2.5 stars.
I only read this because the author said that there was no ow drama and no cheating.
This hero was a pathetic excuse of a man, instead of fighting for his marriage he gave up, gave her a divorce and after a year he went on date with another woman kissed her in front of the heroine. Is that supposed to make me believe he's in love with the heroine? Or pining after her? No it doesn't. Sure his thoughts were like he was pining after the heroine but his action said other. He said that he didn't want a divorce and that he tried to fight with the divorce settlement but nothing happened. He didn't went after her, he just gave up.
Heroine is weak and a liar. And she's the one who goes after him. Sure she's the one who asked for a divorce but neither of them fought for their marriage. Just like him she just gave up sure she has a reason and I wouldn't said its a good reason because instead of talking to the hero she decided
Hey why not asked him for a divorce? Just weak.
I spend the whole book getting pissed and more pissed.
I think my blood pressure went through the roof reading this train wreck.
And those flashbacks did not faired well for the hero. He acted like a damn asshole when he found out that she lied about her age. I get that he was mad and he only married her because she was pregnant with his baby and during their marriage he only told her once that he loved her and that was when she asked for a divorce.
Also in those flashbacks he blames her for defending herself against his father like I said before he's pathetic excuse for a man instead of having a dick he has mangina.
He only grew cojones after 52% and started defending her against his father, too little too late if you asked me.
He also acted like a damn jackass, he went to her house to tell her that she couldn't go out on date with another man but he sure can date and kiss other women in front of heroine and the heroine was just going on that date to get him jealous and too get him back if you ask me it's just plain stupid she should have started to move on just like he was doing but she just like him a pathetic excuse for a woman.
After reading Something Worth Saving I think I expected the same, both MCs fighting for their marriage and not two stupid people acting like little kids.
These two didn't love each other in my opinion, he only married her because she was pregnant and she lied to him and he spend the duration of their marriage holding it against her (his words, not mine).

Two stars simply because her brothers beat the shit out of Luca when he was an ass...would have been 5 stars had they done that throughout the whole book because he def deserved it.
Sooo disappointed in Luca and Ida Sue! Petal wasn't the best but she did try to own up to her mistakes. Luca was weak and I lost all respect for Ida Sue. 😞
Two things that I must point out -
1 - having a screaming match and fighting does not...I repeat DOES NOT lead to sex. They weren't fighting because they were wound up sexually, they were fighting because they were genuinely pissed at each other! Now tell me if I'm wrong BUT sex is the last thing on my mind when I'm pissed!
2 - please for the love of God do NOT let the secretary end up with one of the Crayons! I hate it when a heroine hs to put up with the OW being around because the OW ends up with someone the h is close to...just NO!

What a useless POS Luke was!! He spends more than half the book blaming her for the end of their marriage. All because she lied about her age. Everything was Petal's fault and he was blameless. Then he's all butt hurt about how she never told him what was really going on. At what point in their marriage did she ever feel like he loved her and would always have her back? I know. Never! Not once during their marriage did he ever tell her he loved her. Then When he finally does tell her he does (wait for it because it doesn't happen until 75% or so), it's more like a 'oops did I not tell you' and they all carry on like it's no big deal.
Are you fucking kidding me?! Why is it when Petal makes a mistake, she is raked over the fucking coals for years, but when Luka fucks up, we get maybe a page or two or his thoughts of 'oops, I fucked up' and maybe a couple of paragraphs in conversation clearing it up and everything is great again??!! What the hell did Petal even see in Luka anyway? He was such a weak shit, petal would've been better off staying divorced and finding a man who actually believed her, loved her and showed her that every day. Luka is supposed to be nearly 30, but Petal at 22 was way more mature than him.
I was going to rate this 3 stars but I hate how Petal pretty much told Luka it was her fault too and she should keep taking the blame for how things ended. Why? Why does she need to do that? She's been taking the blame for YEARS!! it was about time he started owning up to his shit instead of piling it all on Petal the martyr. I hated how she pretty much rolled over for him because she was so desperate to be loved, she was willing to put up with all the shit he served her way.
What could've been a really great second chance story was ruined by the hero. He never redeemed himself. Nor did he take responsibility for his part until the end, but by then, Petal just wanted him back and so we never really got to see how truly remorseful he was and see him work to get his wife back.
Ugh! There was so much more that pissed me off about him but I've wasted too much time on this character. This series is definitely not for me if this is how the 'heroes' are. I think I'll re-read 'Beast' and 'Beauty' so I can get the bad taste of this book outta my mouth!!

I started reading and I ended up giving up because the heroes are too stupid for my taste.

Adorable
Just like all of Jordan Marie's books I thoroughly enjoyed this one. Jordan's sense of humor really comes out in this book and I love it.
I'm seriously a sucker for second chance romances' and this book is my favorite kind. I love second chance marriages and that's what this book it. Petal and Luka are both still madly in love with each other but that past still haunts them. For Luka it's all the lies Petal has told and for Petal it's threats from Lukas father. I really enjoyed watching them overcome their problems and become a family again.
One of the things I really loved was the flashbacks to the past, it helps show just how far each of them has come maturity wise. That was really needed because it showed that they didn't have a good marriage, and they had gotten married for all the wrong reasons. But once the couple comes together for the right reasons ypou see how good they are together and how much love that have for each other.
Again I really enjoyed this one a lot. 4 stars from me.

