I’ve figured it out. I have a solution to rid all romance of insufficient heroes. I think all romance authors need to take a thorough read of ACOMAF to understand the template of a truly imperfectly perfect hero. Because readers? Just imagine the contemporary romance equivalent of fantasy Rhysand that would put all those amateurs with hero status to shame. We’d start a revolution, a new age brand of male protagonists that will take this genre by storm :D …But let’s veer away from the surrealism of my lunacy for a bit. I bring this up because my poor brain is exhausted of the hapless representations of male and female protagonists to be found between the pages of a book.
Women do not have a weak will nor are we sapless creatures without posture or backbone. We are not helplessly debilitated by edgy faces and sexy smile or easy meat made susceptible to easy game. As fertile creatures, we do take notice. We love fictional love, fictional lust, intimacy, seduction, attraction, affection and all the rest of it. But we do not mutate into unthinking, senseless, purely feeling creatures of lust and loin without marrow, mettle or cells of the brain when we soak in the tang of testosterone, or set eyes on such beautiful creatures who lure us with provocative words and erect limbs…
But why female authors continue to write female characters who are completely stripped of will, faculty and mindfulness at the presence, touch or word of a dashing specimen is something I’m yet to understand. I love reading about lust, I love reading about love, passion, attraction, the demand of a delicious romance, but I love the challenge of a toe-to-toe romance more, the face-to-face demand, the fierce female dispositions that fight back and prove a worthy opponent. I do kindly ask authors to please stop defacating on the female species in the process. We're so much more than the way we're presented. I ask authors to please consider the value of a woman irrespective of what genre to you choose to write us in. What’s worse are female characters who boast a stellar spine to begin with, a guise that quickly falls through simple seduction, which again is something Laci Monroe, the lead in this book, lets happen very quickly.
Neither Jake nor Laci are consistent characters. She’s adamant to never have personal connections with any athlete because she’s wounded by her history but then falls into bed with him a few days later, at the risk of her job even though it’s so important to her. And Jake? Well, he acts like he’s taken a strong dose of something unsavoury when he does a complete 180 from thinking Laci is a ‘snooty b****’, taking a bet to seduce her, to falling in love with her within a few days span. They’re both made to look substantial by having pasts, but they’re about as insubstantial as a hot air balloon - full of hot air that boasts a hot mess. Their relationship is a concoction of sex, out-of-place overprotectiveness and Insta love that reads on the right side of artificial.
You’re reading from a woman who has no qualms or bias against a celibate lifestyle. I have a huge regard and respect for all lifestyle choices (as long as no one is harmed in the process) but I personally don't see the appeal in the manwhore/virgin combination (unless it's pulled off with true consideration for the celibate party). Otherwise, it isn't really isn't appealing to read about. Why male characters have a long history of great sex with multiple partners, but female leads have unforgettable, boring sex, unmatched to the volume of sexual exploit as their potential love interest until they meet the amazing God of Multiple Orgasms that changes their lives, or in this case, a virgin. Because yes, Laci is a virgin and you guessed it, Jake has been around the block aplenty.
Now here come the big guns - the thing that arguably bothered me the most. Either the author didn't care to imbue her supporting characters with likeable traits, or this was an engineered maneuver to make Jake appear that white knight among a clan of putrid excuses for men, or rather children masquerading as men. I don’t like to curse when I review, but I’m going to kindly take a piece of dialogue from supporting character Mac to emphatically echo this sentiment of such truth, “All of them, a bunch of fucking assholes”. And even if I had enjoyed this one, I wouldn't have maintained any desire to want to read from this collective of athletes.
Jake's teammates? There is a reason I call these contemptible male side characters ‘boys’ because they really need an education on what it means to be not just a man, but respectable human beings. What we have here is a collection of repulsive, egotistic meatheads who have crafted this routine ruse to seduce, bed and fire every manager for their team, for the simple reason that these detestable idiots don’t like to be micromanaged. And Laci is the next victim. This whole scheme is nothing less than a violation and I found it abominable that it's a routine practice, that these pro-athletes have done this to many women before Laci.
Jake never once stood up for Laci to his teammates when she was pranked or name called. He was there to pick up the pieces and play the hero, but is that enough? I questioned his character throughout because he’s friends with a group of men who clearly have no respect for women. These are supposed to be athletes of the highest caliber but in every way act like adolescents. He never faces off with his teammates for Laci’s sake, even though he, after a few days of knowing her, falls in love with her and becomes unrealistically protective - ( peculiar and hugely out of place protectiveness too).
