Ingersoll Lockwood was an American lawyer and writer. As a writer, he is particularly known today for his Baron Trump children's novels. He wrote other children's novels, the dystopian novel 1900: or; The Last President, a play, and several non-fiction works. He wrote some of his non-fiction under the pseudonym Irwin Longman.
You know the first time we got Barron a dog it didn't work out the way it did in this here book. This Lockwood is really misrepresenting things. I mean I got the kid the dog so he would leave me the fuck alone for a few hours but he didn't know how to take care of it. I mean when I was 3 I was already weightlifting, but Barron couldn't even take the fuckin' thing on a walk without it dragging him around like he was a fuckin' kite. I told Barron if he didn't start training the thing to do its business on the sidewalk instead of the carpets of my beautiful Trump Tower I wasn't gonna let him have Sugar Sticks for desert no more. The final straw was when the fuckin' thing barked at him and he started cryin up a goddamn tsunami. I had one of my bodyguards give him his piece and I told Barron to finish what he'd fuckin' started. He started blubbering some more so I helped him squeeze the trigger. The way the light went out of those dog's eyes, it reminded me of a TV screen going black. Barron didn't talk too much after that, but I think he's doing pretty good today. Very proud of his papa.
Fascinating. An interesting collection of stories in their own right. And if you are the conspiracy lover there are enough similarities between this Trump family and the one in reality to suggest that they might.m be one and the same.
Not kindle unlimited, actually got it for 99 cents all together though there are various other sets and prices, as well as the single books, and as far as the blurb stuff, not as much similarity as acts like there is {in the blurb}, but there is quite a bit, and the last of the stories was a bit iffy on how much I actually liked it, the others tended to drag in places, but didn't feel as if it deserved less than a 4 no matter what, even if the writing seemed a bit stilted {as it was written back in 1800's}. this version did not have a lot of the illustrations that other ones did BUT it was also on 99 cents for all 3 books AND available for me to read mobi/epub, and it was about the same type as Gulliver's Travels basically
Travels And Adventures Of Little Baron Trump Baron Trump's Marvelous Underground Journey 1900 ~ Or: The Last President
The Last President ** Travels And Adventures Of Little Baron Trump ** Baron Trumps’ Marvellous Underground Journey: INGERSOLL LOCKWOOD COLLECTION
I didn't think that this one was as good as his other story , Baron Trump marvelous underground Journey .this one seemed a bit rushed at the end after such a long story .it's hard to think that any kid now days would read this kind of story considering it was written in the early nineteen Hundred. it's an odd story filled with Adventures baron gos on with his dog around the world to places no one has ever dared to go . He's the captain and boss over all travels he gos on considering he and his family are the ones that cover all costs for these Adventures and travels. I first heard about these books while Trump was President .due to the fact that his son's name was baron and this author had also written a book called the last president ,are also known as 1900. It's supposed to have Eerie resemblance to today's Times of riots and political misfortunes.this author also has a few more adult books but these so far are the only kids books. If you're looking for something totally different I would suggest to at least read little Barron Trump's underground Adventure are travels and Adventures of little Baron Trump.
A funny little book, like a more gentle Gulliver’s Travels - young boy travels to other populations, each who has a bit of advice on how humans could live better lives. The main character is the funny part - full of supreme self confidence and assurance that he can accomplish any task or solve any problem, and he has no problem telling everyone just that. He is a picture of good manners and breeding, and also that self-importance that can come from a privileged life. It’d be easy to brush past this story or discount it because of that, since our hero can come across somewhat insufferable at times. However, as an adventure/fantasy, it’s probably worth a read.
I picked this book due to curiosity about the similarities with our current presidency. Not expecting much at first, I was pulled in by the story and found it hard to put down after the first couple chapters.
This is one of the strangest books I have ever read. Lockwood's vivid imagination and insight into human nature has created a story that is wacky, suspenseful, humorous, and heartwarming. Everywhere Baron Trump travels he finds lands and people that have adapted through evolution to a ridiculous degree. It seems that Lockwood was influenced by Darwin and other scientists of his day in creating stories that make fun of mans presumed intelligence and power structures of the time.
This was an interesting child's read, and I loved the writing style. The creativity was amusing, though a bit redundant in places. I realize that there are those who claim it is prophetic, and while I'm intrigued, I'm not totally convinced: It will take some more research and comparison on my part. Until then, I'll enjoy it as a story about an unusual child and his travels with his faithful dog.
I would give this a solid 2.5 stars. I loved "Gulliver's Travels" and the "Wizard of Oz." A child (although very mature and his dog) sets off on a ship to exotic places with exotic inhabitants. It certainly isn't the "Odyssey" either. It was boring and repetitive although sometimes very funny and it was the humor that kept if from getting 1 star.
This novel, and the one which follows, are similar in style and content to Gulliver's Travels, but without the strong political references and written for a slightly lower level of vocabulary.
It is, nonetheless, an entertaining book and a fun fantasy for a brief escape.
I was fascinated with the title and picked it up hoping it would be interesting. It probably is but the old English was too hard to get through. I didn’t make it past a few chapters.
The family sends the little baron on a quest to find a world inside our world that has been written recorded in a book. Imaginative and interesting. I would not have survived the ice community. Brrrrr.