Petal e Luka erano la coppia che sognavo fin da quando ho scoperto i Lucas Brothers. In gran segreto, ma nemmeno troppo, avevo una cotta per loro. Tifavo per i sentimenti e la storia che si supponeva poteva venirsi a creare...
Aspettative altissime, neanche a dirlo!
Petal sogna Luka da quando è praticamente una bambina. Black, suo fratello, l'ha conosciuto al corso di addestramento di polizia e da quel momento Luka entra in casa Lucas.
Lei a sedici anni, lui è più grande.
Quando ne ha diciassette si sposano, hanno un bambino e adesso, che di anni ne ha ventidue e ha lasciato andare il legame e l'amore che la legano a Luka, si rende conto di quanto avrebbe potuto combattere.
Perché una cosa è certa: si è arresa.
Ormai ciò che li lega è River, loro figlio, ed ogni briciola di conversazione è dedicata a lui. Anche se Petal vorrebbe poter tornare a parlare di ogni cosa, di confidarsi, mantiene il loro dialogo su River e basta, anche se vive per quelle conversazioni spicciole che si tengono a fine giornata.
Luka, dal canto suo, è combattuto per i suoi sentimenti contrastanti verso Petal. La ama, l'ha sempre amata e quella connessione non la trova con nessun'altra persona. Lui aveva provato ad abbattere il muro di bugie che Petal aveva costruito intorno al loro matrimonio, ha provato ad avvicinarsi nuovamente a lei. Ma lei non glielo ha permesso. Anche se lei è la donna che gli fa saltare un battito di cuore al minuto quando lo guarda, è anche colei che l'ha spezzato.
Si sono frantumati il cuore a vicenda.
I paragrafi nei capitoli si alternano tra passato e presente. Quelli al passato sono brevi, concisi e spediti; di solito, non li amo ma questi li ho adorati proprio perché rapidi e veloci da leggere, mi sono arrivate le emozioni leggendo poche azioni.
La scrittura di Jordan Marie è così. Diretta, semplice e senza giri di parole. Io la amo per questo. I suoi libri sono frizzanti e sentimentali allo stesso tempo.
Pur raccontando una storia matura, che parla di un matrimonio naufragato per diverse ragioni e tanti sbagli da parte di entrambi, è comunque scritto con una vena scorrevole.
Il pov alternato facilita la comprensione da ambedue le parti protagoniste e Jordan Marie non smette mai di ricordarci (e incuriosirci) degli altri fratelli pastello e sorelle fiore!
Ho un debole per le storie in cui i protagonisti condividono un matrimonio, tutta la fase della conoscenza è superata, si tratterà più di una riscoperta.
Ciò che lega Petal e Luka è un passato pieno di risentimento e scelte sbagliate.
Una protagonista che avrà la sua rivalsa. Perché Petal è cambiata, e nel momento in cui decide di rimettersi in gioco per conquistare Luka, ogni insicurezza sparisce. Le si arrossano ancora le guance, ma la sua carica e la voglia che ha di stare insieme a Luka la faranno veramente abbandonare a lui sotto ogni aspetto.
Se una parte di me ha apprezzato che Petal e Luka passando nuovamente del tempo insieme si scoprissero, l'altra non ne era completamente convinta. Come è possibile che non si conosca il carattere di una persona pur essendoci sposato e convivendo per diversi anni? È stato un po' surreale, anche se l'autrice me l'ha data a bere come se Petal nascondesse la sua vera natura, ma non so se sia stato realmente convincente.
È una storia matura quella che ci viene raccontata da Jordan Marie ne “Il sentiero felice”, i protagonisti si conoscono già, hanno un passato e un figlio che li accomuna. Io amo le storie di questo tipo con protagonisti sposati e/o che sono già stati insieme in passato, sono più rare ed è, a mio parere, molto più difficile raccontarle. Non c’è la scintilla del primo sguardo, il primo bacio ed ogni cosa che profuma di rosa. C’è la paura di ricadere nei gesti sbagliati del passato, c’è la fiducia che deve ancora sanarsi, c’è l’attrazione ma anche la consapevolezza di ciò che si conosce.

Sur 4 tomes lus au moment où je vous rédige cette chronique, je peux vous dire qu'il est mon préféré de la saga jusqu'ici. J'ai fondu d'amour pour les deux protagonistes : Petal (la première sœur de la famille Lucas qui a droit à son tome) et Luka (ouais, l'autrice s'est foulée pour les prénoms 😂). On est là sur un trope de seconde chance oscillant entre amour fou plein de sentiments et retrouvailles physiques so spiiiicy. 🔥 Un combo qui fonctionne pas mal du tout, et qui m'a séduite.⠀

Pour vous en dire plus sur l'histoire, nous alternons les points de vue des deux héros. Ils se sont profondément aimés, se sont mariés et ont eu un enfant. Pourtant, quand on les rencontre, ils sont divorcés...mais toujours secrètement amoureux l'un de l'autre. Pour espérer un avenir ensemble, Petal et Luka vont devoir s'affranchir du passé, se pardonner leurs erreurs et prendre soin l'un de l'autre...⠀

Et j'ai trouvé ça très bien fait, très beau, très fort. Ce sont les personnages qui m'ont le plus touchés et je me suis vraiment amourachée de ces deux-là. Dans ce tome-ci, le pouvoir de la famille est à son paroxysme et les liens fraternels m'ont énormément plu ! Le lien de haine entre Ida Sue et Luka, ainsi que sa résolution ont clairement apporté un plus à l'histoire. ⠀

I think this has GOT TO BE my favorite Lucas story to date.
It has all the laughs and feels, but also deals with some serious topics that only a GREAT author can attack and still stay with the flow of the entire series!!!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, Luka and Petals story, we got bits and pieces of their story with the other books in the series, but Jordan Marie nailed all the feelings to their own story.
I must admit I was a little angry with Ida Sue, but true to form, I ended up loving her even more by the time I finished Happy Trail.
I loved getting to see the rest of the Lucas clan and also a little more of Ida Sue' story to really know how she is the way she is!!
I can't wait to see what else is in store for this colorful family!!!

