Falling for Mr. Wrong #1

Falling for Mr. Wrong

Rate this book
If lusting after him is wrong, she doesn’t want to be right…

Harper Landry sometimes feels like she’s turned into a professional dater. Which might not be such a bad job if it didn’t involve having to spend so much time with a succession of truly undesirable men who were obviously still single for good reason.

So she’s elated when she ends up on a blind date with the charming and handsome Danny Greevy, a man who seems too good to be true. But Harper’s starting to think that too good to be true might be downright perfect for her. Particularly when the man who launched her man-drought shows up as her Uber driver.

Noah Gunderson is back in town after traveling the world for the past several years. Forced to return home after promising his mother on her deathbed to save the beloved inn that she’d nearly run into the ground, he’s planning to get far away from Verity Beach just as soon as he’s got the inn back in the black. And he’s determined not to let the distraction of Harper Landry, the one that got away, keep him here a moment longer.

crap...

I always try to be "considerate" when reading the second-chance romances, trying to take a different perspective, take all things and circumstances into account...

BUT

somehow I always end up thinking : fuck, damn, he DIDN'T grovel hard enough!!!
he DIDN'T explain his reasons in a more acceptable way...

so, fuck this "being considerate" shit, we all have our issues, problems, insecurities and shit and we don't just hit to road when the going gets tough...so, fuck it all, I don't forgive him...I'm a vindictive bitch and I don't give a shit about his reasons...or whatsoever...

so, the next time this happens in a second-chance romance book:
"You took my world away from me. You and I had been together forever. It was always Harper and Noah. Noah and Harper. But then it was bye-bye Noah and to a certain extent bye-bye Harper. I didn't even know who I was. I was so lost without you. And heartbroken. And insulted. And truly disrespected. You didn't have the common decency to include me in your decision-making.

cause just to state things clear - Harper and Noah were together forever, highschool sweethearts, and in college, he just left, without a word, without an explanation. Leaving a void, vague note.
"Sorry, I hope you can forgive me?!"
and four years later, he's back and he wants her back, the only love of his life.

Seriously?!

even though, we find out his reasons, I don't care, considering they were together for so long, he should have fuckin talked to her about his issues...things could have end up different.
Maybe they would grow apart, maybe they would give each other space...who knows, it could have been more fair and well, considerate...
BUT
since this is all about forgivness, I suppose this was the only way this book could have ended.

BUT it doesn't mean I like it. Cause I don't. And since there wasn't enough groveling, there was no point for me to root for this couple to find their way back to each other...in fact

look how much consideration fucks I give!!!

I read book two in this series before I read this one. So I sort of knew a couple of things that happened, but it was still a really funny book. This one is about Georgie's boss Harper. Now here's a girl who is running through the blind date disaster list like a pro sprinter, and when she finally hits a guys she thinks has potential, guess who shows up? Her ex-boyfriend is the present Uber driver taking her current date and her to their destination.

That was a really funny situation. I also enjoyed getting to know the reason behind Noah ditching Harper, who he still considers the love of his life, all those years ago. What I liked about the story was that it was simple. There were no huge complications making characters act in a certain manner. It was just runaway emotions that they were trying to deal with. I found the language filled with colloquial fun. The story interesting, although somewhat predictable.

There were some scenes that I really enjoyed. Like the time when Noah is baby sitting his nephew Tyler. I can just imagine the horror on baby Tyler's mother's face when she saw half the stuff they did. I also enjoyed the way Danny was demoted from prospective boyfriend to two timing cheat. All in all it was a good read. Looking forward to reading the third book in the series.

The story started off well, but then fell a little flat for me. I didn't find the characters engaging and I got really annoyed with how easily the girl jumped straight back into bed with the ex who left her for what turns out to be, in my opinion, a really crappy reason. I felt the story didnt flow that well either, which left the sex scene feeling a little false and not passionate at all. Definitely not my cup of tea.

Harper Landry and Noah Gunderson had been together since high school and were deeply in love. Noah was going to go off to college soon. He left, but never said a word to Harper about where he was going or what he was doing. Harper was heart broken and it took her a long time to to get back to life. She is on a date and calls an Uber to take them to the date’s house and the driver is Noah. She had no idea he was back in town and he didn’t want to see her for the first time like this. The plan to win her back is starting.

I felt bad how hard she took Noah’s leaving and how hard it was to get out dating again. There were some funny, but awful dates she went on. Noah could have handled leaving better, but who knows how we will act until it happens. Noah was sweet with his nephew that helped melt my heart. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader’s Copy of this book.

Falling For Mr. Wrong is the first book in a brand new series by Jenny Gardiner. It is connected to her outstanding series Royal Romeos. You'll reconize leading lady Harper Landry as the best friend of Allie Ledbetter from Big O Romeo.

Now this new series starts out with a bang if you ask me. I sat down to read the first chapter and suddenly found myself turning the last page. Harper is trying to recover from a heartbreak that would rattle any woman's confidence. The steady stream of bad blind dates isn't helping her. Than an Uber ride upends her life as she lays eyes on the driver and cause of all her heart break... To bad she's headed home with the first non horrible blind date she's had.

Noah knows he screwed up with Harper all those years ago. Seeing Harper before he was prepared, headed home with another man proves he's got a lot to come back from. Can he?

Noah Gunderson is the reason Harper Landry hasn't wanted to date since high school when Noah did her wrong. Only recently has Harper has been getting back in the game. A game she is coming up zero. She has the worse luck finding a decent date. After graduation, Noah disappeared without a word to Harper. Harper was devastated when Noah deserted her with so much as a good-bye. Now Noah is back and he wants to win Harper back but she wants nothing to do with him. Once again Ms. Gardiner has written a poignant love story with an HEA. This is a book that you will definitely enjoy reading I know that I did.