Jake calls this scheme “messed up” but never tried to stop it. His supposed moral compass is set to ‘the good guy’ by explaining how awful he feels about what he’s doing to Laci, but let’s just say he may as well be led by a malfunctioning compass. Because you can say what you wish Jake, but as the good folks say actions do indeed speak louder than words. He’s made to be the courteous guy in this story. He’s made to look considerate, decent, romantic and protective - all of which come across as an attempt to force a gentlemanly image. When really, he’s just the best out of a bad bunch, and treats women much better.
On the subject of the pranks? they’re not funny. Laci is left with a painful bruise after one such incident, humiliated while the boys laugh at her. Another time she goes into anaphylaxis. The teammates didn’t know she had an allergy, (but this shouldn't absolves them). Jake apparently sets them straight but not one of them apologises to Laci face to face. But readers, you’d be rather foolish to presume they’d do anything mature or altruistic. To top this off with a sugary sweet layer of icing, when Jake comes to her rescue, like the superhero he is, he ends up having sex with her when she’s barely out of the throes of bodily shock, (and also despite her virgin status)...because of course romance now has a new name and a new philosophy that dictates sex is a cure for everything.
This is a very flawed book and it’s without the fluidity of a well-told story. Some parts were ok, but overall this wasn't a tempting read. You might ask if it’s at least good? I’d have to disappoint and tell you it’s not that either. The chemistry between the two main protagonists could have been believable if done differently, but as it were, every facet of this story and the romance was unbelievable and accelerates unevenly. Character profiles?Zero consistency. Character contradictions?Aplenty. The characters themselves?Nauseating.Side characters?Irredeemable. The romance?Strictly implausible and without proper communication. Any choice reads should always be a reader’s choice. I’d never force my personal beliefs/opinions/feelings on any reader so feel free to take your chances. It really might be the one for you, even if it wasn't for me.
Trigger Warning:Profanity, mentions of infidelity (not with the main couple) and domestic abuse)
S O M E - O D D S - A N D - E N D S 1)This book plainly needs a strong round of editing because the grammar and punctuation placement is quite poor. Full stops seems to exist in the middle of sentences, commas find new homes, the second chapter seems to cut off right in the middle of a scene and the third one begins in a confusing place because it actually takes place earlier on with without an indication of a ‘one week before’ label. The scene placement is confusing and I’m certain that the word ‘bloody’ is used as part of profanity. Now, I’m a born Brit and I’m used to the word but, correct me if I’m wrong, I don’t believe it’s practiced American terminology, with the exception of using it to describe a scene that might include blood. Aside from this, a lot of sentences tend to end with ‘but for real, or ‘but still’.
2)The scene structure is a bit messy, and the time frame is confusing.
3)If management and other employees know about this scheme that these abhorrent players have cooked up, I don’t know why the option of a male employee for the M.O.M position is overlooked. Literally anyone can intervene to keep these guys in line, especially the owner of the team. Literally anyone.
4)This is a sports romance, but we’re never privy to an actual baseball game, only hear about the games retrospectively or once it’s over.
5)Though Laci is a virgin, there are no conversations about her being a virgin.

This was a really cute short book, honestly I would have liked more of how they fell in love and just the process, but overall, still cute and fun. And man do I love baseball. I need to read more of baseball romances. Chef's kiss.
Bet On it was such an unexpected surprise usually in this genre especially when it comes to a bet it turns me off but something about the cover and blurb drew me to it I'm so happy that I gave it a chance and I highly suggest that you one click this diamond as soon as possible . Loved Laci and Jake they are perfect for one another and with the way they meet in such a awkwardly funny way had me dying , Laci and Jake are surprised once they get to know each other and discover there is more behind the facade that they present , once these two give into their desires that have been building since the start it became super steamy and really intense . Adored Laci when we find out about her childhood my heart broke for her and once she gets her dream job that leads her into one sexy ball player , she's dedicated to her job , kind, head strong , and funny. At first I didn't know what I was going to think of Jake but literally fell for him right for the start so swoon worthy and under his playboy facade he's sweet , funny , mamas boy , loves his family , naughty , and great baseball player once he get his mojo back thanks to a certain "mom" . I hope to see more from the teammates and I'm hoping they'll redeem themselves because they were a bunch of D BAGS . Would like to read more by Elizabeth Perry she really drew me into the story and had such lovable characters that I hope to see more of . copy provided for honest review **************************************** hero=10 heroine=10 secondary characters=10 Chemistry=10 steam=9 romance=8 humor=5 darkness level=5 action=3 mystery=3 enjoyment=10 angst=4 story line=10 Story ending=10 character development=10 pacing=10 Plot=10 cover=10 stars=5 author=8 would I recommend this book=yes would I re read this book=yes would I read future books by this author= yes
Omfg. The fact that there are no 1 star reviews explaining why this book is absolute garbage has compelled me to write a review. ( for those looking for a quick yes/no, my answer is DEAR GAWD DONT READ THIS BOOK)
The gist: Laci becomes a babysitter for a mlb team that has gotten every woman in the position fired. She’s dead set on keeping away from baseball players which is good because it’s in her contract NOT to sleep with the players.