5 STARS!
As a huge fan of Jordan Marie's, I've truly enjoyed seeing her spread her wings from her MC romance roots. The Lucas Brothers series is a big departure for her into romantic comedies and contemporary romance. I've found the stories in this series to be funny, entertaining and sexy, and if ever there was proof that an author need not be pigeon-holed, here it is.
Happy Trail is more of a contemporary romance whereas the first two books in the series were romantic comedies. A second-chance romance, Luka and Petal's story is one of first loves gone wildly wrong. What began with a teenage girl in love's lie, had far greater consequences than she ever anticipated and wound up in a rushed marriage that neither of them were truly mature enough or ready for. This couple had so many issues stacked up against them that sometimes I wondered if they would make it over those hurdles, but in true Jordan Marie fashion, she was in the zone with this difficult-to-tell love story. Seemingly insurmountable odds, anger, resentment commingling with love and sizzling chemistry is exactly the type of story that this author excels in telling.
As a huge fan of Jordan Marie's, I've truly enjoyed seeing her spread her wings from her MC romance roots. The Lucas Brothers series is a big departure for her into romantic comedies and contemporary romance. I've found the stories in this series to be funny, entertaining and sexy, and if ever there was proof that an author need not be pigeon-holed, here it is.
Happy Trail is more of a contemporary romance whereas the first two books in the series were romantic comedies. A second-chance romance, Luka and Petal's story is one of first loves gone wildly wrong. What began with a teenage girl in love's lie, had far greater consequences than she ever anticipated and wound up in a rushed marriage that neither of them were truly mature enough or ready for. Another winner by the brilliant Jordan Marie!!! This is Petal and Luka's story and it isn't all pretty. In this book we have flash backs of when Petal and Luka first got together which helps you understand why these two marriage didn't work out the first time. Too young & immature , she was only 16(petal) Luka was deceived and hurt, blind to anything else bc of it. Horrific family drama and non communication caused these two to break up. Thank goodness love prevails, good wins over evil and family always sticks together, well this family does.
I love the Lucas family, also the Parish( Luka,River and Petal). Ida Sue just makes me laugh, smile and sometimes roll my eyes but she is always entertaining!
I don't know if I've laughed, loved and been this entertained reading about family and friends since Kristen Ashley 's Rock Chick series or Kristen Proby's With Me In Seattle series. If you loved those or haven't read them , when your done with Jordan Marie 's books check them out!

Happy Trail is the third book in the Lucas Brothers series and its actually Petal's Book. We meet Petal in the second book and learn more about what has happened in her life but we don't get to actually hear what happened between her and Luka.
We get snippets of the past throughout the first part if the book and this tells us what happens between the two and why their relationship broke up the first time.
This book is so full of heartache and from the get go I felt so bad for these two. I so wanted them to have their happy ending.
I love the crayon family and can't wait for more in the series.

Dopo aver conosciuto Gray in - Il ritmo perfetto - e White in - Cuore in tempesta - è arrivato il momento di conoscere la storia dedicata a una delle sorelle Lucas, Lotus Petal e Luka Parish, il suo ex marito.
Nei primi due capitoli della serie abbiamo avuto modo di conoscere entrambi ed era evidente che non fosse veramente finita tra i due, e che dietro quella rottura si nascondessero delle ragioni più complesse.
Petal si trascina addosso il peso di un errore commesso quando era solo una ragazzina di sedici anni, e alla soglia dei venti ne continua a pagare le conseguenze.
Era ancora troppo giovane, troppo inesperta quando ha capito di essere follemente innamorata di Luka Parish. Niente di strano, se non fosse che Luka è parecchio più grande di lei; è un uomo fatto e finito in procinto di iniziare una carriera nei servizi speciali insieme a suo fratello Black. Nonostante la sostanziale differenza di età, Petal vuole conquistarlo a tutti i costi, e per evitare che lui la rifiuti decide di mentire sulla sua identità fingendosi la sorella maggiore.
"L’ho saputo dal momento in cui la sua mano si è tesa e mi ha toccato per la prima volta, dal momento in cui le sue dita si sono strette per la prima volta alle mie… che quella era la mano che avrei voluto tenere per tutta la vita. L'intesa è immediata e entrambi sembrano essere coinvolti allo stesso modo, ma c'è ancora quel tarlo che la tormenta, quella bugia bianca detta a fin di bene che non le permette di vivere quell'amore come vorrebbe. Si odia per aver mentito a Luka, ma in quel momento pensava fosse la cosa giusta da fare senza pensare alle conseguenze. Una gravidanza inaspettata però complicherà il tutto e Petal sarà costretta a rivelare la verità a Luka. Il giovane non la prende affatto bene, ma verrà spinto dal senso di responsabilità e deciderà comunque di sposarla, andando contro il volere delle famiglie di entrambi.
Un matrimonio nato sotto una cattiva stella il loro, costruito su fondamenta troppo fragili per poter sopravvivere alle continue influenze esterne: da una parte, Ida Sue, e dall'altra il suocero, che continueranno a mettere zizzania. Queste continue pressioni costringeranno Petal a prendere la dolorosa decisione di porre fine al loro matrimonio.
Un anno dopo aver detto addio all'uomo che amava e che non ha mai smesso di amare, Petal vorrebbe ricominciare a vivere la sua vita, così come vorrebbe farlo Luka, ma nessuno dei due riesce a voltare pagina. A unirli non è solo il piccolo River, ma qualcosa di più profondo, qualcosa di speciale, che nemmeno la lontananza è riuscita a scalfire. Riusciranno ad andare oltre al rancore, oltre alle bugie che per troppo tempo hanno condizionato il loro rapporto?
Senza Petal, sto lentamente morendo dentro, e non sembra che la situazione possa migliorare. Pensavo che il tempo mi avrebbe guarito, ma un anno dopo eccomi qua, ancora dietro a una donna che mi ha mentito e mi ha lasciato. Non riesco a desiderare niente altro che la mia famiglia unita. Ma devo accettare che non tornerà mai a esserlo. Avrei dovuto arrendermi e andare avanti già da un pezzo.