This was Harper & Noah's story... Harper is trying to find Mr. Right but ends up finding Noah instead... Her ex who had abandoned her years before without explanation or warning.

It was really hard to like this book, since Noah's behavior was not really explained & Harper just seemed ready to fall for him without him saying a word about the past. It was hard to have respect for her, especially since she didn't seem to have respect for herself to protect her own feelings & emotions. If Noah's departure had a better explanation, this would probably have helped, but panicking over something his brother was going through fell short a bit...

I was given a free copy of this book, and I voluntarily left this review.

I was privileged to receive this book as an advanced copy & am choosing to review it voluntarily and this is my honest review.. This is only my second book that I have read from Jenny Gardiner ,I read the second book first lol, just proves you can read it as a standalone. The captivating characters of Harper and Noah had such chemistry which is instantaneous and sizzling hot. An absolutely a well written romance story, which is entertaining, fun, sexy, a truly unique love story. I felt i was drawn into the story and could not put it down. sorry I got to the end need to read book 3 now. Thank you Jenny for a fantastic read.:)

Once again, Jenny Gardiner presents us with a great and fun story.
Harper is back on a blind date, trying to fill her love life after being abandoned by her longtime boyfriend, and when she meets up with Danny Greevy, things are too good to be true.
When the meeting has everything to end well, the ex-boyfriend appears, and that's where things get really interesting.
Noah had his reasons for abandoning Harper and all his old life, but now he is willing to win her back. And his attempts are really fun.
I loved the story, I'm anxious for the next book in this series.

Begun and done much like the character's relationship, with an extra begun thrown in for good measure. Short stories are a mixed bag and generally leave me wanting more, such is the case here. I wanted more detail to their past history (his reasons for leaving were beyond juvenile), more time to know them as they are now, more space between the hookups...and for me, less dirty talk. It's fine and dandy that the sparks fly when they're together, but I prefer a little more build up versus constant pyrotechnic show. Still, a good story for an afternoon quickie...read. ;)

Cute second chance.

Noah and Harper had been a "we" until Noah suddenly left without a word. Harper's dating again when Noah shows up in town. This is a cute, fun story; short with a few chapters of two other novels included.
There's not a lot of description which was fine; it made the story flow more smoothly. Harper can't deny the chemistry between herself and Noah despite trying to convince him otherwise. It's fun to watch her try to find another man to get Noah off her mind.
There's not much said about Harper's business. It would be good to hear more.

This is a sweet, fun romance that I thoroughly enjoyed reading. Noah and Harper had been together from when they were teens, up until the moment that Noah just up and left without any warning. When fate puts them back together, Noah doesn't want to lose a chance with Harper, but doesn't know what to say to her or how to make it up to her.

Fans of the genre will enjoy this book and want to put it at the top of their TBR list. The author is on my must read authors' list.

Another fun read from Jenny Gardiner. A romance with a twist. Harper was hurt and rejected by Noah, she is finally getting back into the dating world when she meets up with Noah while going to her dates home for a nightcap. This is where the fun starts. Noah is trying to get her back and she wants nothing to do with him. However she still feels the sexual pull. Love reading the byplay between those two. Would recommend this book to everyone who loves a fun, sexy read.

Fighting the inevenable.

Harper fights her feelings for years for Noah and just when she thinks she is ready to get back out in the world of dating Noah returns. Should she run in the opposite direction? Is there a way to live in the same town together? Enjoyed how they found the answer.

This is the first book in the brand new series Falling for Mr. Wrong by Jenny Gardiner. The book is a stand alone short story that is humorous, has no cliff hanger, contains drama and a somewhat HEA. IMO, the book started and ended the same, with no depth! And the ending was so abrupt it left you wanting more information.

Cute novela

Short and sweet story where two hearts meet, fall in love, and then one splits and the other is devastated. Four years later it's a hate to love or second chance at finding a possible happy ever after. No cheating or cliffhanger. Overall quality of writing was ok with a few glitches in proofreading.

Skip this one

I’m glad I didn’t pay for this book because it was just awful. Noah just up and disappeared after years of being with Harper with no explanation to her except a note saying it’s not you it’s me & I love you. He comes back 4 years later with a dumb excuse for leaving. Harper hates him but let’s him have sex with her on several occasions. It was pathetic.

Tongue in cheek humor with a bit of romance tossed in.

Harper Landry has suffered through more lousy blinds dates than any two women should have to, only to end up with a bunch of toads and no prince's. When her ex who absconded out of the blue shows back up in her life after four years of dead silence she's not sure whether to kill him or jump him.

super predictable

I liked the two of them but I feel like naked confessions time seems super awkward and unrealistic. I know what it’s like to take an ex back and nothing good comes of it, even if they grovel and make promises. I would have just used him for his hose and let him go.

Harper was understandable devastated when Noah disappeared. Now he is back and she will not give him the time of day. All Noah wants to do is talk to her, but she continually pushes him away. She is also very quick to jump to the worst conclusions. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

It’s interesting but something went wrong after starting ch 19, every lines r talking in third person, not H or N anymore, however, just two of them, things got weird, maybe she really wrote the senes with the writer’s eyes.

This was a quick read. I took a chance on this book because it was set in North Carolina. It is the first book I have ever read by this author. I had a hard time enjoying the story because I wanted to yell at Harper and Noah to get their crap together.