Jake seems like a decent dude, the guys bet him to sleep with Laci within a month to get her fired. He doesn’t want to go through with it but ends up falling for her.
💩The hot, flaming garbage that is this book:
-the extreme lack of development between the characters - the gross faux alpha personality that suddenly overtakes Jake. It’s so misplaced, it’s horribly executed. -Laci is so unbelievably weak. They breakup & get back together without addressing their issues. Then they bang in the locker room where he say ‘you’re going off birth control’. She says ‘no’ and he says ‘no buts, don’t you love me?’ AND SHE GIVES IN 🤬🤯 He’s so manipulative to say that & she’s so weak for giving in. - no substance, no wit, no laughing. It’s just ALL bad. - the gross, overly schmaltzy ‘I love yous’ & ‘romantic’ declarations... it’s over the top & cheesy. It’s not cute or sweet it’s just 🤮 - the massive amount of editing mistakes is astounding. Wrong words, misspelled words, missing words, too many damn commas, the bizarre sentence ‘structure’... it’s a $hit show.
So if you’re thinking about reading this book/author maybe just don’t ✌🏼
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Let me start out by saying that I'm a complete cover whore, and this cover earned 5 stars on it's very own. Now onto the fantastic goodness inside of it. Laci Monroe grew up around baseball players her whole young life, but after her parents marriage disintegrated in spectacular fashion that destroyed her teenage years, she won't give any baseball player a shot at all. So she's the perfect person for managing the media accounts for the Carolina Rays baseball team, as they won't be able to get her fired by sleeping with her. Jake Matthews is the most popular player on the team, and is chosen to get Laci fired with a bet that he has one month to get her into bed. However, it quickly becomes apparent that he feels more than just a bet for the strong beauty, and the more time they spend together, he knows that it's not a bet anymore. And after so much work for him to get her to give him a chance, will she ever forgive him when she learns of the bet? WOW WOW WOW! I absolutely LOVED every minute of this story, and wanted to cry when it was over, as I didn't want to leave Elizabeth Perry's amazing world of baseball! Her brilliant writing style has me addicted instantly, as this is the first book that I've read by her, but it won't be my last. I won't lie, there are so many douchebags on this baseball team that I wanted to junk punch over and over again, so the colorful cast of secondaries brought out all kinds of emotional rage. And while I love me some Jake, he did make a couple of questionable douchey decisions, and hurt my girl Laci, who's camp I was fully in. Besides the angst, the sparks lit up my kindle will ruin all pair of panties in their path, while the humourous moments had me hysterically laughing. I could go on and on and on, but I won't, instead, I'll just say that I CANNOT WAIT to read more by this awesome author, and HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
May I start off by saying that this cover is H-O-T. Okay, drooling session over. Let's get into this review.
This book took a while to build momentum, but I am glad that I stuck around because this book was good. This book is a about a pro baseball player who, dumbly, places a bet that he can get the new team's "MOM" to sleep with him, so that she can get fired. This book is told from both Laci's and Jake's pov and I loved Jake all the way. While trying to win the bet against his teammates, Jake gets to know the "mommy" and starts to realize that she is an amazing woman and starts to develop feelings for her.
I will not spoil the details, but Jake was a wonderful hero and even though he suffered heartbreak, that did not stop him from having faith in love and placing his heart on the line. Eventhough Jake was pressured to take on the bet, he was such a sweetheart with a heart of gold. The chemistry was there, the sheets or locker room (wink, wink) was burning up and the author's writing was on point and I enjoyed myself while reading this book
Now, this book did have some things that I did not like and I must say that it was minor. The book started off slow and the main female character was a pushover to me, but she did bring some humor to the book. She made stupid decisions when it came to her job and her childhood should have steered her clear of this profession, but no, she dived right in, head first. I feel as if Jake had better character development while Laci got the short end of the stick.