La Jordan continua a sorprendermi; ero convinta che dopo la storia tra White e Kayla - che ho adorato - non potesse superarsi e invece mi ha fregata. LOL!!
Ho adorato ogni singola pagina.
Il sentiero felice è un romanzo di crescita, nel quale la componente emotiva occupa un ruolo fondamentale nell'intera storia.
Sia Luka che Petal sono due personaggi imperfetti, ma è questa imperfezione a renderli reali, tridimensionali. Sono due ragazzi che devono fare i conti ogni giorno con le conseguenze delle loro azioni, e lo detestano. Entrambi, anche se in maniera differente hanno commesso degli errori nel gestire il loro rapporto.
Petal è una giovane donna distrutta, che ha sofferto e continua a soffrire per aver perso l'amore della sua vita; ma la paura ha vinto su tutto e ha gettato le armi. Si è arresa alla crudeltà, si arresa al potere. Cosa avrebbe potuto fare altrimenti? del resto, noi donne abbiamo la tendenza a sacrificare noi stesse per il bene delle persone che amiamo, e Petal ha fatto esattamente questo: ha sacrificato se stessa e il suo amore per Luka.
Luka l'ho amato e odiato allo stesso tempo; se nel suo lavoro si mostra un uomo forte e determinato, non si può dire lo stesso per la sua vita privata; nonostante amasse la sua Lo, si è lasciato sopraffare dalla rabbia e dall'orgoglio. Si è fossilizzato su quell'unico errore da lei commesso, riversandole addosso tutto il suo risentimento. Non è mai riuscito a vederla sul serio, non ha mai capito quanto in realtà soffrisse, quanto fosse doloroso per lei subire la rabbia e il disprezzo di chi avrebbe dovuto amarla.
Dovranno imparare a perdonarsi, a fidarsi l'uno dell'altra, ma più di ogni altra cosa dovranno combattere insieme l'uno accanto all'altra, solo così riusciranno a sconfiggere i demoni che per anni gli hanno dato il tormento.
Un percorso di crescita doloroso e intenso li attenderà, ma solo riscoprendosi, solo intensificando il loro legame potranno superare gli ostacoli della vita.
L'unione fa la forza e loro impareranno ad essere uniti, ad essere finalmente quella famiglia che avrebbe dovuto essere sin dal principio.
Ida Sue si riconferma una vera bomba, una forza della natura, che vi strapperà mille risate con le sue battute irriverenti e piuttosto sconce, ma in questo volume scoprirete un altro aspetto della sua personalità, quella più fragile, legata al suo doloroso passato.
Non mi resta che consigliarlo e spero di poter leggere presto il volume dedicato a Black.

