One ship could revolutionize submarine warfare as we know it: the USS Snare. A robotic combat sub carrying no crew, the Snare has proven unbeatable in sea trials. And now it has fallen into the hands of an unseen enemy.
The Snare’s first casualty: the nuclear sub carrying the son of former admiral Michael Pacino. The only man who can match wits with the SnarePacino reenters the game in a high-tech underwater battle unlike any that’s been fought before, one that could engulf the world in war—and bring him face-to-face with his nemesis…
Michael DiMercurio is an honors graduate of the Naval Academy at Annapolis, and has served as a paratrooper, Navy diver, and as a lieutenant and Chief Propulsion Officer aboard the U.S.S. Hammerhead.
Exciting action but too unbelievable for my tastes. Also we are back to one sub being able to defeat entire navies by itself. A little too much of the stars of the book having miraculous recoveries.
My first (and last) book by this author. Maybe I should have read them in order, as there were various references to things that happened previously. I guess that they were in earlier books. Way too much technical stuff going on, which I found boring and a few unbelievable things that happened. So page 50 was enough for me. Won't bother with any more
Interesting plots. Jumps around too much between events and characters. Half submarine book and half engineering manual. But overall an interesting volume with some linear thinking on future developments.