I have read one other book by this author and it was also great. I recommend this author and this book because you will absolutely fall for Jake. Bet on it!!!
This is the first book I have read from Elizabeth Perry. I thought Bet on it was a super cute, sexy, funny story. Laci gets a job as a manager for a professional baseball team. It was her dream job.But there was one thing she can not do...fall in love with any of the team mates.Sure enough she starts falling in love with Jake. One of the best players.
Bet on it - Elizabeth Perry Jake at first is the usual douche that accepted a bet underpressure and tries to charm her. But inside he is really cute and loving. though he has flaws. Laci is a girl who really wants to do her job and not get fired. * From the beginning of the book the guys are bullies even though Jake is kinder and his thoughts are like "a good dude", he still doesnt stop them from treating Laci like crap. First time in a while that I thought they wouldn't end up together. But then happens the magic that fixs everything really fast...I was a little bit confused by it. I did enjoy them together their scenes were mostly cute and steamy, but when he says she is his it didn't feel like a lovely thing but more like ownership and the jealousy was bad too, like they could have worked on their relationship a bit more. And we don't get to see what happens with Laci's job even though it was really important to her. I guess in perspective I'd have like them both (as adults) to work on it a bit more before the ending.
I enjoyed this story but I feel there was potential to make it better. It could have been a longer read if there was more detail of Jake and Laci falling in love. Maybe I'm a sucker but I love reading about when a couple falls in love.
*Spoiler* I was super disappointed that Laci lost her dream job when she was the victim of this horrible bet and nothing happened to Jake. I feel her character totally went down hill there. She was a hard ass boss babe ball buster in the beginning and I think having her keep her dream job and showing those A-holes up would have been way more rewarding than watching her be demoted and then left for Jake to essentially "take care of". I think the author was trying to show us that no one ever took care of her until Jake came along but he could have taken care of her heart instead of her financial well being. I also wish that the author would have wrote a scene where she called the pranksters out and essentially told them to quit it and F off. I wished the hazing would have been addressed in some way. I mean they almost killed her with one of the pranks and it was barely mentioned after.
Things I enjoyed: -I liked Laci's character in the beginning .. strong and independent -I liked Jake -I enjoyed the how they got to know eachother (walking home, dog walk, hospital, family BBQ) -I enjoyed the steamy scenes
UGH I'm torn.. But I don't think i'll be buying the rest of the series... I may read them if they become available on KindleUnlimited.
There was also some edits missed.. while I find that annoying I can breeze past that quickly...
(4 July 2021) OK, I’m going into this book with an open mind. Overall, it has a 4+ rating with over 400 reviews. Not bad. Definitely worth a try. It’s baseball season. I love baseball. I love stories that revolve around baseball players. So, what’s my hesitation? The few reviews that were 1 or 2 star ratings had a lot to say about how bad this book was. They hit some of my deal breakers. I’m really hoping they’re wrong. There are more books in this series which means I’ll have more baseball if this one pans out. We shall see……
(5 July 2021) Umm, there was much good about this story and enough mediocre (not really bad) that I’m going with a middle-of-the-road 3-stars. Laci has reasons, very good reasons, to steer clear of professional athletes and baseball players in particular. She keeps those reasons to herself. Jake is known as a total player on and off the field. He has earned his reputation and then some. But he has never been deliberately mean so it’s a bit surprising that he gets caught up in The Bet. Well, in his defense, it sort of happens by accident and before he knows it, he’s in the middle of it all. All things considered, I really did like Jake. I understood where Laci was coming from and why she had so many walls built up. There’s nothing really new in this one, just a few things unique to Jake and Laci. I enjoyed it for the most part, toward the end I became a little annoyed. I think the story had more potential than actually panned out. Did I like it? Yep. Was it my fave baseball romance? Nope. It was a quick and entertaining story.
Ok we're do I start off with this little gem ? First let me start off with I don't normally read sports romance because frankly I do not know squat about sports . But Elizabeth Perry mad it so easy for me to understand .