Ritorna la famiglia più colorata e profumata dei libri, questa volta saranno Lotus Petal e il sexy sceriffo Luka Parish a raccontarci la loro storia. Le pagine di questo libro profumano della passione tra i due protagonisti, dell’amore che si respira in questa grande famiglia sopra le righe, ma anche di paura e di odio. Tra queste pagine troverete non solo solo profumi, ma anche tanti colori – i Lucas li chiamo la banda dei pastelli!- il rosso dell’amore e della passione, il nero dell’odio ed il grigio della paura, tutta una gamma di colori e profumi che la storia di Lotus e Luka, vi faranno provare se solo gliene darete la possibilità.
Questi due protagonisti assieme fanno fuoco e fiamme, camminano in equilibrio su di un filo a causa del loro passato, ma non possono evitare di protendersi l’una verso l’altro cercando di afferrarsi per mano, la voglia e la paura di ricostruire un rapporto finito in un divorzio doloroso. Divorzio causato in parte dalle bugie sulle quali è stato costruito il loro matrimonio, in parte colpa della loro immaturità ed in parte, anzi in gran parte, dalle ingerenze del padre di lui, uomo davvero meschino. Sono una coppia, nonostante siano separati, che cerca di essere presente e di collaborare per cercare di dare tranquillità ed amore a loro figlio, River.
Mi è piaciuta molto Lotus, innamoratasi da giovanissima di Luka, ha fatto tutto quanto è stato in suo potere per conquistarlo, e proprio questo è parte dei problemi che hanno portato al divorzio. La sua giovanissima età e la sua mancanza d’esperienza l’hanno resa facile preda delle manipolazioni altrui, ma dopo quanto successo è maturata (nonostante rimanga giovane), è diventata più saggia, ma soprattutto più forte. E l’amore che prova per il figlio e per l’ex le danno la forza di provare a ricostruire la sua famiglia.
Ho amato Luka, nonostante abbia cercato in tutti i modi di dimenticare Lotus. Nonostante si sia comportato in modo infantile lasciando che il risentimento nei confronti della ex moglie gli ottenebrasse la mente, si è crogiolato nell’autocommiserazione lasciando che il suo matrimonio finisse anche a causa delle interferenze altrui. Mi sarei aspettata un diverso comportamento da parte sua essendo “l’adulto” nella coppia, a volte lo avrei preso scrolloni, fortunatamente comprenderà gli sbagli fatti in passato e questa volta si comporterà da uomo.
Ma il personaggio che più mi ha sorpreso è Ida Sue, l’ho trovata molto diversa da quella dei precedenti libri, pur essendo sempre protettiva nei confronti dei suoi figli e di chi ama, ho intravisto un lato oscuro che non pensavo le appartenesse. Un lato oscuro nato e poi sviluppatosi in seguito ad brutta esperienza del passato. So che è previsto anche un libro su di lei, e io non vedo l’ora di poterlo leggere, le premesse per una bellissima ed emozionantissima storia ci sono tutte.
Questo libro mixa sapientemente momenti hot – vi consiglio di leggerlo con un bel ventilatore vicino – momenti teneri, di divertimento ma anche di azione. I personaggi sono tutti ben caratterizzati, ritroviamo tutta la famiglia Lucas con le new entry dei libri precedenti. Preparatevi un po’ di maalox, perchè vi verrà mal di stomaco quando farete la conoscenza del padre di Luka, il sindaco Parish la cui ombra maligna si allungherà sui protagonisti, il loro figlio River e tutta la famiglia Lucas. La sua presenza si avverte per tutto il libro, anche se non “fisicamente” presente la sua aura maligna si fa sentire nei comportamenti degli altri personaggi. Un uomo che lascia il segno senza dubbio anche se non positivo.
Lo stile è molto scorrevole, all’inizio di ogni capitolo l’autrice ci racconta tramite scene ambientate nel passato come è nata la storia stra Luka e Lotus, ma soprattutto come sono arrivati alla situazione attuale. Per quanto mi riguarda questo libro è il migliore dei tre finora pubblicati, l’ho letto in due giorni, non riuscivo a posarlo tanto ero curiosa di scoprire cosa sarebbe successo. Se vi sono piaciuti i due libri precedenti questo sicuramente lo amerete. Consigliatissimo.

Questo libro mixa sapientemente momenti hot – vi consiglio di leggerlo con un bel ventilatore vicino – momenti teneri, di divertimento ma anche di azione. I personaggi sono tutti ben caratterizzati, ritroviamo tutta la famiglia Lucas con le new entry dei libri precedenti. Preparatevi un po’ di maalox, perchè vi verrà mal di stomaco quando farete la conoscenza del padre di Luka, il sindaco Parish la cui ombra maligna si allungherà sui protagonisti, il loro figlio River e tutta la famiglia Lucas. La sua presenza si avverte per tutto il libro, anche se non “fisicamente” presente la sua aura maligna si fa sentire nei comportamenti degli altri personaggi. Un uomo che lascia il segno senza dubbio anche se non positivo.
Lo stile è molto scorrevole, all’inizio di ogni capitolo l’autrice ci racconta tramite scene ambientate nel passato come è nata la storia stra Luka e Lotus, ma soprattutto come sono arrivati alla situazione attuale. Per quanto mi riguarda questo libro è il migliore dei tre finora pubblicati, l’ho letto in due giorni, non riuscivo a posarlo tanto ero curiosa di scoprire cosa sarebbe successo. Se vi sono piaciuti i due libri precedenti questo sicuramente lo amerete. Consigliatissimo.

Eccoci finalmente alla storia di Petal, una delle sorelle dei fratelli Lucas, detti fratelli “Pastello”, e Luka, l’attraente sceriffo. Della loro complicata situazione ne avevamo avuto un accenno nel romanzo n.2 e in questo nuovo capitolo finalmente abbiamo una storia tutta per loro.
« L’ho saputo dal momento in cui la sua mano si è tesa e mi ha toccato per la prima volta, dal momento in cui le sue dita si sono strette per la prima volta alle mie…che quella era la mano che avrei voluto tenere per tutta la vita. La mano di Luka era quella che avrei voluto tenere anche quando fossi stata vecchia e grigia. La mano che mi avrebbe dato conforto nei momenti tristi, la mano che avrei stretto per condividere i momenti migliori. La mano di Luka Parish era quella che volevo tenere in ogni istante della mia esistenza su questa terra. Il divorzio non ha mai cambiato le cose. Neppure la vita le ha cambiate, e nemmeno suo padre è riuscito a farlo»
Questo estratto, a mio parere, rappresenta tutto ciò che sono Luka e Petal: un legame fortissimo che non si è mai spezzato, iniziato lontano nel tempo, e che non si è mai rotto nonostante il loro divorzio.
Ma c’è di più in questo terzo capitolo: finalmente capiamo a fondo l’astio profondo di Ida Sue verso Luka, il suo essere così eccentrica, che per un personaggio così dirompente e simpatico non fa che accrescere l’empatia del lettore nei suoi riguardi.
Petal è una giovane donna che si è sposata perché incinta a diciassette anni; il suo divorzio e la mancanza di Luka nella sua vita l’hanno fatta crescere e, durante la storia, il lettore percepisce questo cambiamento da molti punti di vista.
Luka l’ha sempre amata, quando riesce a mettere da parte la rabbia che sente perché lei lo ha “semplicemente” lasciato, riuscirà a ricostruire il suo amore per lei su nuove basi.
«La amavo. Ma l’amore non può esistere dove non c’è fiducia. Rimane solo la collera. O no?

