is that Addy had a crush on Trent when they were younger and he paid no attention to her. Accordingly Addy takes a just friends attitude with getting to know Trent. As the romance heats up the reader learns Addy's feelings are fueled by how her parents treated her growing up. She also envies Trent's large family and their loving relationship. Things start to go wrong as first Addy's car gets blown up, Addy fights with a former girlfriend, someone from the environmental group is up to no good, etc. There's also a wedding being planned for one of Trent's brothers. There's more and the storyline moves along quickly through all kinds of situations. The story comes to a satisfactory conclusion and there are no loose ends to tie up with this storyline but of course there's more to come from the town of Haven, Montana.

The second book in this series and in this one Adrianna an environmentalist who was also in the first book comes home to protest and find out what Trent and his family are going to do with some land that they bought. The rumor is oil and that is why the protest, but growing up in the area her group thinks she might be able to find out more. The problem with that whole thought is Trent has always liked her and finds ways to spend time with her. This makes her feel good but also adds her to the lists of attacks that keep happening to the family, she also is worried about her job with the protest group. In the middle of all of that she is dealing with a family problem that becomes much more than it starts out as and adding that with Trent and his family you have a good book. The characters are good, you find out a lot about Adrianna and her family, but you still do not find out who has been causing all of the destruction that has been going on since the first book. That is my only negative in the whole thing. Overall a good story. I received this book from Netgalley.com I gave it 4 stars. Follow us at www.1rad-readerreviews.com

This is the second book in this series. I will admit I was sort of confused when the first book ended. I felt it ended abruptly with a cliff hanger. Well no confusion, it did leave a cliff hanger.

The McGowan brothers are each finding their niche in their father’s business after his death. Someone is making it very hard for them to move forward. There is drunk Uncle Carl with a large chip. Dennis, who kidnapped Kristen, but all the evidence has now gone up in smoke - as in arson. Then Brian, who is just mean.

Addy is an environmentalist trying to stop fracking. She’s known Trent since school but he dated any one but her. Trent who has eyed Addy since school but always thought she was to good for him. Even though she is on the opposite side of the picket line with the McGowan’s there is trust.

The story sort of swings left and you aren’t sure what is going to happen. Addy’s dad dies and suddenly she doesn’t have a clue what she wants to do with her life. Will she stay or leave?

Dennis and Carl make some threats at the end. Trey, brother number 3, is up next, surprisingly no female character has been introduced. Who is out to destroy the McGowan’s?

I received Never Let Go in a Goodreads giveaway in exchange for my honest opinion.

Never Let Go is the second book in the Haven, Montana series and focuses on Addy and Trent. Addy is an activist who hasn't exactly decided what she wants in life and Trent is part of the family of the oil drilling that Addy and her group are protesting. Addy and Trent grew up together, each having a crush on the other unbeknownst to each other until years later. Now that life gives them a chance to explore what is between them, both Addy and Trent find exactly what they have always wanted.

There is a mystery in Never Let Go that seems to spread throughout the series that pulled me in. (I have only read this book in the series, but plan on going back and reading the first and any to follow.) This helps add another layer to the typical romance and makes the reader what to read on in the series to see what the cause of everything has been, or who.

I really liked Never Let Go and would recommend it to any romance lover who wants a quick read with a hint of mystery and a lot of feels.

I read the first three in the "Pride" series a while back and quite liked them as a lightweight read except for the excessive use of “enjoy”:
Book #1 Finding Pride - 76 times.
Book #2 Discovering Pride - 77 times.
Book #3 Returning Pride - a truly staggering 104 times.
By the third book just the reading word was giving me the same reaction as fingernails on a blackboard.
I hoped that few years on Ms Sanders might have extended her vocabulary so took a chance at £1.00 each and bought books 1 & 2 of the “Haven, Montana” series but oh dear there is that word again, only 46 times in the first book and 44 times in this second one. So yes it could be seen as an improvement but THAT word drove me crazy. The story isn’t that great either and the sex scenes feel like they have been included to pad out the book. I got just past half way and decided that enough was enough. I doubt I will read any more titles by Jill Sanders, I have a couple more free downloads but suspect they will remain unread.

I am really liking this series. This book left me with questions that I am sure will be answered in Trey's story. Addy came back to town and was not happy about it. She doesn't have a good relationship with her parents and then Trent keeps paying attention to her. She knows he and his brothers are players. Trent dated all the girls in town but her and she isn't about to get involved with him now. Trent had left Addy alone because she is so much better than he is. She deserves better. Addy is trying to find out what his family is up to and Trent is trying to find out what Addy's group are up to so they are spending quite a bit of time together.