So to the book .... Laci Monroe had a hard beginning a lot of people could probably relate family abandonment... anyways she knows everything about baseball and gets her dream job well anything is better then listening to some jerk watch porn all day in the next cubicle. So she lands her job as the new M.O.M. I'm really trying to not give out spoilers here . Her job is going to be really tough because as luck would have it the Carolina Rays ( baseball team ) hate M.O.Ms . They will do anything to get ride of them . In comes hot as $&@/ Jake Mathews he's the star of the team could care less Laci is the new M.O.M . That is untill the bet . Ok no more little spoilers read the book it is a must . Overall I though this book was going to be your basic boy meets girl blah blah blah . But I was so wrong . It hade all the feels every time i thought they would have a little break so they can have some normal they had those little secrets that kept wanting to step in and ruin everything . I didn't want it to end . I am hoping the other players get a shot at a happy ending .
I love reading series & I’m excited to start this one! Book 1 is about Jake & his baseball teammates finding ways to get their newly hired “mom”-ager fired by placing bets. Laci grew up with baseball engraved in her soul. She puts all her knowledge to use when she steps up to be the mother hen of the Rays. With a strict stipulation in her contract of no fraternizing with the players, she knows that won’t be a problem as she will never fall for a ball player. That is until Jake Matthews keeps intruding in her personal life, always showing up at the worst times to rescue her.
Somehow his teammates nominate him to be the next one to sleep with Laci. He’s never participated in the past but he figures he can do it quick & be done with it. But as he finds ways to break through Laci’s tough exterior walls, he finds a vulnerable girl who’s been let down & hurt too many times. Will Jake be another disappointment or will he be someone she can depend on?
Jake was a sweet guy, trying to do the right thing but always finding ways to mess things up with Laci. She held her ground every time & wasn’t a pushover. Looking forward to reading more about Jake’s teammates!
My very first book by Elizabeth Perry and must admit I devoured this book. I love Sport Romance books, they are always my go-to choice when I want to read something new. I like not only the romance aspect of the story, but some authors can write a sports scene so well it makes you feel like you are right there in the crowd. Elizabeth only touches on the on-field action a little bit in this story, but what she does seem to capture in this book is a heroine that knows ALOT about baseball. Laci has a few of her own opinions and pointers for Jake, which happen to pan out for him. I think it was this scene that made Jake look at Laci in a different light. She now just wasn't a person that him and his teammates wanted to get fired. This is a fantastically written book, with very real characters that aren't afraid to show their emotions or their hearts. I loved every word. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book
Laci needs a new job....bad...so she finds one with the Carolina Rey's Baseball Team. She grew up around baseball and knows all about the players, with her history there's no way in the world she would ever sleep with a baseball player, which is a good thing, because her contract strictly forbids it and it would be an instant dismissal if she did. Being the team M.O.M will be an easy job.
Jake is the star player of the team, everybody loves him (apart from the oppositions fans), there is a lot more of him than what you first see.
The team wants to get rid of it's M.O.M, they have managed to get rid of the rest of them before Laci, surely she will be just as easy. Somehow Jake finds himself in a bet, sleep with Laci within a month of her employment starting and he wins. Jake doesn't fully understand how this happened but surely it will be easy......
I have to preface this as I am so tired of the virgin stories. It's not at all appealing. Also people who say I love you in two weeks of starting a "relationship" is just weird, that's not love that is lust.
With that being said there is enough of this story to be entertaining. You have Laci who is the newly hired "Mom" or Manager of Media. She is taking over since the others can't seem to not sleep with the ballplayers. It doesn't help that they intend to sleep with them to get them fired, and play tricks on them. They don't want someone telling they can't have sex or get up to shenanigans on the road. So a bet is created on who is going to get rid of her.
Enter Jake the shortstop, and even though he doesn't want to participate he does. Enter in all the scenarios in which they are shoved together and she sees what a good guy he is. Overall entertaining, but a lot of eye roll moments as well.
This is the first book that I have read by this writer. It was a very interesting book from the beginning to the end. I am not a big fan of baseball but this book was interesting . I did enjoy reading this book. She has a unique way of writing that makes the book enjoyable from the beginning to the end. She does keep you on the edge of your seat waiting to see what is going to happen with the characters. I absolutely loved the character chemistry between Jake and Laci. It was intense and hot. I absolutely loved the tricks that were played on Laci. Dont get me wrong I did feel bad for her but those were the funniest moments in this delightful book. I highly recommend reading this one and cannot wait to read more by this writer. She has gained a new fan.
Oh I just love baseball romance books so when I saw this one I grabbed it! I was not disappointed in the least!