Dio, come mi tormenta questa donna. Siamo separati da oltre un anno e ancora mi sento come se vivesse in me.»
Intorno a loro la chiassosa, partecipe, estroversa fino all’inverosimile e fantasticamente insieme famiglia Lucas, che la scrittrice rende con il suo stile divertente e coinvolgente.
Il volume si può leggere anche da solo, ma consiglio tutta la serie, perché in queste storie c’è tutto: la famiglia, il dolore, la carriera, la realtà “normale” americana ma anche quella benestante, la passione, l’erotico: insomma una lettura che può piacere a gusti diversi.

Not Sure About This One
Petal's mother is the most inconsistent secondary character. I really couldn't keep up with her.
Petal lying about which sister she was to make Luka not know which sister she was to trick Luka into being with her, despite the fact that she was a minor, was something I really shouldn't have overlooked. The only reason I continued was because Petal and Luka we're both adamant that Luka didn't know how old she really was. She hated Luka with no reason but she apparently confronted him before the divorce was finalized to make him try to fight for Petal. Why would he listen to someone who was so mean to him his entire marriage to her daughter?
There are no details about the good from their marriage. It's all him not trying to understand why she doesn't like his father and Luka being mad as t her for various reasons. Even when they were divorcing it seemed like he never tried to make it right. Petal really could only do so much. The only reason they even get back together seems to be because we're told they love each other. They fell in love before Luka knew the truth of Petal's age and never tell out of it.
This just really didn't work for me.

Finalmente tornano i fratelli/sorelle Lucas! Questa è una storia che è nata troppo presto tra bugie e fraintendimenti ma che è anche finita troppo presto per le stesse motivazioni. Abbiamo una donna che pur di sentirsi al sicuro lascia la persona che ama, un uomo accecato dalle incomprensioni e solo dopo che perde la donna che ama capisce di aver sbagliato. Una donna che finalmente si decide a riprendersi il suo uomo, che a sua volta cerca di andare avanti ma che solo con lei sa di poterlo fare. Questo romanzo e frizzante, divertente e leggero (tipica caratteristica di questa scrittrice) ha anche tratti di mistero che vengono risolti entro la fine della storia. Consiglio assolutamente questo libro come i primi due della serie 5 stelle

I love the crayon family. This was Petal's and Luka's story. I got to say, that Luka surprised me, as I was reading he constantly said how much he loved Petal, and that she was it for him. Yet as I continued to read, the attitude he had of not forgiving her, pissed me off. Yes, she had lied, but get over it, you married her so stop with the grudge. Also, she is your wife, and he needed to take her consideration above others, and he didn't. Luckily for him, he got another chance, and he finally woke up and realized it. I loved Petal and River, but most importantly Ida Sue, she always delivers. Can't wait til the next one.

There's a scene in this book which will dampen your panties without missing a beat!
Even if the rest of the book was crap, which it isn't, the scene by the side of the road... Whoa!
Jordan Marie doesn't let us down...again! The Lucas Brother's series is brilliant! With a family full of crazy characters, led by the completely insane Ida Sue is a series you find yourself begging her for the next book!
When Petal decides it's time to fight for her ex-husband's heart again... let the games begin!
But that scene.... (I think I've gone back and re-read about a dozen times in the last week :P)

First and foremost, let me say that Jordan gets an award for using snatch tastefully in this book LOL.
Next Ida Sue is my hero. I just love her! Also Jansen is one character that made me cry in this book.
Now onto Happy Trail. This book was an emotional roller coaster for me. Goodness 10% in and I was shedding tears. I think I went through every feeling sadness, hurt, anger, sexytime (lol), and a little betrayal. YES BETRAYAL but that feeling is more towards Luka's Father (I use that term loosely, VERY LOOSE) but you will find out about that. These lips are sealed.
This book was so great. We get to hear from our favorite Lucas' family. This book was an amazing read. (like I was shocked HELLO Jordan wrote it) I highly recommend reading Happy Trail. If you haven't Get The Perfect Stroke Gray's story.

Love this series, not gonna lie. Bummed the series no longer distributed on KU but I am a fan and need to get me more colors. Really enjoyed getting Petal's story. Little crazy how things got at the end but still loved the story. Cannot wait to read more.

