A beat-up old car, a few dollars in the pocket and a sense of adventure. In 1972 that’s all Tony and Maureen Wheeler needed for the trip of a lifetime – across Europe and Asia overland to Australia. My friend and I are going on a "Misery Road Trip" through the fires and smoke down to LA. His wife asked him for a divorce and my sweetheart just moved away to the Netherlands. If we hug the coast, maybe everything will be o.k.