Jake is the super sexy, hotheaded, and a secret romantic. I just loved his character and the way he fell for Laci and claimed her from the get go.
Laci was super independent and was totally against falling in love with a sports star. The way she handled the “pranks” that were pointed her way was better than I ever could have done!! Haha I loved that she gave Jake a run for his money yet fell hopelessly in love with him.
I loved the whole storyline. It was very well written and made me want to keep reading. I can’t wait for the 2nd to come out!!
Bet on it was an unexpected surprise in this genre. I had my doubts about reading it but then I thought to take the risk and then ,surprise, I liked it. I think the story is usual type. Making a bet to seduce the women who is just there to make their face look good on news and the little boys in grown up men resisting it every level. But I was very much surprised in the plot when the 'proposal' went wrong. It was, of course a very sad moment, but very funny as a viewer c'mon you're are front of the public without knowing a thing they are cheering for the wrong girl. I think even the hotshot and his wife had a good laugh looking. I am looking forward to read the next title under this series.
Laci get a job for the Carolina Rey’s Baseball Team. It is her dream job, but her contract says she can’t sleep with any of the players. No problem, she grew up with hotshot baseball players and wanted nothing to do with them!
Jake is a star player for the Rey’s and when Laci is hired as their new “Mommy” he agrees to a bet with his teammates to sleep with her so they can get rid of her like they have the previous seven. Only problem, he doesn’t plan on falling for her.
This is a funny story with so much more. I highly recommend it and can’t wait for then next book!
THIS WAS DISGUSTING. Jake gives full on stalker, future rapist, vibes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Every time Laci says 'no', 'don't', 'stop' Jake just pushes and pushes until she says yes. THAT IS NOT SEXY THAT IS MANIPULATION. He constantly forces himself into her space and thinks he owns her. He literally says he wants her barefoot and pregnant, and tells her she needs to stop taking birth control so he can impregnate her during their makeup sex -WHAT THE FUCK. Honestly this whole thing was revolting and I'm surprised I even finished it.
Laci has been hired to revamp the misfit reputation of the Carolina Rays MLB team as their Manager of Media or “MOM”. Part of her contract is to refrain from fraternizing with any of the team members. If she violates this clause, she’s immediately terminated.
Jake is the Rays’ all-star shortstop. Although he generally refrains from dipping into the company waters, he is tasked by the team with ensuring her quick departure. And he only has 30 days or he loses the bet.
I liked the story of Laci and Jake. At times, there were somewhat inconsistent plot points or character traits. But overall, a fun read!
Bet On It is my first book by Elizabeth Perry and I am impressed. I was immediately hooked. I love the characters. They are so well written, I loved their personalities. There was a depth there that makes you really feel like you know them. The heat between Jake and Laci is smoking hot!! This was a fun read with a lot of heat. The storyline is written so fantastically well that I know you'll enjoy it too. I highly recommend it! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
I enjoyed this book and had it read all in one afternoon. There was a few times I wanted to slap both of the main characters, but in the end I was happy with how it turned out. Laci and Jake had a chemistry that isn't easy pulled off and even though he has a reputation, he still has a good heart. And Laci has been through so much in her life that she is a fighter, so watching the two of them go back and forth was fun to read.
I was pleasantly surprised with this book. I honestly thought it's going to be an over the top, stupidly cheesy book with an Alpha wannabee . totally wrong. it's was a great read, thoroughly enjoyed it. perfect ending! Jake is perfect. I loved everything about him in this book. especially the last few pages I had a smile on my face he was so adorable.
And just because I enjoyed my first read of this author I will be jumping right into her book "one little word" next
Oh my. I loved Laci and Jake's story. I was hooked from the very beginning. I will be starting book 2 as soon as I write this review. I could never get enough of Mr. Hotshot. His character is just on fire from start to finish. I like Laci as well. All the small scenes that lead up to falling in love are on point. This one is one of my favorites I've read. I'm a huge baseball romance fan and if you like it then you will Love this book. ENJOY!!
I read this book all in one day! I was addicted from beginning to end. What a great read. Laci doesn't want to get involved with a baseball player but she finds herself attracted to one. I don't blame her. Some of those guys are really hot. The plot was great and I loved the interaction between Laci and Jake. I'll have to read more of this series as it comes out!

Laci and Jake's story was filled with every emotion you can think of in a strong relationship. From hate, to becoming friends, to love and betrayal, and then forgiveness. This was a great sports romance that started out as a bet and ended in a HEA. A truly enjoyable read.