Dopo aver letto Il Ritmo perfetto e Un cuore in tempesta, torna, sempre grazie alla Hope Edizioni, Jordan Marie con un nuovo e divertente capitolo della serie Lucas Brothers dal titolo Il Sentiero Felice.
Ricordate i fratelli pastello?
Beh accantonateli per un attimo perché con questo capitolo ci concentreremo su una delle tre “sorelle fiore” di Green, Gray, Cyan, Black, Blue e White: Lotus Petal.
Petal aveva solo sedici anni quando per la prima volta il suo sguardo ha scorto quello di Luka Parish, uno dei più cari amici e collega di suo fratello Black.
Ma, Luka è un uomo e lei, solo una stupida ragazzina che non ha mai nemmeno baciato.
Ed è così, che decide di fingersi la sua sorella maggiore e, detto tra noi, conquistare quell’uomo non è stato per niente difficile.
Adoro quando Luka mi chiama tesoro. Soprattutto perché gli ho lasciato credere di essere mia sorella maggiore, Maggie. Mi uccide quando mi chiama Maggie. Odio avergli mentito, ma sono disperata. Ho bisogno che Luka si innamori di me prima di sapere quanti anni ho Ho bisogno che prima sia mio Ho bisogno che mi ami quanto io amo lui.
La passione ed i sentimenti sono reciproci e tenere le mani al proprio posto appare impossibile tanto da vederla a soli diciassette anni incinta di un piccolo Parish.
Può una storia nata da una menzogna riservare qualcosa di buono?
No, ve lo dico senza giri di parole e, oggi, a distanza di cinque anni da quella scoperta, Luka e Petal sono sì, gli amorevoli genitori di River ma, sono anche una coppia separata che finge di sopportarsi per il bene del figlio.
Ad un anno dalla separazione, con la complicità di chi sta loro intorno, sembrano pronti a ricominciare, a rifarsi una vita e, a “togliere le ragnatele”.
Ma saranno realmente pronti a ricominciare a vivere?
E, in quel lungo anno, se la metà della loro mela non si fosse mai allontanata dall’albero?
Forse separarsi non è stata la migliore delle idee ma, le bugie continuano ad aleggiare nelle loro vite e qualcuno rema contro la loro relazione per contrastare il loro lieto fine.

Ma Luka ama follemente Petal - Lo per lui – e non ha mai smesso di amarla nonostante le bugie, nonostante il rancore, nonostante tutto.
Senza Petal, sto lentamente morendo dentro, e non sembra che la situazione possa migliorare. Pensavo che il tempo mi avrebbe guarito, ma un anno dopo eccomi qua, ancora dietro a una donna che mi ha mentito e mi ha lasciato. Non riesco a desiderare niente altro che la mia famiglia unita. Ma devo accettare che non tornerà mai a esserlo. Avrei dovuto arrendermi e andare avanti già da un pezzo.
Petal oggi è una donna nuova, non più la diciassettenne che con un figlio in grembo si è dovuta sposare con un uomo solo perché “andava fatto”.

Cari Colours, con Il Sentiero Felice, Jordan Marie, ci ha regalato una nuova storia ricca di emozioni e tormenti, gioie e dolori.
Una storia di crescita.
Il suo stile ironico, accattivante ma anche estremamente sensibile e tormentato, ci ha catapultato nelle vite di due protagonisti forti ma spaventati, arrendevoli ma follemente innamorati.
La passione che li consuma è il carburante che li alimenta, la scena a bordo strada ha un non so che di sporco e allo stesso tempo divertente.
L’ironia appunto non abbandona mai la Lucas Family e, ancora una volta e, sono sempre più presenti le folli farneticazioni e i consigli strambi ed irriverenti dei Lucas Brother.
Lo guardo dal basso; ho il sole negli occhi, ma vedo un po’ di sangue anche sul suo viso, il che non mi fa sentire un fallito totale. È allora che noto una intera fila di uomini che mi vogliono morto. Cazzo. Oltre a Black, ci sono Gray, White, Green, Blue e Cyan… letteralmente un arcobaleno di uomini che vogliono uccidermi. Gesù.
Protagonista indiscussa e sempre più influente Ida Sue, il cardine della famiglia e colei che tutto può e governa.
Mia madre non ha mai approvato e lui la odia. L’attrito tra di loro è una delle tante ragioni per cui il mio matrimonio è imploso. Be’, quello e il fatto che non avrei mai dovuto sposarmi a diciassette anni. Ero una bambina che giocava a fare l’adulta, e di conseguenza ho fatto un sacco di scelte sbagliate. Cazzo, ho ventidue anni e sto ancora facendo un sacco di scelte sbagliate.
Ne, Il Sentiero felice ci viene presentata in una veste nuova, più oscura ma anche più debole, seppur sempre combattiva e combattente per il bene della propria famiglia e delle persone che ama.
Chissà che un giorno tutti i suoi segreti ci vengano svelati in un capitolo a lei dedicato.
Per il momento focalizziamoci però su Il sentiero felice ed i suoi due protagonisti, in attesa di quel che verrà che, se la Hope Edizioni dovesse rispettare l’ordine originale, vede come protagonista Black: il sexy poliziotto.
Consiglio Il Sentiero felice?
Avete amato i fratelli pastello e siete curiose di conoscere la storia di una delle tre sorelle fiore.
Cercate una storia sulle seconde possibilità con due protagonisti irriverenti, tormentati e passionali.
Adorate i sexy poliziotti ed il potere che sono in grado di esercitare.
«Che stai facendo?» chiedo, e ormai non c’è più alcuna confusione nella mia mente, solo collera, perché strillo letteralmente la domanda. «Sto arrestando mia moglie» risponde lui calmo, sedendosi al posto di guida e avviando la macchina.
Lo guardo, incredula, attraverso la protezione in metallo nero, che c’è tra il sedile posteriore e quelli anteriori. «Non siamo sposati.» «Buffo che di tutta la frase sia quella la parte su cui hai da ridire.» «Non lo siamo!» obietto ancora, il cuore che mi batte a mille all’ora. In tutta risposta, lui accende la radio. «Luka! Non puoi arrestarmi!» «Posso, eccome» dice lui calmo. «Perché diamine?» «Alienazione d’affetto.» «Alienazione… Puoi parlare in una lingua comprensibile, per favore?»
Senza alcun dubbio Il Sentiero Felice è il libro che fa per voi.

Love isn't easy
At first I was hesitant about reading Petals book. Then I dove in and committed to reading it. Loved the first two and wasn't disappointed in this one either.
Such is life that sometimes it feels like a rollercoaster of drama, pain,and lies. Oh and don't forget disappointment, fear, happiness and a whole lot of other emotions. The author gives you all of that in this story of Luka and Petal.
I won't spoil anything but I will say a whole lot goes down, and I don't just mean in sex because oh yeah that happens too. Secrets spilled, arrests are made and lives are put on the line. If anyone thought loving someone is easy...think again!

I'm not surprised that I liked this book. I'm a sucker for second chance romances. Although, Luka's father was absolutely crazy. I was thankful that the truth about everything came out in the end. It made their HEA so much better.

Bongiorno a tutti readers,
oggi il blog partecipa al review party dedicato al romanzo Il sentiero felice, terzo capitolo della serie Lucas Brothers, meglio conosciuti come i "fratelli pastello", dell'autrice Jordan Marie, edita Hope Edizioni.
Dopo aver conosciuto Gray in - Il ritmo perfetto - e White in - Cuore in tempesta - è arrivato il momento di conoscere la storia dedicata a una delle sorelle Lucas, Lotus Petal e Luka Parish, il suo ex marito.
Nei primi due capitoli della serie abbiamo avuto modo di conoscere entrambi ed era evidente che non fosse veramente finita tra i due, e che dietro quella rottura si nascondessero delle ragioni più complesse.
Petal si trascina addosso il peso di un errore commesso quando era solo una ragazzina di sedici anni, e alla soglia dei venti ne continua a pagare le conseguenze.
Era ancora troppo giovane, troppo inesperta quando ha capito di essere follemente innamorata di Luka Parish. Niente di strano, se non fosse che Luka è parecchio più grande di lei; è un uomo fatto e finito in procinto di iniziare una carriera nei servizi speciali insieme a suo fratello Black. Nonostante la sostanziale differenza di età, Petal vuole conquistarlo a tutti i costi, e per evitare che lui la rifiuti decide di mentire sulla sua identità fingendosi la sorella maggiore.

Il sentiero felice è un romanzo di crescita, nel quale la componente emotiva occupa un ruolo fondamentale nell'intera storia.
Sia Luka che Petal sono due personaggi imperfetti, ma è questa imperfezione a renderli reali, tridimensionali. Sono due ragazzi che devono fare i conti ogni giorno con le conseguenze delle loro azioni, e lo detestano. Entrambi, anche se in maniera differente hanno commesso degli errori nel gestire il loro rapporto.
Petal è una giovane donna distrutta, che ha sofferto e continua a soffrire per aver perso l'amore della sua vita; ma la paura ha vinto su tutto e ha gettato le armi. Si è arresa alla crudeltà, si arresa al potere. Cosa avrebbe potuto fare altrimenti? del resto, noi donne abbiamo la tendenza a sacrificare noi stesse per il bene delle persone che amiamo, e Petal ha fatto esattamente questo: ha sacrificato se stessa e il suo amore per Luka.
Luka l'ho amato e odiato allo stesso tempo; se nel suo lavoro si mostra un uomo forte e determinato, non si può dire lo stesso per la sua vita privata; nonostante amasse la sua Lo, si è lasciato sopraffare dalla rabbia e dall'orgoglio. Si è fossilizzato su quell'unico errore da lei commesso, riversandole addosso tutto il suo risentimento. Non è mai riuscito a vederla sul serio, non ha mai capito quanto in realtà soffrisse, quanto fosse doloroso per lei subire la rabbia e il disprezzo di chi avrebbe dovuto amarla.
Dovranno imparare a perdonarsi, a fidarsi l'uno dell'altra, ma più di ogni altra cosa dovranno combattere insieme l'uno accanto all'altra, solo così riusciranno a sconfiggere i demoni che per anni gli hanno dato il tormento.
Un percorso di crescita doloroso e intenso li attenderà, ma solo riscoprendosi, solo intensificando il loro legame potranno superare gli ostacoli della vita.
L'unione fa la forza e loro impareranno ad essere uniti, ad essere finalmente quella famiglia che avrebbe dovuto essere sin dal principio.
Ida Sue si riconferma una vera bomba, una forza della natura, che vi strapperà mille risate con le sue battute irriverenti e piuttosto sconce, ma in questo volume scoprirete un altro aspetto della sua personalità, quella più fragile, legata al suo doloroso passato.
Non mi resta che consigliarlo e spero di poter leggere presto il volume dedicato a Black.

oggi il blog partecipa al review party dedicato al romanzo Il sentiero felice, terzo capitolo della serie Lucas Brothers, meglio conosciuti come i "fratelli pastello", dell'autrice Jordan Marie, edita Hope Edizioni.
Dopo aver conosciuto Gray in - Il ritmo perfetto - e White in - Cuore in tempesta - è arrivato il momento di conoscere la storia dedicata a una delle sorelle Lucas, Lotus Petal e Luka Parish, il suo ex marito.
Nei primi due capitoli della serie abbiamo avuto modo di conoscere entrambi ed era evidente che non fosse veramente finita tra i due, e che dietro quella rottura si nascondessero delle ragioni più complesse.
Petal si trascina addosso il peso di un errore commesso quando era solo una ragazzina di sedici anni, e alla soglia dei venti ne continua a pagare le conseguenze.
Era ancora troppo giovane, troppo inesperta quando ha capito di essere follemente innamorata di Luka Parish. Niente di strano, se non fosse che Luka è parecchio più grande di lei; è un uomo fatto e finito in procinto di iniziare una carriera nei servizi speciali insieme a suo fratello Black.
